The arguement that some NBA players would make it in the NFL because they were good or even great highschool football players is ridiculous. The gap between HS and College and College to NFL is astronomical. If it wasn't they would allow HS players to enter the draft.
As a guy who tried out for the football team, got hit by a linebacker and said, "fuck this shit, I'm going back to basketball. Fuck this." I agree 💯 percent.

They keep saying receiver, but they mentioning there will be a corner standing across from them jamming them, whats point of having the height if you can't get off the line.
They’re both difficult sports. The skill required to play professional basketball and the physicality required to play football means that no one can transition from one sport to another. Both sports take years of focused training to make it to the professional level. No one is transitioning.

Although you may find a few on one hand that could play in the NFL, your not going to get 30 that can or want to play. A lot of These NFL WR'S and TE'S have played basketball before to some degree. So it's not impossible by any means. A lot of these guys have played in multiple sports as kids. From Track and Field, to Baseball, Basketball, Soccer.
Jimmy Graham was a bench warmer while on the University of Miami's basketball team for three years. Antonio Gates was a power forward on a final four basketball team, and he made to the NFL without playing college football. Tony Gonzalez played basketball Jason Kidd at CAL. Everyone that goes to high school can play football, only about 440ish people are elite enough to make the NBA and that's worldwide talent and skillset. River's was wrong though. I was Allstate football and basketball in high school so in my experience basketball was more difficult from a skillset and conditioning standpoint. We would go through football spring training, regular season and when we entered basketball season we would still out of shape.
High School, and college football ain't the same sport. One rule NFL both feet need to be inbound, high school and college one foot. Two points NFL starts at the 15. College and high school you start at the 3. Those are just the rules. Some of the positions change dramatically from college to NFL. Like running back, tight ends, and linebackers, to name a few.

LeBron James who was timed at 4.60 in the 40 yard dash at age 28 would be a fantastic TE. Ja Morant with his leaping ability and speed would be a great WR or CB. There are many NBA players that could athletically play in the NFL. It would take some time to get accustomed to the physicality and at least some NBA players would be able to get accustomed to the physicality and some would quit. It would be easier for NBA players to get accustomed to the physicality of the NFL than it would be for NFL players to develop their skills for the NBA.
40 times are worthless unless they are official laser times. Im skeptical of that 4.6 at age 28 years old. That time he ran came from himself and we know Lebron lies a lot to boost his PR. It means nothing. With all that said, I agree with you on it being an easier transition for any athlete to go into football then it is for another sport. Football has too many positions that require a few selected skills, while other sports you need to be more well rounded.
Meanwhile WR's have to block, a corner would throw Ja out of the way and if Ja was a CB he'd get ran over by WR's and for sure a RB and James is mentally soft and would quit..James has zero heart.
One thing to consider though. Basketball requires that you both ways. Ain’t no resting on offense or defense. That’s something many football players aren’t used doing.
Wenby couldn't be on the line. He'd just have to get a running start to try and block the field goal before the ball got too high. It would be a non-contact position
Russell Westbrook would be Steve Smith???? Are they forgetting that he's 6'4"? I think these football players don't realize that NBA players are literal giants.

I’ve played both. And hands down basketball would be harder. A WR will never have to do what a quarterback does. Basketball every position has to do what the other does dribble, shoot, handle, defend, it just requires a lot of skills into one player. If I’m a WR I only have to do what a WR does
You couldn’t be more wrong if you wanted. I’ll give you basketball requires more time developing skills like dribbling, shooting, etc. Football is physically more taxing and requires more punishment which shortens careers. I played both at small college and when it was basketball season it was like having a break from a grueling season. I did get in the best cardio during basketball season, but nothing compared the strain of football.
This also silly because there's many NBA players in today's game that's trash at dribbling, can't shoot and can only really defend or rebound.. This post was super silly fr
🧢🧢. This was beyond silly.. There's plenty of NBA players in today's game now that's trash at dribbling, can't shoot, can't defend.. The only semi-leght case is rebounding
Physically yes. Mentally probably not. It takes a different breed to be hit over and over and over play after play after play. Getting into a serious car accident every Sunday. Like most people couldn’t be MMA fighters either. Just not brave enough. Athletically many could possibly be great. But they couldn’t take the physicality. Russ Westbrook or Ant and players like that the exception.
Lebron would have been able to play football when he was in his prime, he was an all American in football in high school and if he chose to play football I think it woulda worked out. He’s just a freak athlete. In the nfl I think dk metcalf could play basketball, that dude is a freak athlete
No he couldn't! He has the tools (size, athleticism) to be an NFL player but we have all seen his high school football game footage which his heart was suspect for his superior size. LeBron can barely take the contact in the NBA now without complaining or flopping. There's no flopping in the NFL. NFL players would end him in the first live period. Technique, Heart and "Want to"(Courage) separates the wannabees from the players. Too many failed experiments with hoopers trying to make the league. Gates and Graham both played CFB first.
Lebron would be hit over and over immediately. Yea lebron 6’9’ but all those players hitting him weig the same or more and they are definitely stronger then him. They pressin and hitting him all day.

If he was a bit younger or in his prime he’d definitely be amazing 💯
I was a hooper all my life, then started playing football in middle school... nothing I learned from basketball translated onto the football field, but a lot of what I learned on the football field improved my basketball game tremendously.
Prime example is lebron and Anthony Edward. Both played football and built like football players.Anthony look like he's moving two times faster than the average basketball player that only played basketball. And he have that NFL burst he can run right past a defender with the ball. Strength wise he can play against anybody and come down the lane with anybody.A seven foot 240 pound center ain't nothing compared to a Dt that's 6'7 and 330 pounds ready to take your head off.Im going to take on the seven foot guy. I've seen 6"6 football players that played basketball keep up with pro's all day and also seen basketball players trying to play football and they look slow ass hell. No disrespect for basketball players but when it comes to athleticism football players on a whole different level.
Lmfao na football players say this to make themselves better. Truth is if you’re athletic enough to play both sports and don’t pick the nba you’re not very smart. It’s more money, the money is more guaranteed, you can become a household name easily since we can see your face, women love basketball players more, it’s less physical yet more money, you can also have a longer career playing in the nba than the nfl. Stop it.
Athletic enough don't have anything to do with skill. And nobody said it was smarter to play in the NFL. All football players say you have to be tapped to play.
@@JasenMinus You obviously can’t read. I said for those that are athletic enough to be able to play both it’s smarter to chose basketball for the reasons I listed. Secondly to become a professional at any sport, athleticism is one of if not the primary factor
@@BenBanko no shit, but literally, less athletic players play in the NBA because they have specific roles. In the NFL, you have like 2 or 3 non athletic positions and they involve kicking. Again, your mixing skills with athletics. They aren't the same.
Bro, that's because the size of rosters is significantly smaller in the NBA. You have a ridiculously better chance of making money in the NFL vs the NBA. He exaggerated by saying 30, I’d say 4 maybe. Nate was better at hoop. Ai was better at hoop. Nate was pretty solid at football and ai was really good at football but ai was generational talent in basketball
NFL players play with MUCH More endurance not to mention it’s no subs unless you hurt or playing terrible. NBA players barely can touch each other as is
