This series was absolutely exhausting - I've watched 35 World Series and have seen great ones and seen duds, but never anything as draining as this one was. Teams were so evenly matched - a 7-game series where the total runs scored was 34-34.

I think it's a tie between this year and last years. Like it was extremely long drought vs extremely long drought, then it was drought vs never. The MLB is probably one of the best sport to have at least one different team going for the title each year.

As a Los Angelino who lived his whole life loving the dodgers, Seeing Vin Scully say "It's time for dodger baseball" and come in from an explosive season, I was heartbroken. It was a incredible series and looking at this again it's just... bittersweet.

Molon Lave - to be fair, EVERYBODY on that team had an 'inability to drive in runs' during the World Series. Ensberg had a fantastic year and was a huge reason why the Stros were even IN the series. The ChiSox pitching was great in that series, too.
Although I am a Mets fan, this series was pretty good. Maybe not as good as the 2016 WS, but watching WS games until midnight was worth it. Congrats to the Astros!
This World Series was much better than 2016. The only reason 2016 was considered a good series was the tension filled game 7 and high stakes. Aside from that it was very standard, whereas this series featured two improbable comebacks and multiple broken records.

Just recently I looked up this highlight compilation to refresh my mind, and the back and forth of every game was incredible Also keep in mind that the Astros didn’t have home field advantage and played 3 games at home, and just winning two of them. I would have imagined the first 5 innings of game 7 were much more stressful for you. Dodgers went through 13 batters with runners in scoring position. Thankfully only one got a hit. I'm a Giants fan and my heart was pounding even when it was 5-0 in the 2nd inning. I hate the Dodgers and am so relieved they lost.
Honestly, even after Springer homered, I still had stress. The 5th and 6th innings were stressful even when we were up by 4. The 9th inning was a sense of hope and I was never content until the last out.
I'm a lifelong Giants fan. We have 2010,2012 and 2014 Crowns. I still enjoy rewatching Game 7 of the 2012 NLCS when we beat the SHIT out of the Cards. I HATE the Cards.

It's sad because I think that those young guys didn't realize how corrupt the Astros organization was. Guys like Altuve, Bregman, Correa, they probably would have preferred to try to win straight up, without cheating. But, the Royals actually played at Minute Maid very early in the Season, before the cheating scheme was put in place, and KC won 2 of 3, so I don't think you can count the Royals among the victims.

However, the Astros knew that the in order to win the World Series, they had to get to the bullpen, which the D-Backs and Cubs failed to do. The Astros did that. Also studied the 2017 Dodgers and 2018 Red Sox and the statistics are much more balanced. Imagine not having to read scouting reports or watch films late at night, trying to figure out pitcher tendencies. Being a hardcore Astros fan since 1998 and enduring a silly owner and managers and losing seasons and terrible trades it was all worth it for this World Series. This may be the last World Series me and my father get to see together and I am damn proud that these teams made it what it was.
An update to the cheating scandal people should be aware of. Recently, the man in the Astros video room responsible for relaying the video feed from the camera in CF to the dugout recently did an AMA on Reddit (1st week of October 2023). One of the things he said was that the Danny Fahrquar game was the last game they used the system and if there was any attempt to use the system in the postseason, the fans would be too loud for them to hear it. So there you have it. The regular season was of course tainted but the postseason and World Series run were legit, at home and on the road. Additionally, it was used in 2017, and in 2018 until Danny Fahrquar and not used in 2019 at all.
Want to know what's weird, that in 2014 the Giants win the WS, in 2015 the Royals win the WS, in 2016 the Cubs win the WS, and in 2017 the Astros win the WS. If you don't see the pattern, the last four WS finals have switched. The pattern is National League in 2014, then American League in 2015, again National League in 2016, finally American League in 2017.
Add 2012 with the Giants and 2013 with the Red Sox. So it's been six straight years where the winners have alternated. So technically, the winner will be in the National League.
What's even stranger is that from 1966-1971, the winners have been switched, AL in even and NL in odd. Now, from 2012-2017, tables have turned, NL in even, AL in odd. MLB is really "illuminati" after World Series.

I think the greatest marketing gimmick is if the Cub's Anthony Rizzo takes on the nickname 'Ratso' after the infamous Midnight Cowboy character. Finally, when his career is over he would be a perfect color man to team up with Joe Buck. Joe Buck and Ratso Rizzo, together again!

Molon Lave - to be fair, EVERYBODY on that team had an 'inability to drive in runs' during the World Series. Ensberg had a fantastic year and was a huge reason why the Stros were even IN the series. The ChiSox pitching was great in that series, too.

This World Series was much better than 2016. The only reason 2016 was considered a good series was the tension filled game 7 and high stakes. Aside from that it was very standard, whereas this series featured two improbable comebacks and multiple broken records.

I would have imagined the first 5 innings of game 7 were much more stressful for you. Dodgers went through 13 batters with runners in scoring position. Thankfully only one got a hit. I'm a Giants fan and my heart was pounding even when it was 5-0 in the 2nd inning. I hate the Dodgers and am so relieved they lost.
Honestly, even after Springer homered, I still had stress. The 5th and 6th innings were stressful even when we were up by 4. The 9th inning was a sense of hope and I was never content until the last out.
Uh, it was still stressful until about the 8th when it was obvious Morton had it in the bag.
After watching how neither team ever gave up, I didn't breathe easy until Yuli had. the. last. out. in. his. glove.

Also studied the 2017 Dodgers and 2018 Red Sox and the statistics are much more balanced. I do respect Jose Altuve- I think he is very talented and according to Correa, Altuve was disgusted by the cheating, and got angry when teammates tried to feed him signs. But the fact of the matter is that he had the best year of his career in 2017. It's a massive advantage. Imagine not having to read scouting reports or watch films late at night, trying to figure out pitcher tendencies. In fact, you don't even need to scout opposing pitchers - a huge advantage over teams that were trying to compete honestly. Being a hardcore Astros fan since 1998 and enduring a silly owner and managers and losing seasons and terrible trades it was all worth it for this World Series. This may be the last World Series me and my father get to see together and I am damn proud that these teams made it what it was.

An update to the cheating scandal people should be aware of. Recently, the man in the Astros video room responsible for relaying the video feed from the camera in CF to the dugout recently did an AMA on Reddit (1st week of October 2023).
One of the things he said was that the Danny Fahrquar game was the last game they used the system and if there was any attempt to use the system in the postseason, the fans would be too loud for them to hear it.
So there you have it. The regular season was of course tainted but the postseason and World Series run were legit, at home and on the road. Additionally, it was used in 2017, and in 2018 until Danny Fahrquar and not used in 2019 at all.

Want to know what's weird, that in 2014 the Giants win the WS, in 2015 the Royals win the WS, in 2016 the Cubs win the WS, and in 2017 the Astros win the WS. If you don't see the pattern, the last four WS finals have switched. The pattern is National League in 2014, then American League in 2015, again National League in 2016, finally American League in 2017.
Add 2012 with the Giants and 2013 with the Red Sox. So it's been six straight years where the winners have alternated. So technically, the winner will be in the National League.
What's even stranger is that from 1966-1971, the winners have been switched, AL in even and NL in odd.
Now, from 2012-2017, tables have turned, NL in even, AL in odd. MLB is really "illuminati" after World Series.
