This reminds me of my first night sleeping on a sleep number bed. I barely slept wondering if I had the correct number. I changed the air setting 5+ times. I would lose my mind wondering if my weights were correct.
I have EDEL 52 and 58 degree wedges which my son fitted to suit my swing. The improvement is remarkable. I also had my EDEL putter fitted too. So much better. I will just add that my son is a registered EDEL putter and wedge fitting Pga member.
I have a combo of SMS standard 4-7 and SMS Pro 8-PW. Absolutely love them! I wish I had also gone SMS Pro 7iron, but I might buy one If I feel the need. These are the best irons I have ever hit. They go so straight it's unreal. I got fit for them and the heavy weight in the middle worked great during the fitting. On course, I was seeing the 7iron flare off to the right so I moved the heavy weight to the toe on the 7iron only, and it instantly improved my strike and the ball flight neutraled out. The sole design on the Pro version is unlike anything I have ever seen and the turf interaction is perfect. The sole on the standard version has some trail edge relief and they play much thinner than it looks. They might be the best-engineered irons on the market.
Beautiful irons, but PXG has been using a similar system for years. The only difference is that they do the weight adjustments during the fitting process. I can see some people going bunkers trying to adjust the weights.
Hey Mr SG, I think I speak for tons of people in saying, we have thoroughly enjoyed your breakdown of some of the best/most iconic swings on YT in FP and Rick. Not because I think he’s one of the best golfers on YT but I think it would be awesome to see you breakdown Bubbies golf swing. I mean I love watching the mechanics of the golf swing but that certainly has to be one of the most unique I’ve ever seen. Would love to see your take on that.
Loved hitting these are my fitting. Unfortunately these are so pricey i was priced out of getting them.. by far the best club i hit.. felt like butter off the face, amazing numbers, consistent and forgiving
Brilliant review of new Edel irons. identifying any (good golfer's) normal iron face hit impact location (I'm out towards the toe as well) and where backweight placement options would benefit the most is outstanding. Sound from your hits of forged irons was sweet. Well done. Gary
Not going to lie, I always looked at these type of irons weirdly. The concept is growing on me though, being able to be your own club fitter is actually really Cool. Your swing can always change too and to be able to change on the fly is an awesome option. I also never really liked the look of PXG especially their logo Lol that's just me but man these irons look super clean. Logo I love and actually could get behind them! Thanks for the review 🙏🏾🔥🤙🏾
@@ThrifTeeGolf sure. But I've fallen into the trap of adjusting adjustable clubs before a round, only to realise I've screwed it up and now have to play with it/them for the rest of the round. Maybe there's too many variables for us to tinker with nowadays?
@@GreenDistantStar I mean I would say that you would practice at the range a good amount of times on that one setting so that you have no question once you actually play it's the right setting. It's just like if you got club fitted, no matter what you're going to have to use that. At least with this (in my opinion of course) those times when you change your swing thought and what not you can adjust the weights accordingly. Just have to practice a bunch on one setting and settle in. At least that's how I would go about it
I think those clubs are awesome! I still use my Warrior Custom Golf clubs from around 2000 and they hit fine. I know there's immense improvements in technology over the years but I have yet to find that next set for a killer deal AND I play so rarely that I can't justify the cost of new clubs. Mr. SG, could you try a lighter weight to the heel then heavier weights in the middle and toe positions? Or, no weight in the heel and light in the middle and heavy toe? Thanks Sir, I look forward to all the progress videos with your new clubs.
Did you get fit for lie angle and else, or you already knew your needs? Edel are very good with their fitting philosophy on putters, how are they with irons and wedges? Don’t they fit your best weight positions within their fitting, or it is something that you have to do yourself? Thanks
I like these irons. They feel good but they are not as good as my Mizuno JPX 923 Tour (for me). That being said the SMS Pro seemed more forgiving to be but the way they were setup had a little too much draw bias. I did like how soft these feel.
For someone who plays a lot who will need to make small tweaks every day. These would be great. For the guy who plays two rounds a month, these will only hinder you. But they are really great looking irons
When I was fitted for my Callaway Apex irons, each iron's lie angle was individually adjusted. So how does Edel's CG adjustments work with lie angle adjustments? Or is lie angle set across the set and CG used to fine tune?
Any concerns re: weights loosening and falling out? Can’t use loctite until you’re dialed in, but then what happens when you get older? Do the weights “click” twice when tight as with woods? Also how’s the prep for the tour coming? Still going to try it?😊
No click and they are very secure. I've set my wedges up with just an average twist pressure months ago and they haven't loosened at all. In fact , I'd worry more about damage from over tightening the weights if anything. Overall, it's a great club and great system.
This has been tested time and time again with robot testing your not changing the COG enough to have any effect on the golf ball with that minimal amount of weight. You could take all 14 grams and move it to the toe and it wouldn’t move cog hardly at all. Hence why titleist started marketing for you to put the weight behind where u strike the ball on the face rather than trying to change a ball flight.
I wouldn’t trust the weights staying out. My Callaway Apex hybrid has a weight that loosens up over time and requires tightening. I would be so paranoid that I would tighten weights before every round on something like this.
These look sick! But one questions... is it pronounce "Ed-Ell" like you say it? Or is it pronounce like "Adele" like how some of our British RUclipsrs would say it?
well, if i truly believed that different expensive irons would help my game and lower my score... I would jump... but for me... its operator error that keeps me from breaking 80...
At first glance, they looked like the PXG irons. Very interesting concept for irons, since (as you said) this tech has been used for years in drivers. I'm wondering if you get that "click" when you screw in the weights or if they are just normal screws and if so, if they would have a danger of getting loose and falling out while playing
@@johnblackburn4759 Thanks John, I know that as I've owned those drivers before. I was just commenting if the screws on the irons were of a similar type so you could use the wrench instead of what looks like a regular allen wrench. I probably worded my comment incorrectly.
They are not very nice to look at. They are definitely CB. There is nothing bladey about them. I try new clubs all the time and the only irons that feel and work like my AP2s are T100s (1/2 the price). I feel like these Edel irons are for gullible people with too much money. Love the channel and I appreciate that you have to pay bills…

Boy, am I glad I’m not this old yet. Sounds awful.
Lol never thought of that, but I for sure would be wondering all the time. One bad shot and then switching them around 😂
Lmfao
Or you can take lessons and hit the clubs you already have…for most, it’s not the clubs.
I would buy a sleep number and fal asleep without setting it

That’s a great way to help my game. Being able to move the weights to help. Heard about these clubs. Thank you Mr ShortGame
Adjustable irons and wedges are the future. We already see this with Ping and PXG, now Edel. Good stuff.

Been wanting to try these since Edel first released their adjustable irons. Those shots sounded crispy too🔥
What Mat do you use in the home sim? Fiber Built? What did you like better between the Monster Mat and Motivo you previously tested?

Great concept, so logical! I guess other manufacturers will copy that within 18 months...
6 handicap here, would you suggest the pro or the regular and are you a big fan of them?
Probably the regular but you’d have to hit them.

No Click but they are very secure
That click sounds is the torque wrench and not the wood itself.
Use Loctite purple or mayyyybe blue at most and you'll be fine to remove them later.

Waiting for my pros to arrive. Sms pro for me with weight in the toe. Feels great.
6-2-6 brought back some core memories. Real ones know.
Could you review Edel grip
Analyzer training aid? It’s $250. Looks intriguing. But expensive

The grind options on the wedges are equally interesting.
How much is a set and also happy to see a Colorado company on your channel
$250 per club
Great looking club.
they sound sweeeet!. great vid mate, cheers
are they also 1 length clubs or standard length clubs or do they come in both????
Standard
They do look awesome!
how different are these from PXG clubs?
Lovely!
Did you get free Coors beverage while visiting? Since Coors member bought them?
Sweet sticks MSG 😎🤙
those irons are too expensive though... wtf like 1750 for a set
Did you get in any golf when you were out in CO?
Doesn't PGX do this with some of there Model Irons?
That's pretty neat!

Yeah edel is a great club.

“Adele”
They seem like they are copying PXG! Am I incorrect in thinking that? I have PXG’s that I love. Wondering if these are the same?
I’m left handed and it doesn’t appear that they make lefty irons. $250 per iron seems pretty expensive.
Are these clubs USGA approved?
Yes
well, if i truly believed that different expensive irons would help my game and lower my score... I would jump... but for me... its operator error that keeps me from breaking 80...

The click you're familiar with is the from the wrench not the screws. It's a torque wrench. It won't let you over tighten the screw.

I think a bit of blue loc-tite should suffice.
Pxg has entered the chat 😅
Have a hard time rationalizing purchasing a no name iron for 2k plus.
Suggestion. Say the brand nane correctly
My man couldn't get the PXG sponsorship.
Review coming soon
thats cool and all but not $250 per club cool. i would rather just use lead tape on a cheaper model.
It’s the Indian not the arrow. But add more weights and maybe grip stiffness in addition to swing thoughts. Sounds like a good idea!
I’ll need to stick with tape…no left handed apparent on web site. 😢
Seems like a gimmic. I have had a weighted driver for years and I have almost never moved the weight.
It isn't supposed to he moved often. Move it to where it works best for you. Then don't move it again.

2 pieces of lead tape about an inch long on the toe....5 bucks instead of 1000.
Good good hat? New sponsor???
But aren’t you still gaming titelist?
Is that a Bettinardi putter I spy in your bag?
This is a lot of marketing hype, I think. Most players will not notice a difference when moving those weights around anyway.
You have to try them to know!
Any company that doesn't cater for left handed golfers can't call themselves a real golf company. Next....
😢
you're part of good good now?
I play golf to enjoy my sunday. Not to be a carpenter
You needed a shot tracer on so we could actually see what effect changing the weights had on your.
It's crazy how your brain senses the weight difference and tries to "auto correct" I'll call it.
Only right-handed and $250 an iron, yikes.
Too gimmicky for me.... Great content though!
