  • Today I trained my bench press along side with Australia’s number 1 under 140kg powerlifter Rhyss “Palehorse” Keane. Although he’s a lot stronger than me, we use the same techniques and follow the same training principles and in this video we go in depth with our reasoning behind our upper body training from our bench press warm up through to our top sets and the way we program our accessory lifts. Little Rhyssy also bench presses a personal best of 232.5kg x 3 💪🏼

Perhaps I am missing something but, Sebastian talked about training how you compete, with the bar speed, amount of equipment, and training singles, but then Rhyss is training his top sets with a touch and go. While it looks like lockout is the sticking point for Rhyss, it seems to be straying from that specificity, especially in the peak cycle before big dogs

Great video! One question please, for a average athlete, not powerlifter, do you recommend to press the barbell in a straight line or towards the rack in a curve/arch? thank you very much for sharing so much great stuff

Was looking into getting some Eleiko plates and bar... yeah 1100$ for a bar, and like $6.90/lb for the weights.. Holy. anyways, Very informative, loving it.

Have a look at rogue calibrated plates, so much cheaper than Eleiko or Ivanko

Hey, I notice a lot of people ask you about stretching and you tend to dismiss it and we know you don't do it. However I think people ask, and I asked because of muscle soreness mobility and recovery. Your warmup addresses those areas so maybe refer to your warmup when people ask about stretching.👍

What is the red tape on the Barbell for? I've noticed in competions but don't know what it's for?
Lol nvm, it was answered in the video :)
