Daft Punk is a very important duo in the history of electronic music in the last decades, I have no doubt, both guys have sampled hundreds of songs. In this one, they sampled Edwin Birdsong's "Cola Bottle Baby" and built everything from little samplers of different songs making it impossible to identify them. They also took a big influence from Kraftwerk even in the "pretence" of being robots.

I don't know when exactly between the 90‘s and 2000’s record labels started producing mainstream and dance music with the label ‘house music’ but it wasn't. this song was made with a talkbox btw, basically its when you attach a hose to a speaker and you do the "wah wah" sound with your mouth without speaking.
it goes like this:
source of sound (keyboard or guitar) -> funnel the sound of the speakers into a hose -> put the other end of the hose in your mouth and just do the talking movements without actually speaking.
it's really fun when you figure it out :D
