Haven't seen a real racing driver to keep his left hand at 11:00 on the steering wheel - this must be new, plus the thumb is not even locked inside the steering wheel. Other cars on the track have not twice less engine capacity, but maybe 5 times less :) That Trabant is 601 cc two stroke if with original motor :)

@@mikebockey4125 how? Genuinely curious. Fiberglass/Kevlar/Carbon body panels to replace the duroplast?

@@dennisyoung4631, if you build an f body for racing there’s so much metal that can be removed once you’re tied together with the cage frame. plus seats, door glass, insulation, dashboard. and for me, i was doing it back in the 80’s. i can’t imagine how much newer, lighter weight substitutions are available nowadays vs. then. we’d never even heard of kevlar in the mid 80’s. but ya, when it comes to shredding the vehicles weight down for race day the sky, your imagination and your checkbook are the only real limits. some of the last f bodies built squashed down on the suspension at almost 2 ton. when i was building them we’d have them on the track with cage, 455 or 400, muncie 4 speed, one seat and the vitals right about 3,000 lbs. depends on what you’re doing with it too. (scca, drag racing, trans am circuit, road race, blah blah) -they’ve all got their rules as i’m sure you’re aware.

I know he's out there just having fun but he should move into a class that is more in his class.. I would want to run with cars that are equal to my beast.. not run with cars that I have 400 hp over..
