It's a choice between getting a 2020 car or wait for the revised and improved model. Either you have an immediate need or your don't. Personally I don't have an immediate need. I'll wait.
I’m getting the model X. After driving my model 3 for a few years, I wanted the model Y. But the financing is so great, now I’m looking into the model X. Both cars are significantly less than they were 2 years ago
Just picked up an X now that it qualified for the tax incentives. I test drove the Y, and the X's air suspension does give a much more refined ride. The Y is clearly a better value, but the X has great charging speed, and more cargo space.
This feels like an unfair comparison. You can almost get two Y’s for the price of one X. Yeah, the X is awesome, but discouraging people from getting a Y because the X also dropped its price (and does, indeed, have excellent features) doesn’t feel like a fair comparison for the price
The best time was in September 2023 for a plaid, all the stuff were new like the charge port and stuff every paint color was free and u get it in like 2 months, yoke was cheaper,. And it was only 89k
If money is no object, go model X, extra features can be cool. Otherwise go model Y, I have one and it’s the best car I’ve ever driven. It’s simplistic yet luxurious and has all the features you would realistically want to use on a regular basis.
If I am going to do a Vid - I would clean up my car first - I mean - it does not take that much time, and the presentation would not be so cluttered and seem a bit lazy... How 'bout a least a pic of the 5-seat config?
I do not like the wood interior, but to get carbon fiber interior trims, you can only get it with the Plaid version... but you get less mileage range with Plaid. That s...ks.🤫🙄🧐
I would upgrade my 2018 Model X if Tesla allowed you to transfer the self-diving feature that I have on my 2018 to a newer modern one - It only a software switch why pay $8K more when I already have the software I'm sure a lot of older cars would be upgraded if tesla offered this also pass the free entertainment software to the new car
I’m a Model X owner ( my first EV). I will probably stick with the Model X 6 seat as you are correct for space as well as I spend an inordinate amount of time in my car. My only concern in getting a newer model is the lack of sensors.
Got mine 6-2024. Used '19 MX LR 92k miles w/FSD. $45k. Used Tesla website. Plusses - FTD (fun to drive), spaceship feel, Hugest windshield, falcon wings, captain seats six seater great for kids, huge frunk, able to tow, key fob, Negatives - windshield needs to be tinted from heavy heat, heavier less tight feel compared to driving model Y, For travel you need to have at least battery with 240-270 USEABLE range. I recommend above 300 spec wise to be safe. You'll usually average charge every 2-3hrs doing a road trip. If you don't like that just get a plug in hybrid. I also have a 22 model Y performance. For around town driving will go to is the model I. But for everything else I would easily go for the Model X. With all it's cool features. I basically got 90% of what a brand new model X for half the cost. Berri No-ICE.
I 100% agree. Tesla needs something more upscale than 3 or Y, with more premium style interior without the falcon wing doors. A Model X without Falcon doors. I would be all over it, if priced right!
When they release the new cheaper model car they will have to update the 3 and Y to make them more premium. They will most likely add the bigger screen and secondary display like the X has.
@@yacompanioni Falcon doors are great for families, especially small children needing to be in car seats, but not everyone needs the doors or has children. A lot of extra expense and maintenance for Falcon doors. I would be nice to have the option to choose.
In Washington state right now you cant qualify for the rebate at all with the model X. Completely stripped down to base with no modifications or options it comes in at 81,349. Weak.
No ding bat, tbe modelX has major engineering issues: the suspension geometry is fucked up and because of that the front axels rattle under hard acceleration. Secondly, again because of the suspension, the modelX rips through rear tires sometimes within 6months. And lastly the doors sometimes fuck up. The two cars are in no way in the same category.
How actually does a young RUclipsr afford both a model Y and x? I work in I. T. and have a pretty good job but paying over 1k a month for a car would mean no more money for retirement or saving each month. After paying my home mortgage etc. Not one single Tesla RUclipsr ever mentions how they are able to afford it easily especially a 70k model X.
Never had any issues with the falcon wing doors during the 5 years and 100k kilometers our old Model X drove.. usually I hear that the most common issues are the air suspension and stuff related to the weight of the car.
I honestly prefer the regular doors on my model Y as the falcon doors can be problematic from what people have been saying on forums and in videos. The fit and finish also seems worst on model X from what I’ve seen with the two loaners while my Model Y was in service.
Robert, Thank you for your comparison between the model Y and X. Do you experience any issues with the falcon doors? Do you need to calibrate them if the car is often parked on the hill side?
Long range Y in the UK is £53,000, equivalent to $66,000! Where's as if I bought it in the States it would be just under $40,000 equivalent to £31,000 😱 WTF is right about that! 🤷♂️ I'd love a Tesla but even the Model 3 standard range is out of my price range over here in the UK!
I recently purchased a Model Y in Ultra Red with inventory discount, Fed incentive for approx. $36K. I could be buy 2 Model Y's for same price or less than Model X in same color. As much as I would love to have a Model X, it's very hard to justify double the cost for a few more "nice to have" frills in a Model X.
Don’t buy any Tesla not worth it! I have the model y long range 2024! I started getting notification on my Tesla screen that battery reduced charging - schedule a service! And when I took my car to the service the Tesla service team told me that they are going to replace the whole new battery for my model y long range! Camry xse hybrid much better than Tesla!
i have2023 model y... my only complaint is i have too high and have zero tax credit..i love autopilot and charging at home and very fast so I can pass the yellow light....and the battery is still very good

Waiting for the juniper. No way in hell I’d get the exact identical car I see on the road every 30 seconds 😂
Come on man.. more like $35k price difference. People shopping for a model Y are not considering a model X.
Out of idea for video
lol yea these youtubers dont get it....I just got a model y long range for 44k-7500...I never even clicked on the X
Difference is $70 000 in Sweden 🥶
Completely unfair comparison

The model X is worth its price. Had both, Model X all day. But if you are on a very tight budget, the Y will do.
I wonder how this door will behave during an accident, how will the emergency services have access to the interior?
Model X my favorite
The best time was in September 2023 for a plaid, all the stuff were new like the charge port and stuff every paint color was free and u get it in like 2 months, yoke was cheaper,. And it was only 89k
I agree. That’s when I got mine 😂

who said anything about a model s/x refresh? in 2024
TeslaScope
All these videos - spend $70K plus to save $7500!! [IF you qualify!)
Save x millions for retirment in the US or move abroad and get more for the money... but worry about some country randomly invading...
Tesla model X (Long Range) is the exceptionally most beautiful vehicle ever. BTW, I never had issues with the Falcon doors.
Um yeah. I'll wait.

I mean it's minimum $120 000 in Sweden. Thats with the 20 inches.
Model Y is $50 000
Same in Norway.. but the Y is even cheaper!
If the X had regular doors (like the Y), and was 10k cheaper, then I'm in.

“Ding bat,” my guy?!
@@yotube1ful yea, did that hurt your feelings because i could do alot worse.
1am and trying to relax in bed…then I read someone call another person a “ding bat”…thanks for keeping me awake 😂

I would buy two model Ys for the price of X, and that falcon wings don’t last long before they need replacement!
Never had any issues with the falcon wing doors during the 5 years and 100k kilometers our old Model X drove.. usually I hear that the most common issues are the air suspension and stuff related to the weight of the car.
It ll be covered by warranty, admit ur broke lol
the more i watch the tesla videos the more i want to get one...
I was just thinking the same thing!!
I honestly prefer the regular doors on my model Y as the falcon doors can be problematic from what people have been saying on forums and in videos. The fit and finish also seems worst on model X from what I’ve seen with the two loaners while my Model Y was in service.
Model X is soooo comfortable! Model Y doesnt even come close in terms of comfort.
Robert,
Thank you for your comparison between the model Y and X. Do you experience any issues with the falcon doors? Do you need to calibrate them if the car is often parked on the hill side?
No calibration needed.
if you are considering model x, you probably are not qualified for the 7500 credit...
Once the front doors are good ill prob get it when I'm older
What do you mean tax credit

Model X and a RED Model X! How are these 20 and 30 somethings affording these cars?!
Oh Rosenfeld duh!
Your audio, especially in studio is so high pitched. Recommend toning down the highs.
Great review thanks my man. I am looking at X and Y but leaning toward Y.
Because you gotta sneak out the door many other cases with other vehicles.
Where is this guy’s testosterone?😮

Great video price too high for x.
I much prefer the throaty roar that comes from my WRX 👍 Au
Good for u nobody asked lol
Love the new set
What’s ‘plaid’?
Plaid is the performance version of Model S and Model X
Model X price will be $50K , this december.
😃😀🤣
