If Douglas Bader can become a WW2 air ace with no legs, flying Spifires and Hurricanes, I reckon this lad is more than capable of achieving his dreams.... go Billy. Good luck young fella.
One of the biggest aces of the entire war, a Stuka pilot, also was an amputee …Hans Ulrich Rudel….point is…we can make a car that is controlled from the wheel, right? Or conversely, a prosthetic good enough to react correctly to foot peddles…I don’t know. The biggest problem is if the car is designed to accommodate him from the steering wheel, would it change his advantage with the other drivers…would FIA accept it? I don’t know. June 24 2019 I met in an accident. A taxi driver did a U-turn and almost end my existence. Even up to this day I don't remember the accident happening at all. I woke up in the hospital feeling a lot of pain and I was trying to figure out if I fell off my bicycle or my motorcycle.when the visiting hours came I later found out what took place while I was heading back home on my motorcycle. I didn't know that three days had past and I can't remember anything that my family members said that I told them, they said that the first day when they came to see me I was saying that I need to pay my rent. I can't believe I could have died and all that was on my mind was to pay my rent which is due on the 25th of each month. I am much better now but my scars are very much visible and I've accepted that I have a few scars but I also have my life still. BILLY MONGER I truly admire your determination, mindset and will power. Your truly inspiring to me and many others. 💪💯👍👌

I thought the same thing .... how is it possible that a car stopped in the middle of the track is not reported in some fucking way????? I can't believe it😤
there was like 2 or 3 seconds between the carlin car stopping and Billy crashing into it so it all happened in like 4 seconds or so and even in f1 they have like 5 sec delay between the incident and the flag. Amd this happened in a smaller occasion so it was just the unfortunate circumstances that the poor boy lost his legs.

Wow, I’m at a loss. This video just came up on my feed. I stopped watching most motor sports around 2016, except for Supercross, motocross and mx gp in Europe. I had no idea about you or your accident Billy. It seems that you are a rare breed young man. you're my hero Billy. i have a condition called Elhers Danlos Syndrom. its a condition that makes my whole body less strong, so muscles, skin en organs are a lot more weak than 'normal' people and that makes racing karts really hard because my energy level is very low(because of the less power in my muscles). But im racing in Rotax Senior class and i love it. i keep fighting every time i get on track to get better and better. I knew that this documantery was online but never wanted to look at it because i thougt i maybe get emotional. But now i watched it and never skipped a second, and yes i got emotional but jesus man, what a man you are. There is so much spirit in you. It motivates me so much to get everyting out of my, not only on the track, but also in life. There are so much lovely things you can do with a handicap but that doesnt make it less fun. I wanted to say you're a huge inspitration to me as a racer but also as a person, and many others with me. cheers Billy and keep drivin!

3:15am on my end I have to bring my son to the kindergarten in 5 hours. But this documentation about him makes me thinking about if I will give him the same support Billy got.
This is part of the issue people only see the driver side of Lewis. To use his own words 'the cut throat racer" he becomes when his visor shuts and it's go time. There is a nicer more normal side to Lewis which his friends and family see away from the pressures and expectations of a race weekend, which you get an insight into here
The problem with the world we live in, is that people only see what they wanna see... But when you take the time to actually open your eyes you see the real character within a person...
I can't imagine what losing only one limb could do. Nevermind two legs. I had heard about this story as it happened and instantly connected it to Zanardi's crash at Nurburgring. All the best to him and hope he can continue to race in any circumstance. Kid had and still has talent.
I broke my back in 90 and got back to walking with calipers and crutches after a couple of years I classed myself as hampered not disabled. Fantastic what you've achieved Billy, with a fantastic family and friends around you. Keep striving.
I remember watching live as the crash happened. I still cringe at the memory. Idk how many know but the crash played out live on TV. Billy your a hero, an inspiration, a fantastic driver and 1 hell of a human being. Keep on going son, the world is behind you.
crying my eyes out right now. played college hockey and due to too many concussions, doctors won’t let me touch the ice anymore. so glad bill got to recover and continue doing what he loves. I will always be involved in hockey, just not in the way I was ever expecting :) life is great and there’s always something to look forward to. even when times seem very hopeless
God smiled when he made Billy. Wonderfully super story of a very great loving family! Then friends of racing knock it out of the park! Good man with strength to accept and use what he is couple with the love of racing! Thank You for sharing and hungry to hear how his life is now!
The thing with someone his age getting everything he loved ripped away from him as fast as it did, it’s hard to not be angry at the world, the thought “why me” has probably crossed his mind a lot in the beginning, but the fact that he continued what he feels is his purpose in life, is truly inspiring and I wish to have an ounce of the determination he has. Sendin Love from America 💯
Just in tears 😭 what a beautiful, inspiring emotional journey he is a positive, beautiful young man with such support ❤️❤️ make a movie about this kid!!! Please!
What a wonderful attitude this young lad has had through his ordeal, he took everything in stride without blaming anyone or being bitter. This attitude is taught and learned borough having a strong family bond. Some parents could teach the world how to raise your child to be accepting of the good and bad in life, without blaming the world and losing control of your life from there. I have nothing but respect for this entire family for teaching each other, thru love, to be the best person you can be.
What an incredible young man.. seriously impressed with his attitude and positive approach to life. This should be on Netflix...so the world gets to see what an awesome dude he is

If you need someone to help you make sense out of all you/we are going through and uplift the minds of other handicap individuals who want to race competitively here's my number, Steve Solo 949-391-0229 We can also start a school for handicapped individuals who want to learn how to drive competitively....to pay for our racing. You are lucky to have survived your crash, as was I. Perhaps we were both put on this earth to raise awareness showing amputees can compete and win against able-body people. Call me and let's change the world.!
This is amazing! I really hope people see this!
Thanks for sharing!
yeaaahh man
cool story bro...
I have no words man, that was beautiful.
Props to you, your family and anyone that came your way and played their role that has helped you becoming the man you are!
Take care, and WOT!!
God bless!!
The people who disliked this video are the people in Billy's mirrors.
It happens by accident with touch screens id assume.
Yeah def
@@BrooklynBalla yeah I have disliked stuff by accident and it makes me feel so bad when the person put a lot of work into it and they think I didn't like it.
How can you like that this happened to this boy? It doesn't have to be negative. Other people think differently but not always the way you think.
People who dislike this video disliked it because Lewis is in it and Billy is a huge fan! That’s usually the case. Any F1 video that shows Lewis in a positive light gets disliked. F1 fans are petty like that! Go figure!
(I’m talking F1 and remember, I’m a new fan so I don’t know all the nuances of the sport)
Billy, I had bad accident nov1st 21,my son passed in my arms. Multiple surgeries to try save my rt lower leg failed. You give me hope and inspiration. Thank you and bless you sincerely. Larry Conn
Billy while in hospital after the crash talking to one of the nurses. “ Oh well, at least i wont ever again have to worry bout smelly feet”. 😂
This was so funny I forgot to laugh
Aaaaaah, what a beautiful sense of humour, Billy.
How did you think that was funny?
Not funny
ah shit, here comes another reply section fight
The 13 people who done thumbs down obviously ain't got hearts.. How could you not love this lad
most of them are dislike bots
Make that 90
Theres people who think like”ohhh this is soo sad im going to put downvote out of compassion”
Nah man these are done by you tube bots, theres not a single video with 0 dislikes.
@@metaltyre4894 That's dumb. Of course there's plenty of videos with 0 dislikes. .. this kid is living his own dream. How about you?
This isn't a feelgood story, this is an epos of dedication, the true embodiment of a sportsman, but also a story about a down to earth kid and his loving family.
And I'm not crying, you are!
What a nice young man. Such a great kid. His parents must be very proud and raised such a wonderful kid. 🏆
Such guts, character and determination to have such a nasty accident and to be back racing again. Such an inspiration to me. Not all super heroes wear capes.
With all the hype in F1 about being ‘inclusive’ and ‘we race as one’ this should be a no brainer. Billy needs to RACE!

why just because him been disable, F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport you either there because you the best of the best or your last name is Stroll

leetlebob you got to have the super licence points to make it to f1
@@leetlebob8203 thats a lie, if that was truth mick would've gotten his ferrari seat already 🤣 😉 😜
This lad is going to be an absolute machine when he is fully used to it all. His determination and winning mentality is unreal.
I was thinking the same! Wait till he really gets used to it and technology gets better, NOTHING will stop him!
Niki Lauda didn't often take time to talk to people, that says a lot about this young man. You're an inspiration, all the best and I would love to see you in F1
Lauda
Man, this is one of the best thing I've watched in years. Made me cry so much man. You're such an inspiration
Billy you 🤑 are such wonderful extraordinary.the best thin.l've🇵🇷💯💯💯💅💅🔥
And still with a smile on his face, you're an inspiration my man, you've brought tears to my eyes. I need to be more appreciative, my whole outlook has changed. I cannot thank you enough, thank you...
Yup, if we think our life is bad all we gotta do is watch this! He's an amazing young man!
What a champ ❤️

Me too.
Me wish you all the best in all your endeavours. What a roll model Billie, you inspire me!
why? Netflix is for the retarded sjw blm fucktards... This kid deserves wayyyy better he is the definition of a warrior!
The parents and sister are legends. Like, how lucky could this kid get to have family like this? It’s crazy. I’m not even related to him or know him and I’m proud of him and his family. Like holy crap. Family’s like this only come once very blue moon. This is true family.
My respect skyrocketed for Lewis when he started taking photos of him at the ceremonies, when he first got back in a car, when he first got the letter at the hospital. They are amazing guys, both Lewis and Billy
yep Lewis is an amazing and humble man
Billy’s like I crashed lost my legs let’s get back to racing. What an amazing attitude and spirit. Go on you billy. Your attitude will make you do amazing things. Found this video on a fluke glad I watched.
What an unbelievable story!
I wish this young talent the power he needs to come back into the great sport... you have a lot of fans! Don‘t forget this!
Many greetings from Germany!
Lewis Hamilton has found himself a new fan what a caring dude and what a story young man has an awesome outlook on life
This kid has a good heart and is wise far beyond his years. When my father was stricken with cancer I eventually became his arms and legs, but he remained, as always, my strength. He will always be my hero.
A kid on the outside, *the* warrior on the inside. Heartfelt respect and best wishes from Germany. You'd give me a reason to watch F1 again.
What an unbelievable young man, nothing but respect.
I don’t know how to begin to explain the amount of respect I have for Billy. An incredible incredible guy!
I dont get It! No yellow flag, no radio telling the drivers about a stationary car at the cirquit??
Billy is a winner! And I Wish him all the well!!
Dont really have time for that in 5second of time
Immobile car on track is red flag no matter what
June 24 2019 I met in an accident.
I saw the crash at Donington Park and followed every single part of the story through social media and up until the first race back and I have to say what an inspiration you are to millions of people! Keep that spirit alive and I hope that one day we will see you on the F1 grid ❤️ #BillyWizz
I believe he will be.
Stories and personalities like his, make you appreciate every single thing that we have as something sure. Amazing video!!
This popped up on my feed and I am so glad I watched it (big racing fan here). What an absolutely incredible story of an even more incredible young man.
dude i cannot stress enough the amount of times I was impressed by his tone and like the overall way he was handling things...very good mindset at such a early age with do wonders in the long run
Life gave you a MASSIVE lemon and you made a bucket of lemonade. God bless you.
I’ve seen Billy on the F1 shows and never knew his story. I’m glad I watched this documentary. He’s an incredible young man and showed such strength. Honestly cannot believe how he took everything in his stride. Great support from his family, motorsport and it’s supporters. To the 15 people who gave this video a thumbs down, you should be ashamed of yourselves
Here’s a grown man trying not to cry this is incredible Billy’s a HERO 🙌
You can rebuild a soldier’s limbs to fight aliens in space but here on Earth we can have access to MedBed Technology to continue to thrive. Why is this. The tech exists yet humanity is denied access. It’s sickening. It’s got to change. Best wishes to you Billy. What an amazing young man you are and your family … extraordinary.
Winning doesn’t show the true metal of a man. Loosing something shows the true strength of a person. This kid is made of steel, what a legend.
I know I'm gonna see Billy race in F1 soon... God bless you Billy!
I wanna see another part of this. Brilliant kid, wish him all the best!!!!!
Whether he races again or not, it's clear this young man has the guts and personality to ensure he lives an amazing life all the same.
For someone of Billys age hes very mature and determined to get bacl ro racing doing what hes loved all his life fair play to him hope he achieves many things going forward
well done billy as someone in a wheelchair with spinabifida and stenosis had a laminoctemey c1 to c5 to help with cramps and muscle spasms and pain as well,i lost my right leg above the knee and cant stand up due to weakness in left leg and no balance,i miss walking soooo much im 54 years old and lost my walking ablility at 48 years old ,and lost my leg 4 years ago due to blood clot and sepsis shock, good luck billy and keep walking lad keep going
Who is disliking this, what is there to dislike.
Well, there are people that disapprove of dangerous sports like this, especially for minors. You can see many things in this doc. What I see is an example of perseverance, a loving family and playing the cards life has dealt you. Respect!
was wondering too! such an inspiration!
The other teams and drivers who lost to this legend
What turns me off about it is as a child he’s not allowed to make any decisions for himself but his parents put him in a car and now he’s crippled.
@@whiteknob7944 His parents didn't force him to race, they allowed him to follow his passion. What would you do, wrap your kids in cotton wool to keep yourself happy while depriving them of an interesting life? They've obviously done a lot right to raise such an inspirational young man. You mate, have no idea.
what i dont understand is why wasnt any flags waved?
there was an immobile car on the track, and not one flag. they failed this boy so badly.
I thought the same thing .... how is it possible that a car stopped in the middle of the track is not reported in some fucking way?????
I can't believe it😤
Exactly !!
there was like 2 or 3 seconds between the carlin car stopping and Billy crashing into it so it all happened in like 4 seconds or so and even in f1 they have like 5 sec delay between the incident and the flag. Amd this happened in a smaller occasion so it was just the unfortunate circumstances that the poor boy lost his legs.
@@adamgungl7454 Omg😵😱🥶🥶
5 seconds delay sound like a huge time.
I'm not an F1 expert but if you consider the speed of those cars a delay of a few seconds can mean a disaster..😱.
I really hope you are wrong my friend...
@@alexsiliano3978 even if the flags were waved by the Martians. The drivers need to see the flags, and react. Let’s say all that happens in 2 seconds. He would’ve had either Jerome the car away from the crash, potentially causing another bigger crash, or trying to stop the car enough to not meet him. It was an unlucky situation, and was extremely unlucky :/
As a father of two myself, I can not put into words how proud he must be. Not a religious person, but I see a gift from God when I see one. Absolutely insane story and amazing man.
Such a beautiful young lad even after the accident his personality shines , your an amazing inspiration lad 💕
Wow, I’m at a loss. This video just came up on my feed. I stopped watching most motor sports around 2016, except for Supercross, motocross and mx gp in Europe. I had no idea about you or your accident Billy. It seems that you are a rare breed young man. With the trauma you sustained, never allowing it to depress you or to deter you from your goals is just amazing. I’ve tried to raise my son to keep striving for his goals as well, no matter what obstacles are put in front of him. After watching this video with him, I see the expression on his face, and I feel he finally sees what overcoming adversity looks like. Thank you for this, your drive has touched another young mans life. Even though you probably would never meet, you have turned on something in my son that nothing can extinguish. God bless you for that.
In Australia I had never heard of this story so glad it came on my feed to watch. What an amazing story what an incredible human at such a young age. Being a parent but a kid at heart I feel I could relate to both the parents and billy . I’m still on wow good luck with everything in life champ
As a fellow Aussie I agree I am so happy to have seen this fine young mans story! Keep pushing forward Billy
That was such a nice moment seeing niki and monger meeting each over one how lost his legs and one how suffered burns. RIP niki lauda and
Get well soon billy glad ur back winning again :)))
Billy monger.... my lord you are a dead set legend!!! You have touched many people through your story. I love racing but you have it in your spirit. Many more people will have drive to learn through difference by hearing your story. You are an inspiration brother and I sincerely hope to meet you one day
I can’t believe this remarkable young man was back in a race car in under a year from such an accident. Billy Monger you aren’t disabled, you are a race car driver. Amazing. The sky is the limit.
Well said 👏🏼👏🏼
I’m 57 and this lad is an inspiration to me, so all you youngsters out there should take a good look at billy and be inspired from this incredible young man. God bless ya mate and I’m a huge fan of yours even before the accident, now I feel even more of a fan. I sincerely hope you reach your goals, if anyone can do it, it’s Billy Monger.
Wow he achieved all that in less than one year! Such an inspiration!
It's sad, we live in a world of social media where 137 people dislike this video
Yeah, on May 1st, 2021 291 people really need to go thru something tough in life so they can understand how hard this was for Billy & maybe change the direction their thumbs are pointing.
Now there is 324 people that don't like it they don't deserve to live !
You guys do know that bots dislike videos right
Ya I know but not all of them are bots people need to go through tough times to understand how hard it is but u have to keep going no matter what because u can't succeed standing still
But tens of thousands liked it!! There’s always going to be ass holes, ya know?
3rd time watching this and it still makes me cry, such an inspiration
I watched it and then immediately rewatched it!

what an amazing story, the maturity of Billy's outlook, Mr & Mrs Monger, you have done yourself very proud with your son!!! what an inspiration to everyone. Well done Billy, keep up the great work.
you're my hero Billy.
i have a condition called Elhers Danlos Syndrom. its a condition that makes my whole body less strong, so muscles, skin en organs are a lot more weak than 'normal' people and that makes racing karts really hard because my energy level is very low(because of the less power in my muscles).
Billy, don't be a hero.!
That's enough to make a grown man cry
I'm quite old and I don't have the mental capacity of this kid. Watching this just gets me teary, I just got to get my shit right
I'm so grateful that you're alive and you do live your passion further on 💖
9 months after losing both of his legs..not only has he been able to get the rules changed but he's already back driving on the tracks...what an absolute warrior
Damn YT and their algorithm, it's 3am and my eyes are filled. Sir, we need more stories like yours, a family that comes together in full support of their own, and a young man who didn't give up and go looking for a safe place. Wishing you all the best!!
Yo it's 3am for me now 😢
Its 5:20am and was supposed to be sleeping 90 min ago 😁
3:15am on my end I have to bring my son to the kindergarten in 5 hours. But this documentation about him makes me thinking about if I will give him the same support Billy got.
I don't particularly like Hamilton. This showed a Lewis I havn't seen before. He might actually be a decent dude off track.
Yeah he is a good person, but arrogant on track
Tf u mean haha I don't like to see Hamilton winning every race (I support ferrari) but he did so many good things.... If u just look you'll realize it
This is part of the issue people only see the driver side of Lewis.
Oh yeah, on the track you love home or hate him, but their is no denying he has a human side and a compassionate side to him.
I can't imagine what losing only one limb could do. Nevermind two legs. I had heard about this story as it happened and instantly connected it to Zanardi's crash at Nurburgring. All the best to him and hope he can continue to race in any circumstance. Kid had and still has talent.
We stub our toes we all think it's the end of the world this dude lost legs and didn't cry of pain. Such a brave kid
What an amazingly brave, strong, determined & lovely young man. He encouraged himself with wisdom way beyond his years.
Your such an inspiration, never give up keep going you’ve got this and God bless you and your family.
At 10 years: He was the british champion
When i was 10: Mom im hungry feed me...

What a beautiful family! There is something about you Brits that indeares we Yanks to you.
Love always from USA!

I'm like to think I'm a grown man he is a teenager and more grown up than I'll ever be what an inspiration and love his need for speed👍👍
I dont regread a single second spent watching this. Billy u are inspiring.
Huh?
It's only when he will be in f1 ,to win that race last season was unbelievable. mentally so strong ,
What an admirable young man! His mindset is excellent! Just shows it’s how you view your situation. It can make you or break you!
The lessons we can take from Billy, never give up on circumstances
I hope you go all the way to the top Billy. I knew your dad 30 years ago on the exhibition circuit. Good luck son!
What an incredible young man.. seriously impressed with his attitude and positive approach to life. This should be on Netflix...so the world gets to see what an awesome dude he is
Omg, what is it with the Netflix comments? Netflix is trash, more people will see it here.
Your just a kid and omg your more of an inspiration than 95% of anyone alive today
Who else was smiling, heart racing a bit and a small tear watching him rock that track for the first time since the incident? What an amazing story of perseverance and drive... Gorgeous lad is going places in life and won't fail at anything he seeks out to do
