Buy a home or condo first before thinking of making such an insane decision like this.
You can lease a new base model 3 for under $500mo. That is what I did. Buying used is a good option and prices still have dropped so you can get a decent one for under $25k.

@@hopperbopperI think the reason they charge so much for registration is because EVs don’t pay the gas tax but the state still needs to get their money for roads.
@@hopperbopper Heard of oil cartel? oil companies have more competitions? whether or not it has more competition clearly has shown it does not matter. They could always cut production and they do. Historically, oil price dipped but quickly snapped up. Did you know wall street speculators drive up the gas price? Did you hear CA government will add at least $.5 to gas tax? Electricity is much cheaper for the foreseeable future. I don't see how electricity will ever be more expensive than gas. If it ever does, switch to solar, not to mention solar price is quickly going down. Electricity is regulated meaning utilities can only raise electricity by so much. sure I like to see gas price go down. I want to see electricity price going down also. I want a deflation. Your first few points on tire, registration and money up front to buy a car is mute. Compare the finance to an ICE with similar qualities, you will quickly find your ICE will cost ever more, $150K+.
I turned down delivery of the Cybertruck I reserved and picked up a 2024 five seater model X June 1st with a traditional steering wheel featuring the horn in the center. Thank you Tesla! Build quality is 100% on my particular vehicle. I test drove the Y and liked it, but the X has more room, which I need.
I bought a used 2018 Tesla model X after owning a s and a 3. I also drop my father’s Y. No comparison, X superior from a comfort, refinement perspective and quietness. The falcon doors are a nice party trick.
Your registration fee is cheap, in Colorado for a $100K vehicle, it’s in the neighborhood of $4K to $5K. That’s just for the first year. I was in the DMV registering my then Audi and a lady bought a model X that sat next to me. DMV said her vehicle would be $5,500 and that was in 2018!
The tire wear is from not rotating your tires. Turning aggressively with a very heavy SUV will do that. Turning slower can help prolong the tire life. Tesla's are hard on tires though.
I’ve got the model y and I can’t see me ever going back to internal combustion engines. However I have solar so it literally cost less than my gas a month to get a new car. I wouldn’t buy a model x though as it costs way too much. Sales process and service are terrible. I’m a fan boy but nearly gave up on Tesla whilst trying to buy one. Stuck in pandemic mentality
@@hopperbopper it just runs direct from solar 100 percent no back feeding and works great. Free for me to get a new car just with gas savings for me. Pays for itself every 5 years
@@hopperbopper i guess you don't live in CA where gas price is multiple x of electricity. brakes? I thought no need to change that in an EV. Don't forget to factor into how many items you have to maintain in an ICE that you don't in an EV.
I’ve always had exceedingly positive experiences with Tesla. As has all my family members. I would happily recommend them to anyone. The model x and S are in their own little category as more complex, less mass produced car using some of their older tech batteries. 5 in the family, and never lost one of them to a day of service since 2018. I’m yet to see any other car that can do that. Ps your clickbaity title sucks. Discredits your work here. You might get views but you won’t get subscribers. 🤷🏼♂️
Model Y is good at it's price point, but far from being a luxury vehicle. The suspension is so bumpy and uncomfortable for people sitting in the back. Even compared to a Toyota Highlander, the Model Y feels cheaply put together.
If you use an acidic hand lotion and touch the steering wheel, if course it will damage it. My Tesla X is 7 years old and still looks like new inside-out. You also proved the amazing support and warranty of Tesla. Other companies like Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac will never give you a new steering wheel.
That's what I thought too. I noticed that the keyboards that my wife uses always has letters that are rubbed off. Same applies to the plastic buttons on the steering wheel or radio. I thought it has to be either the lotion she uses or her long acrylic nails.
Model X features will spoil you - auto door opening, air shocks, great support and more. I drove a Model Y for two days and couldn't wait to go back to my X. It's not the same, much better experience with the X. I am located in Canada and maybe the support is better in my country?? I never had any issues in 7 years with their support and service. Overall your review is very good, thank you.
There are many alternative options available in the market with an customer centric approach to deal with the issues and a prompt service in order to retain the loyal customers and build the trust of people in the brand
That’s the thing with Tesla, they have the highest retention rating in the industry even better than Porsche and Ferrari. Most Tesla owners would never switch the trade offs are to heavy.
Any of the good EVs usually cost more and have a worse charging network. So for now, Tesla is still one of the best options. Plus after almost 4 year, I've only used their service once and it was for a minor issue that was easily fixed by the mobile repair guy who came to my work. There is almost no maintenance.
@@niallk9336 It has nothing to do with cult behavior. It's because most Tesla owners never had to deal with the customer service because there is no maintenance.
Best tip: Use a Russian mafia accent when dealing with Tesla... they refreshed the model 3 this year so that's why the used ones may look more lucrative
Interesting that you said you don't want another subscription when that is what Tesla is hoping will be the future.SaaS model. Hopefully they will have subscription bundles. I'm pretty excited about the idea of being able to buy one and have it as a revenue source if the FSD with "0" interventions. I think Tesla needs to apply to be an insurance company if they are as confident as they say they are.
My first thought. You can buy 2 Toyota Hybrids for the price of a brand new Tesla. OK to buy a new car if you drive it for 10 or more years. Driving my Toyota for over 22 years. Just maintain it.
Buy they lease which is far more costly over the long run. Although she is talking about buying now a used one so your option is far better than the one they are proposing. Especially since I have seen how Tesla reacts to customers who don't have an online creator presence - you pay for everything to be fixed!
That's a 100k car. Tesla also has teh Model 3 that is $36k after credit and the Y that is $42k after credit. How much is the Camry and Rav4 if you buy a trim and options that match those 2 Teslas?
Exactly! I think your spot on with your observation. Most of these people do not own Teslas yet they have all kinds of opinions about Tesla and they can’t stop talking about Tesla!🤣🤣🤣
Unless you are unaware. You can hotspot your phone and the car can connect abd you have access to youtu d etc. im sorry you feel like the resr screen us "useless"
4 years in an I only used their service once the mobile tech came to my work to fix the issue. I had a Toyota at one point but I'm not going back to ICE cars.
Those used prices weren't very good. A new Model 3 LR is about $36k after tax credit. Why buy a 3 year old car for $30k. The one for $26k might be a good deal if it's the long range version.
Honestly, if you are qualified for 7500 incentives, it probably would be the same price for you to get a brand new versus a used one. I just got brand new my model y for 41K.
Ok, to be fair the subscription is $99 a year and it adds a lot more than just entertainment to the rear screen. You spend more money than that in useless Starbucks purchases.
I mean, you'd think that because of the high price you pay for any model Tesla, there should be very few issues with the car, but I guess the amount you spend on a brand doesn't guarantee quality, even tho it should.

First thing I would tell people who think about getting an expensive EV is to get their priorities straight. If you’re living in an apartment and renting, getting an expensive EV like this is getting your priorities backwards.
Buy a home or condo first before thinking of making such an insane decision like this.
Why can't she just learn math..... or common sense?
You can lease a new base model 3 for under $500mo. That is what I did. Buying used is a good option and prices still have dropped so you can get a decent one for under $25k.
Recall is not a upgrade .
It’s to fix something that’s likely to/is broken .
The upgrade wording is bs
I don’t think the reasons mentioned in the video are the real reasons why a model X will not be purchased again. You gave the same excuses as my broke friend. Just saying🤷🏽. Hope all is good.
Just saying… if $10/month subscription is too much to handle. You can just pay once a year and save $20. I know it’s hard to scrape by
Tape to hold them together, common issue for a car not overly cheap to buy.
$1000 vehicle registration renewal? Geezus I pay like $60 a year in Florida.
@@hopperbopper well said.
@@hopperbopperI think the reason they charge so much for registration is because EVs don’t pay the gas tax but the state still needs to get their money for roads.
@@hopperbopper that’s crazy; at some point I would like to get an EV, but it seems like the insurance and registration costs will be insane
Florida > California
Except the humidity. Florida would be an absolute paradise if the humidity could be banished.
For the love of god rotate your tires!
It may not be feasible on the Model S & X
Staggered set up on S & X no rotation
You can not rotate tires on a Model X, trust me, I own one. The tires are staggered.
Love that white Mazda MX5 on the driveway
Tesla mobile service actually replaced my Yoke steering wheel on my 2022 model s for free, rep was great!
I bought a used 2018 Tesla model X after owning a s and a 3. I also drop my father’s Y. No comparison, X superior from a comfort, refinement perspective and quietness. The falcon doors are a nice party trick.
You very cute and honest :D
Also try the new model 3, its so so much better then the old model 3. They improved allot of things in it really.
And at 3:30 suddenly the interior setup switches from left side driving to right side driving 😂😂😂😂
Thank you for the video
Model X is the best car Tesla ever made.
Not any more. I have an X, still do. Took delivery of my cybertruck on July 4. Its way better than the X…in every way.
You can share internet from your phone to the car, and in that case you do not need to pay a subscription to use the back screen
The tire wear is from not rotating your tires. Turning aggressively with a very heavy SUV will do that. Turning slower can help prolong the tire life. Tesla's are hard on tires though.
Correct, also, you cannot rotate tires on a model X
I feel like putting a turn signal stalk on it would be a good addition to the car
Thru your phone, hotspot the streaming. It will work.
What to do if you want Tesla to honor your warranty: Have a RUclips channel about Teslas with 1.25 million subscribers.
Model Y is good at it's price point, but far from being a luxury vehicle. The suspension is so bumpy and uncomfortable for people sitting in the back. Even compared to a Toyota Highlander, the Model Y feels cheaply put together.
Great video and very informative.
you are right! I am waiting to buy used EV. If not do not keep on dropping price, we'll get non Tesla.
I‘ll buy my Model S and X anytime again. Best cars EVER!!!
I can’t wait until I buy a model X. What an amazing car!
How about a used model x ? Like 2019 to 2020? What you think ?Thanks 🙏
I had no idea that Tesla made so many right hand drive cars.
I am gonna get one Marina. The technology is bar none. I was looking on purchasing a 2018 Model X. I don't have that Silicon Valley Girl money yet 😊
get ready to pay 3 times as much to register it and more for insurance
Were getting his and her Y's. Then Elon unleashed the crazy. Couldn't do it! We bought his and her Porsches. Love it!
They only thing you can be sure when owning a tesla is: bad service.
Title should be: I am falling in the tesla trap again.
@@JteslaR705 It's mostly just brand cult behavior. I see the iphones on the desk.
$12,000 a year for insurance? My wife and I pay $2,200 a year for three Volvos. Hahahahaha.
I think that was for the 6mo term. Which sounds about right.
@@niallk9336 Yikes.
She meant $1200 a year…..I think….lol
My model X had nothing g but problems after problems, model Y , 2 years in so far not a problem.
I’m sorry, but I can’t even imagine the smell.
That's a 100k car. Tesla also has teh Model 3 that is $36k after credit and the Y that is $42k after credit. How much is the Camry and Rav4 if you buy a trim and options that match those 2 Teslas?
The back screen is not useless as you can tether your phone. I get not wanting to pay Tesla for the internet service.
Sounds like your average car dealership if they can screw over the customer they will.
After FULL SELF DRIVING is approved, other EV cars resale value will be near to nothing!!!
good luck with that ur going to be waiting forever 😂
Exactly! I think your spot on with your observation. Most of these people do not own Teslas yet they have all kinds of opinions about Tesla and they can’t stop talking about Tesla!🤣🤣🤣
@@hopperbopper Why?
Warranty is the key in new Teslas. 1 year older is fine.
geez.. even registration is wtf... that's why i moved out of California.!!
Tesla replaced my yoke with the new improved model under warranty, no problem
you can link your hot spot to your car for free where it automatically connects
1000$ for the DMV lol. In Florida I now pay 45$
Unless you are unaware. You can hotspot your phone and the car can connect abd you have access to youtu d etc. im sorry you feel like the resr screen us "useless"
Saying don't mass up with Russian to Tesla was a super funny joke. lol 😂
Great customer service by Tesla. I'll stick with Toyota.
4 years in an I only used their service once the mobile tech came to my work to fix the issue. I had a Toyota at one point but I'm not going back to ICE cars.
"You don't wanna mess with the Russian mafia", good one.
It's called tire and alignment maintenance 20k and no rotation of tires or a alignment that's the consumers fault.
I would like to meet the nanny …. 🎉 good video, btw.
She wanted to change it to a round steering wheel and not pay for the replacement, so she stripped the old one. 😅
