    these channels are starting a small revolution. i went skating for the first time today after two decades off and i can say i'm still 80-90% there. but with these videos and consistent practice on the fundamentals, i know i can be better now than i ever was as a kid (i'm gonna be pretty sore the next few days, tho - some of these muscles haven't seen use in a very long time)

      I'm on the same boat 🚢!!! I went indoors and omg I felt like I was kid dashing around the blocks in nyc! I'm looking to buy my first real adult pair! I always wanted an amazing pair of blades when I was a kid now I'm 33 and boy I'm just overwhelmed with joy!

      I was in the boat too! It's been just over a year I have been back on inline skates and have fell in love with distance skating. 26.2+ mi sessions three weekend in a row now. I've posted some short videos of the trail. How's it going with yall?

      @@unequallytwistedhey mate. Used to skate aggressive when I was young and started back at it but within a couple of months I got some free style skate Iqon CL20 3x110 (decode frames) so I have a 4x90 set up too. I been doing it about 3or4 months and love it so much. Haven’t hit 26 yet but I did 20 and was dead after.😂 that was a while ago though (evil friends and a very hot day) I did 17 the other day though and felt great after. I’ve been upping it gradually I average 10-15 miles atm 👍 do you use strava?

    • @unequallytwisted
      @unequallytwisted 17 дней назад

      @Zig423 that's awesome! Keep it up. I just upgraded my frames to @endlessblading 90 ES. I recorded 3 seperate 20 mi sessions last week on my channel. I do not use strava. Do they have a free version?

      @@thestutteringskater or even treat this as a first draft. Go out, wing it, see what you can get from it, and then re-write what you improvised with the benefit of hindisght, and then film it again. I know that it’s easier for me to think in the moment than it is to come up with stuff in advance, but then I always come up with better ideas when I look back on it.

    When I learned, those little "bubbles" were called Coke bottles because of the shape... You might also want to tell people that you are using aggressive grinder skates which are lower to the ground with more squared off wheels, thus making staying balanced a world easier. Beginners will often get the taller recreational skates that have wheels shaped for all around skating, but aren't conducive to doing complex acrobatics and movements.
    A good video.

    Opening up your view like this while going backwards is a great tip! The side for me to open up would be my left too, I think. I'm already using it to look back while bicycling so it's pretty intuitive for me already. The fluidity you have on skates is mesmerizing! I have that kind of control with my bike but I would love to get like that with skates too :)
    Thanks for the great video!

    Went from watching a few shorts of the most effortless navigation of traffic and some off the smoothest skating to this tutorial and this helps so much mentally be able to picture what it is supposed to feel like and where to put pressure when doing certain movements. I'm 6 months in and started as strictly distance and fitness to lose weight and am finally to the point i wanna learn different ways to enjoy skating instead of straight forward for the most part but dont have the hip mobility for being able to look over my shoulder while going backwards, any drills or exercises you know of that could help with that? Any tips would be greatly appreciated and hope all is well.

    I would like to know where to look when you land a trick off a ramp backwards. I've seen people look back. At the beginning I went down small ramps backwards but I realized that when you go down a trick you go too fast and you have to be totally concentrated on the vertical position where you will fall and not on the return direction. I explain ? I think the correct thing to do when backwards falling an AERIAL trick from a ramp is to look forward completely in a scissor style + the flexion required and then orient the direction with the rotation of the torso.
