When Cleveland tied it in the 8th - most numb/don't even know what to feel moment of all my sports watching. Made me wonder if I'd ever see the Cubs win it all. While 2016 has the edge in the category of history and Game 7, 2017 has other factors that make it better.
      1. The games were tighter and more competitive. 5 of 7 games were decided by two runs or fewer. Plus, there were two epic games while the 2016 World Series only had one. There were so many momentum swings in 2017.
      2. 2017 had two 100-win teams going against each other. 2016 had one 100-win team. So in hindsight, 2017 was like a heavyweight fight while 2016 was like a heavyweight matching up against a light heavyweight.
      3. Although 2016 could be looked at as either a Cubs comeback or an Indians choke, 2017 saw both teams that had no control until Game 7.
I think both the Astros and Dodgers of 2016 would've beaten Cleveland as well.
But make no mistake, 2016 was a great World Series. I'm just giving the edge to 2017 for now.

The Indians were lucky to have a 3-1 lead to begin with. They were only able to pull it off through the incredible pitching of the only three real starters that they had and timely hitting. They were riding high with an insane amount of momentum going into this series. In reality they were already an injury plagued team who were without their best hitter in Brantley. And they only got to the world series because their pitching carried them. You can only rely on that for so long before it comes back to haunt you, and it didn't just haunt the Indians, it fucked them over.
Look at the stark contrast and difference from the way Kluber and Miller, Cleveland's two most valuable players, performed in game 7 compared to their previous outings in the series. They were clearly drained, and were not able to perform up to their usual standards. Kluber at that point was pitching his THIRD game in that world series. That is absolute insanity. How can you honestly expect anyone to perform consistently at that point. Imagine if they had Bauer or Carrasco in their rotation for that series. All of a sudden, we're looking at a completely different situation in regards to the possible outcome of this series.
In reality, this was the only real chance the Indians had of even winning this series. Run a three man pitching rotation and hope for the best. And it almost worked. But against a team that is clearly superior to you when it comes to hitting and even pitching, if your best guys are not performing up to standards, there's only so much you can do. And hell, even then, the Indians at least put up a fight. They didn't give up. They didn't choke. They fought back. They gave the Cubs a run for their money. Fucking Rajai Davis, a guy known for his base running, hit a homer off of Chapman who hadn't given up a homerun in years and actually gave Cleveland a chance to win the series. And even when the Cubs scored again in extras, the Indians fought right back. They went down fighting, in the most respectable matter possible, which is more than can be said for the Warriors.
People don't give the Indians shit for this because they deserve nothing but credit and admiration for the fight they put up in this series. They deserve admiration just for making it to the world series in the first place.

An interesting note here: After Bryant's HR at 10:25, the Cubs NEVER TRAILED SINCE for the rest of the series.
Sure, the game may have been tied, but they either tied it or had the lead.
Game 5 = They go up 3 to 0 and win the game 3 to 2.
Game 6 = They go up 7 to 0 after 3 Innings. They win the game 9 to 3.
Game 7 = Man, this game was a roller coaster for sure.
Cubs score in the 1st inning, Indians score in the bottom of 3rd. Tied 1 to 1.
Cubs get 2 in the 4th and 2 in the 5th to go up 5 to 1.
Indians get 2 back in the bottom of the 5th, making it 5 to 3.
Ross solo HR in the top of the 6th makes it 6 to 3.
We all know what happened in the bottom of the 8th, let's not talk about it. The game is tied.
After the rain delay, Cubs get 2 in the top of the 10th, going up 8 to 6.
Indians get 1 in the bottom, but Cubs hold the win.
The fact they never trailed since Game 5, is actually amazing, especially when the Cubs bullpen constantly loves to blow it.
I'm glad they didn't and held on for the Win.

This series was poetry, a beautiful story that had so many unforeseen plot twists and shifts that made it what it is, in my opinion, the greatest World Series ever. And as I'm watching this in a different home, in a different time, I think to myself that everything was going to be just fine. I mean, this team hadn't won it all since 1908 and they played like it. There was no motivation in my life, at that point, and nothing like this series inspires it more. I don't care what anyone says, this series is the most beautiful sporting event out there. You can say Michael Jordan might be more iconic, but what this team represented meant far more. You can do anything.

If Game 7 isn't THE greatest MLB game ever, it's unquestionably top 3.
These highlights were fantastic but I would have also included Schwarber's hard single to lead off the 10th, followed by the most underappreciated play of the entire series: Albert Almora pinch running and tagging from 1st to 2nd on Bryant's deep flyout to center. Almora advancing to 2nd with 1 out forced Cleveland to walk Rizzo before Zobrist came up mega clutch. The Cubs 10th was OUTSTANDING team baseball.

False. Any one that says 2017 was somehow greater than 2016 because of 1 game doesn't know what they're talking about. Game 5 2017 was f--ing amazing, but that series pales in comparison to this one. 2017 doesn't even rank second.
      1) 2016
      2) 2001
      3) 2011

I miss seeing Rizzo, Bryant, Baez, Schwarber, Russell, Lester and Arrieta suiting up in Cubs blue, but these memories can never be taken away. Sadly, I don't think I'll see another Cubs pennant race or WS ring in my lifetime, but hey, we had to wait 108 years for this one so there's die hard Cubs fans who have been though much more hardship before us.
