      There’s a fine line between standing up for someone and straight up coddling. You can still love your family while also acknowledging their faults. Everything JJ said was 100% correct, yet all Austin could do was to say that JJs best years were with the clippers, which has nothing to do with what he said

    Accountability ≠ Responsibility
    Funny they left out when JJ later said that what he was saying had nothing to do with Doc's coaching ability, which makes Austin's point about JJ's best years moot. He was talking exclusively about Doc's constant excuses.

    • @KreepKid
      @KreepKid 8 месяцев назад +1

      I get what you're trying to say but you do know that accountability and responsibility are one and the same thing. They are what you call synonyms.

    • @skylerludlow
      @skylerludlow 8 месяцев назад +5

      @@KreepKid Even if they are essentially the same word, the difference is that in Austin's examples of Doc being "responsible" for losses, he is not the one being responsible himself, he is being HELD responsible or accountable by other people. JJ wants Doc to TAKE accountability, not be held responsible.

    • @wirelessbrain12
      @wirelessbrain12 8 месяцев назад +4

      @@KreepKid responsibility is more in the lines of duty. He was responsible for coaching his team at a high level and competing for a championship with the hopes of eventually winning one. Accountability is being able to take ownership of your performance and admit your shortcomings. Doc Rivers has basically made excuses on EVERY SINGLE one of the teams he's coached up to this point and called out individual players. He is not taking accountability at all.

    So much shade being thrown around here. JJ is 100% right on the money with the Doc Rivers take. Austin talking about being fired after a 3-1 lead, my dude, he dropped a HISTORIC number of 3-1 leads in the playoffs. Dropping a 3-1 lead is worse than getting swept. At least getting swept means you were just outmatched and outclassed, and that's okay because that usually ends up a conversation about either the GM or the Coach being the problem from public perception. In Doc's case, he was both a lot of the time too.

    The point that Austin’s is making about Doc being fired is no prove positive that he takes accountability. That was the organization making him accountable. 🤔 you can’t blame Austin though bc it probably runs in the Rivers 😅… JJs point was that he doesn’t verbally make himself accountable and everyone has seen the receipts. Austin is making it personal with calling out JJs play and insinuating he is holding a grudge. He might be projecting. A coach like Spo tells the reporter we have enough and would go in on a reporter if they ever down talk his players. Receipts.

    Let's just call it what it is. Doc has had an elite NBA team to coach for the past 17 years since Boston got KG and Ray Allen. He then leaves the Celtics and the Celtics did just fine without him. He went to the Clippers and lost with a prime CP3, Blake, and DeAndre Jordan with decent shooters around the team. He then goes to Philly and has Ben Simmons, Harden, Embiid, and other talented players. Now he gets to coach a historically great player in Giannis and arguably the third best PG the past decade in Lillard. All of this to only have one ring is shameful. The guy has coached more NBA superstars and talent than any other coach but has one ring to show for it. And you could make a solid case that the Celtics won in spite of Doc.
    They also had a 3-2 lead against Bron's Miami. Definitely a winnable series. Forgot to mention he had prime Rondo who was probably the 2nd or 3rd best PG at that time.
