I never understood why the GC era imperium needed astartes when they could have just made a shit ton of ogryns to conquer everything and not have to worry about rebellion.
Even on the veteran. You can one shot crushers, and just about everything on damnation. Boss damage is strong too. Funny how it is basically better than the thunder hammer. High mobility to pair as well with an effective 4-7 dodges and high stamina pool.
The other one with wide sweeps is probably the best one for melee ogryn. Light 1 combos into heavy 1 for horde clear and it can still do heavy damage with its special. Probably gonna get nerfed tbh
Im not sure how i like about this one. Its nice to 1 tap mutants wiht no blessing but it has this really bad delay after landing. It also takes forever to finish up a horde because you cant get much out of bleed with heavy attacks and honestly just does too little damage i feel.
To me it feels about on par with tbe shovel and club for hordes, takes brutal momentum and some proper decaptating swings to get going tho. But ye the end lag from the special heavy is brutal, really the biggest drawback.
@@timlieu7623 the clubs can actually use heaviest to cleave though. Plus their light chains can actually finish certain targets since there are strike downs mixed in between. Unless the light chain for this is as good as the cleavers i just dont see it being very good for horde clear.
ChocoB, I have a question? In your solo runs, when a hord spawns, I often see you pull FAR back to a better position. My question is, wouldn’t it be better to move to a much closer position rather than going so far back?
you can give ground a lot easier than you can give health. when you're playing solo, your health is an extremely limited resource, and you've gotta give one, or you'll lose both.
@@opfragile I see, but solo also means that you have more resources to heal yourself with, so doesn’t that also mean you can Gain health as quickly as you can lose it? I really want to try out this solo mod but I don’t know how to install it.
@@jager477 It's also to limit the amount of enemies that can end up ganging Choco from behind unexpectedly, it's just much easier to keep tracking of everything that's in front rather than whatever you can't see.
You rarely get value out of toughness back on heavy attacks, as the heavies are vertical swinging and you only use those for taggable enemies. The light attack chain is general damage and horde clear, which is spammable horizontal sweeping attacks. Confident strike is the main source of toughness you’ll be getting back with this weapon. Without it you’ll be struggling. It’s similar to the bull butcher knife.
A shovel? Really? How threatening. 😒 Not an axe. Not a mace. A shovel. 🙄 Its awful decisions on the developers part like this that make this game a giant turd. 💩 "Hold the advance guys, I have to dig a hole and take a crap." *Throws Darktide into the used hole where it belongs along with the shovel* *Pulls out giant knife* "Now this is a real weapon." "Oh, wait. The devs have an actual weapon being less effective than a ditch digging tool." Absolute. Fragging. Garbage.
Ogryn: "Can i have some of your rations?"
Veteran:"Only a spoon full!"
Ogryn:
We need a voice line of the ogryn screaming "CAN YOU DIG IT?" as he buries the shovel in someones neck.
I like the idea (and addition) of corruption-cleaning syringes. They could advertise it as 'Nurgle-be-Gone' due to the icon.
The ease with which the shovel 1 bangs muties is insane.
7:13. Bomber "GRENADE!!". Shimano "I have one of those, here have it *thump*."
Lmao the small shovel bug. From a trench death tool to a farming tool
I've been running that shovel exclusively since the update and it's an absolute monster
I love the blood fx in this game its immensely satisfying turning an enemy into instant red sauce
I never understood why the GC era imperium needed astartes when they could have just made a shit ton of ogryns to conquer everything and not have to worry about rebellion.
Some how, the imperium probably sees it as heresy to breed them.
Even on the veteran. You can one shot crushers, and just about everything on damnation. Boss damage is strong too. Funny how it is basically better than the thunder hammer.
High mobility to pair as well with an effective 4-7 dodges and high stamina pool.
that mini shovel bug was funny xD
That head strike is pretty OP.
The other one with wide sweeps is probably the best one for melee ogryn. Light 1 combos into heavy 1 for horde clear and it can still do heavy damage with its special. Probably gonna get nerfed tbh
yeah I've been using it, it's a bit too strong
Only thing i don't like about it is you can't buffer inputs after the special so its kinda clunky to use
I prefer the mk.XIX...Though that could just be because I got max level thrust while upgrading mine.
I wish the heavy chain was more fluid so you could spam it into hordes.
@@sallymae3631 I've been spamming them just fine in heresy, though my build is built on spamming heavies
The gunners are getting absurd.
And the fire
I love when a gunner spawns directly infront of you and instantly downs you in less than a second.
Humans I'll scoop your eyeball out.
Ogryn I'll scoop your entire head off
cute shovel at the end 🤣
19:58 Kobe!
damn. those heavy 1 taps on errbody
The Fire is very dangerous mate
The mini poop scooper bug is super-cute
Nothing better than being able to damn near one shot a crusher with my melee Ogryn build.
With the right build you CAN one shot Crushers, and every other enemy in the game - excluding bosses obviously
@@azuresky96 don't worry, my only mistake was the wrong combo. I obliterate them and bosses with ease currently.
18:53 Double kill!
Ragers ghost range really grinds my gears.
You are the darktide GOD bro ;)
The fact that with the right build u can 1 shot a crusher with it js insane
This makes the Krieger part of my brain very happy
What mission is that where u fight Rodin Karnak outside? also his shields dont regenerate?
I am studying this so hard
I am determined to be good with this shovel
must protect tinies

You definitely need a hordeclear to supplement it, the shovel struggles with many targets. I rec a good achlys stubber or a ripper gun
i had a great time with hordes. i just use light attacks on hordes with dodging and pushing. it does a good job for me.
Hey ChocoB, what is your PC-Specification?
the HEAD SHOVEL
How are you playing solo? Is that a pc thing?
Wait, how do you do that with the shovel???
26:50 what?!?
I'm ten seconds into the video and I'm in awe
Khorne should be pleased.
Seriously, Bloodletters should be manifesting Everywhere!
One shot mutant is always good
Does nobody know the trick that you can hold the block button while reviving someone, prevents being interrupted while reviving?!???
nice
Fat shark do like there shovels

whats even the purpose of the mark 1 bully club anymore...
compare to these new weapon ,Thunder hammer ‘s damage is a joke

Shovels were used in wars of the past much before you were born, now if your stupid ass didn't know that, the joke is absolutely on you, tard
I disagree that I have to use a MK 19 Shovel on a Heavy Hitter build. its so hard maintaining toughness
