Maddon just played Bochy perfectly after the Zobrist double. He took out Russell, a righty and brought in Coghlan, a lefty he never intended on using because he knew Bochy would switch to a lefty cause that's just always what he does when a lefty comes up, no matter what. Cubs ended up with the right handed Contreras, hitting 600 in that post season against a lefty and won the game.

B V Doubt it. No pitching, We should of traded Bryant, Putting Rose as head coach was a mistake. And we should of traded Schwarber to AL and should of gotten an Arenado type third base and a pitcher. Cubs have the money to go over the luxury tax easily. Been a blind fan is one thing but we should also be realistic and know we’re not good right now. The little we played in the dessert we looked real bad and per statistic we were headed to a third-fourth position the Central.

No, sorry. Been a Cubs fan far too long not to know pretty much every playoff appearance the Cubs have made. In '86 they went 70-90 and finished in 5th place. That playoff three-run comeback record was for MLB at the time. Go Cubs, go! Cheers....

People don’t understand this was only game 4 but the cubs really didn’t want to see Cueto in a deciding game 5. He was nails that year.

Tom M True. I now live in Utah, but when I was growing up in Chicago, after another year not winning it all, there’s was “well, there’s always next year.” After Cubs were eliminated in 2017, it became, “there’s always last year.” I guess now it’s “there’s always . . . er . . . 4 years ago.”

I really miss pitchers being able to come out after one batter. The big problem is that it took a ton of time, and commercials always in between but the manager strategy was always so intriguing. Bring it back and just don’t allow a TV break at least in the playoffs.

@Dusty Grady I knew our bullpen would fail. Our bullpen was terrible all year, I knew our run was going to end with them. I just wish it was 5-5 going into the 9th and Chicago hit a game sealing homerun, not 5-2 and a terrible chokejob.
