Great vid. 2 suggestions: stoll’s Alley and walking the Ravenel Bridge. if you would like a wonderful walk downtown search on your phone for STOLL’s ALLEY. It is a narrow cobblestone public road that you can walk down and it’s several blocks long. It is wonderful as it in essence goes through the backyards of some of the historic beauties. If you are quiet and respectful you can get in a little extra sightseeing on peoples homes and properties but still be on a public street. It is in the lower peninsula near the battery. The Ravenel Bridge goes from the peninsula to Mount Pleasant and has a very wide walking and biking path. Pro tip: park on the Mount Pleasant side there’s a gas station at the foot of the bridge. Take plenty of water between the warmth and the wind you’ll need it and there is no water supply over the bridge. If you walk completely over end to end I believe it’s 5 miles. It is my favorite walk in Charleston you can see the peninsula, fort Sumter the boats, fish and even sometimes dolphins. This is a must do every time I’m in town no matter what time of year
So many fun recs!! You guys obviously had a great time. When my husband and I went last year, we ate at Hall's twice!! Their Sunday Gospel brunch is not to be missed. Food and music were absolute perfection!! I'll definitely put some of the other places on our list for next time!
Charleston looks so beautiful, we live 4 hrs away and were gonna go but two weeks before our trip my daughters cat got attacked by a pit bulldog, the vet thought it would have to be put down but she took care of him night and day after we got him back from the vet and he's healthy and running around again. I'm so glad you've shown places and things to do as we intend on going next year sans no more accidents. Happy Anniversary to you and your husband!!!!
Just came across this video since I'm thinking of moving to Charleston and you are literally an angel and have such a sweet presence about you and thought I would let you know because it's rare to find someone with that radiating energy! Keep up your vlogs girl!
I'm a native and enjoyed your presentation. Great a to see an outsiders impression of my home town. Very well done One of my favorite restaurants for special occassions is Circa 1885 at the Wentworth Mansion. We go each year on our anniversary with my Citadel roommate and his wife. We married 7 days apart so we celebrate together.
happy anniversary Ashley !!! i really love your channel. can you we have a video on starting a new job as a secretary? planners, some organisation tips etc :-)
Thanks, Christina! : ) Have you seen my Work Essentials video? That's probably the best advice I have. I've really been using the Getting Things Done Method by David Allen and the Pomodoro Technique to stay organized at work. Thomas Frank has awesome tips. His channel is directed toward college students, but so many of his videos are applicable for work as well.
if you Ever go Again, take a Ride up to Summerville, for Steaks the Ice House, and Seafood Capt Quarters, and just a relaxed outdoor cafe if you there in the good weather or summer, the Dog and the Duck
Those meticulously maintained houses were not so until after Hugo (hurricane 1989). Shutters were hanging off the fronts of some houses till the "big payout".
I love Charleston! It was my home for the past 8 years; where I married the love of my life, and my daughter's birthplace! My favorite spot would have to be Sugar bake shop on Cannon st. They have the most amazing cupcakes!
We were in Charleston last spring and we couldn't get a reservation at Husk for dinner either... So we did lunch there instead and it was INCREDIBLE. My husband is a big fan of cheeseburgers (I might even venture to say he's a connoisseur) and he said he had the best cheeseburger of his life there. All of Charleston is full of good food though - can't wait to go back and visit some of your recommendations!
I'm headed to Charleston this week- we are actually staying at the Tides on Folly Beach for this visit. We go every year because my father-in-law lives there. We have reservations for dinner at FIG. Also- can't wait to eat at Lost Dog and Taco Boy in Folly. We go to Jeni's ice cream every day. And there's another natural beauty store in Mt Pleasant called Oh Beautiful- it's right next to a cute clothing store. We always go to Hominy Grill too- biscuits and blueberry jam are amazing!! You mentioned a lot of places I don't know that I'll have to find- especially those coffee shops!!
Thanks, Ashley!! Awesome video :0) I hope you do more of these videos - very informative. Charleston is on my list of "must visit" and....now, I have ideas on places to check out thanks to you! :0)
My hometown is Mt Pleasant SC and I love it here ❤️ not many people actually from here that live here BC people vacation here and move. You def did it justice with this video. I'm glad you enjoyed it here! The spiders were probably banana spiders!!
Hi Ashley! I've been a long time subscriber and you've influenced many of my purchases lol Recently I've been getting into green beauty and I was wondering if you could do a full face of your green beauty favorites :)
Hi Ashley, Your anniversary trip sounded so wonderful! What shade of Hynt Beauty lipstick did you get? I have Pinkbelle and it is a cool pink. So many charming places you mentioned. Thanks for sharing! 😊💕
I moved from Loudoun to Charleston 16 years ago. Always love running into fellow Loudouner’s (and Fairfax folks too!) Next time anyone is down, I have a whole list of off the beaten path places that’ll blow your mind!
Yay! Loved seeing this guide. I was the gal that recommended Indaco (which I have no idea how to say either!). So glad you guys loved it. It was a fave of ours too 🙌
Hey! If you are talking about the medium drawstring tote, then yes, I'm definitely thinking about it. : )) I might have to sell one that I currently have to justify it, though. Don't want to have too many and not get use out of them all, you know?
I have that one! It's awesome (I talk about it briefly in my last video). The size is really nice, and I love the front pocket - it might be perfect for you if the original is too big. : ))
While waiting to see if our house is going to flood I took time to remove myself from our current situation. Always ❤️your videos, thank you for taking me away from this hurricane for just a bit with limited LTE service
You seem like a very kind person and I love that you care about nature and are cruelty free, I was totally surprised and frankly disappointed that you eat animals☹️

You did such a good job making the absolute most of your trip to Charleston
Such a nice video!
I live in Brazil and I'm planning a trip to the area you live.
It would be great if you could make a video with recommendations!
Those meticulously maintained houses were not so until after Hugo (hurricane 1989). Shutters were hanging off the fronts of some houses till the "big payout".
Happy anniversary to both of you. What a great place to celebrate and you have given a lovely presentation Ashley. Thanks and regards, Deb.

Seems like such a wonderful place to live! We did visit Sugar Bake Shop after Mac & Murphy - so cute! I had the Vanilla Blueberry. : ))

Happy Anniversary Ashley, so glad you guys had a great time! ♥️
Thanks so much!
Charleston hasn't been on my radar as a vacation spot, but you've totally sold it to me! Thanks for sharing so much with us!
I've been to Charleston once and I really want to go back. Beautiful city.
Thank you for the beautiful video. I'm wondering, what lip stick do you use? It looks gorgeous))

Helpful video. I applaud Ashely taking pride in her red hair. I love red hair and a ruddy complexion on a girl. Redheads are the prettiest.

As a Charleston resident, so happy you had a good time
Come back in March or April to see the azaleas in bloom. It's incredible and cooler.
Thanks, Joan! Yes, I'd love for my next visit to be in cooler weather. I love your city, and if Jer had his way, we would be neighbors. ; )
makeupTIA only thing you missed was a trip to some of the shem creek seafood restaurants in mount pleasant side of the bridge
.A local favorite
Personally, I think it's prettier downtown when the crape myrtles are in bloom. Magnolia plantation is a must go when the azaleas are in bloom.
I wish to go on April. May meet you there.
Happy Anniversary Ashley! :)
I love love ❤️ Charleston!!! I used to live there and still visit to vacay! So fabulous
Hi Ashley, Your anniversary trip sounded so wonderful! What shade of Hynt Beauty lipstick did you get? I have Pinkbelle and it is a cool pink. So many charming places you mentioned. Thanks for sharing! 😊💕

I'm planning a trip in October! Did you guys fly or drive? Currently looking for a good flight!
Pearlz restaurant! On East Bay Street! It’s a bit fancy but I think it’s very worth it! Very beautiful!! :)
Hey Ashley! I noticed Madewell had a new Medium Transport Tote. Have you thought about adding it to your collection? ;) :)
Hey! If you are talking about the medium drawstring tote, then yes, I'm definitely thinking about it. : )) I might have to sell one that I currently have to justify it, though. Don't want to have too many and not get use out of them all, you know?
The Medium Transport Tote, actually! I always thought the classic Transport Tote was a tad too big for me. Hmmm....
I have that one! It's awesome (I talk about it briefly in my last video). The size is really nice, and I love the front pocket - it might be perfect for you if the original is too big. : ))
Oh shoot, well I'll go look now! Thanks!
