I've tried both & I prefer the crystal grip. It is officially dockable. It protects the Switch better. You can't really use the kickstand with the larger Neo Grips, and I really couldn't get the Neo Grip to dock properly. I had the crystal grip for my regular Switch and it never went yellow. Anyway, I recommend the crystal grip.
@@ajackson-ross7295 It used to be on Amazon, but they're not listing as many on there now. I've ordered directly from Skull & they ship from China so it takes a couple of weeks. But they're dependable and their products are great!
Went for the neo grip because we play docked a lot as a family, but I play a lot handheld. It seemed much easier to take it on and off as well, especially since we use the joycons often detached.
I have had the pleasure of using both before I sold my first OLED. I used the crystal grip more after I bought that one when I had the NeoGrip originally. My brother is buying me an OLED tomorrow, had to grab the Crystal w/ the MaxCarry case of course!
Great comparison video I just decided to order the grip case bundle just prefer that extra protection and dock-able feature. Don’t really use the kickstand much but with the max case i can use that if need be. Ty again for the video, keep up the great work and I used ur code with skullnco!!!
I actually have both. I bought the crystal case for my switch OLED. I was debating between the two. The crystal case is nice. Very comfortable and protective. Unfortunately I wasn’t happy with the grip case. It wouldn’t dock properly, and it was hard taking on and off. I did like the raised trigger buttons, and the grips slide on and off easily. So I decided to buy the Neo grip (just the black body). It’s a lot easier to dock, and to install the switch from the grip. It looks a lot nicer, and I still have access to the kickstand. Overall I’m satisfied with the Neo grip. I certainly recommend the Neo grip over the grip case any day.
Great video, thanks! I have the neogrip and i was considering to order also the gripcase. I have to say that I am using the neogrip and removing it every time I want to play docked and I havent any scratch in my joycons.
I have both lol, I like the neo grip a bit more because I use the trigger grip and the crystal grip doesn't feel as sturdy, it feels very loose and like it moving, but I will use the crystal grip if I ever have to take my switch anywhere because it offers more protection.
I love being able to access the kickstand, but I personally prioritize protection more so I have to go for the gripcase. I do wish future iterations of it will consider at least adding some sort of built-in kickstand though! But thanks SO much for the thorough comparison, this definitely answered all my questions in choosing them!
The onli problem with the neo grip case is that the rubber bands start to kind of polish the back of the swith if you take the switch off and on constantlly at the end the back looks like its scratched or it looks more shinny where the way of those rubber bends is than the rest of the back of the switch that is like a mate look , this also happens with the satysfige grip, so I think the cristal can protect and avoid the problem
I have the crystal case, and I love it. I do have a hard time docking it, though. I just have to press it in a little bit more. I don't mind not using the kickstand because I don't really do tabletop mode. I do wish they had more colors. I would love to see black grips, pink, blue, and maybe a crystal version of the new Tears of the kingdom neo version.
I first bought the NeoGrip and got disappointed by the fact it is dockable but it bends the dock’s front plant and touches the switch’s screen a little bit at the top and the top lock mechanism feels weak and will looks like will break after sometime. Got the Crystal grip today and I think is a better buy for those who use dock and handheld mode alternatively during the same day. It fits better on the dock and leaves a little room to move. I really don’t care about fingerprints because they sit at the console’s back. The only downside the plastic “sticks” at the dock after a while but they send some stickers to prevent that.
the plastic one will protect your switch just as much as the clear one as long as you have the grips attached as its impossible for it to land on the exposed area unless your dropping it and it falls on the side of a table or some raise narrow object.
Crystal has long term issues. First, the bottom of the clear gets loose really quick. Many people on A!azon report it just falling right out the bottom. Secondly, TPU will always yellow and will stretch, especially over time and temperature fluctuations. Lastly I read many people having issues docking the crystal.
I bought the Neogrip in the first place and after seeing some scratches in my Joycons I stopped using it. Kudos to you for saying it on the video, I think it's the first video I see where this gets mentioned. After that I bought the gripcase and I love it. I used the original Skull & Co grip on my "old" v2 Switch and I loved it too. Love your content too, you show every detail of the things you review and that's great. Did you have the chance to try the new Tomtoc cases for the Switch OLED? A video about it would be very cool. I would like to see if they fit the Oled with the gripcase and no grips. Cheers mate!
Honestly the docking part for me is in a really big thing because I take my grips off anyway for dock mode regardless if it is able to be docked with the grip
I have the black neogrip for my Switch oled and I picked up some blue handles. But when I had a Switch Lite; I used a grip case with matching "blurple" handles.

I bought the crystal clear grip and was disappointed that it doesn’t dock properly. It doesn’t fit all the way and doesn’t send the signal to my television. I also have trouble placing and taking off the smallest blue grip not sure if it’s just me but I’m pretty upset
I have the same issue with the SnapGrips. It does this for all my sets, not just the ones it comes with. I’ve had to use my trigger grips since then. The snaps were a pain to get off!!
with the the grip case do you HAVE to use the shoulder button extension things? I'm concerned about scratching up the buttons. P.s. it seems silly that they'd make one that has access to the kickstand. Aren't you going to play with the joycons removed if plating with the stand?
You don’t have too but it’s ok as it has protection foam on the rear (mine does). As for the kickstand, some people use a controller while stood up, but yeah, the joycons are first aren’t they. Also means it can be docked so serves that purpose too
I bought crystal one in the first place and it is getting alot of fingerprint , then i order the neogrip , both are dockable for me , can someone who cant put neogrip on dock please tell me whats happening there ? I cant see a docking problem at my end , hopefully i dont damage things yet , been docking all day long playing ff … tq
I order the Neogrip and loved it at first but after taking using it serval times I noticed it felt like the switch had a small bit of room to move around and I stopped in fear of scuffing up my joycon's. I think if that had some type of material in there instead of just polished plastic it would be better. I'm still waiting on my Zenpro grip to see how that feels and then I'll see If I want to mod my Neogrip or not.
Love the animal crossing neo grip on my OLED. Haven’t had any issues docking it. It’s lightweight and comfortable. Wasn’t a fan of the crystal case on my V2 switch.
FYI, I think I bricked my v2 switch on that skull and co dock, the switch was only 10 months old and I used that dock for 6 months no problems and then my switch wouldn’t charge, and i was using the Nintendo charger

I got the crystal clear. I really love this grip, but i have one problem with the carry case. It smells like it survived the amazonas fire. Is this problem only for mine case? I'm really annoyed, because everytime i get my switch out of the case, it smells burned
I’ve got a quick video on the Satisfye coming later and will be doing a ful comparison soon. There’s a few key differences that would sway people to either one.
I bought both and sadly sold both. NeoGrip was nice but it cannot be docked. Then they annouced GripCase. I bought it but it was too difficult to dock. I feel like pushing the case down into the dock can damage the USB-C port one day. Also, I'm not sure if my Switch OLED wobbled in the dock before because I never noticed it, but right after I used the GripCase my OLED Switch seems to wobble a lot. Anyone has the same issue?
im holding out because the shipping from their website is awful, just awful. for satisfy it pretty much a 30% mark up. i could not find both on amazon on their pages. atm I'm testing some joycon alternatives that have better grips.

The gripcase can damage your switch. I purchased a new oled last week and the joycons had no play when attached to the switch. They were solid.
