I can't help but imagine Krugg accidentally ending up with another long fortress and having to constantly say that long-ass fortress name every single episode
We found them below the waves. Fish men, nine of them, adorned with golden baubles & carrying bone harpoons. They stayed with us for a time, speaking of their deep gods, old cities, & the crushing darkness of the cosmos. Trade is all they seek, all they ask for is nets & spears, but it troubles me. We will see them again next year, mid summer. They promised.

Perhaps a fort on the seas. Once this part is set, dig down to the caverns and use the skills these dwarves have developed to build on top of the lakes.
Good use of negative space, the tree and sign initially draw that eye to that, then leading you to the dwarf rising out of the fort, giving a nice refreshing feeling of walking out into the salty coastal air.

I only ask you to make this a series, its brilliant, and you are the only one on youtube that i know of that can do this! And i need to fill my weeks after honeystoker.

Our were turtle... is he an AQUATIC were turtle? You should build a second semi-aquatic dungeon, a sewer if you will. And find a way to mutate, I mean infect dwarves with the transformation (maybe three more or so?), and have them become an elite ninja unit!
Really?! This was actually a *fairly* simple thing to do. Actually, it would have been MUCH easier if I just walled off an area and pumped out the water.

I don't care, what I just saw built is amazing and I'm not ready to stop looking at it. A fort on the ocean that functions as an ocean trap... But also, it's full of angry Norwegian dorfs in a way and that's a fun idea. Krugg will ad in story if he keeps this one but I'm strictly speaking in love with the mechanics of it all. Oh! And when it fails as all things dwarf do, it's going to be spectacular! Interestingly enough and if I missed something here, I'm sorry but Krugg made a baby talk sound at the start of the video. Baby sound is adding a soft "wu" sound in place of an "r" sound... Like talking to a child, playing up the way a child talks for sake of a story, talking to an Animal and I know he has his little dog who I hope is well, or Krugg may have had a stroke while editing the video... All the same though, OCEAN FORT!

When working with lots of water it might be worth building a minecart swim trainer for your dwarfs, just to make sure they have a chance if dropped into water. Do it underground to prevent freezing while dwarfs are swimming, because that leads to instant death :/
You lie like a drunk dwarf, this is but the beginning of another massive series, I can feel it! You won't be satisfied until you've hunted a fine sea beast! Then 30 more!
And the whole fort falls apart due to a tantrum spiral... or a Forgotten Beast with Poisonous Blood... or cats with alcohol poisoning and resulting starvation.

And finally, as soon as you mentioned the farm on the platform, I was reminded of Waterworld, ha! One stupid dwarf trick that would keep with the oceanic theme of the fort would be to build a lighthouse tower! But how to light it up? I am guessing that the sinister magma glow would work in a pinch, hur hur hur. Cheers, you bearded bastard!

Amazing episode as always. Here's an idea: trap invading goblins in a ship-shaped wooden platform, and then destroy it with a catapult! Extra points if you leave high quality pirate clothing for the goblins to wear on the "ship".

Out of the Blue, I remenbered this and daydreamed about Sea fortresses for a while. I got an ideia on How to make a Sea fortress on a warm/hot biome withouth Needing massive pumps: Throw magma over the Ocean and then Channel - then another layer of magma, layer and layer until reaching the Bottom of the Sea. Going to test It next Fortress I make and dedicate It to Arelgulnas Kathilmigrurosor Ngitkar

Krugg, one thing that might be really nice as an appendix to short forts like this is tips for all the new players you inspire about how you're dealing with the various challenges the biome you are in present. I know I was shocked when I did my first ocean fortress and realized that they basically make starving impossible, and have some really interesting automation options. As an example of that, switches in the surf wired up to spikes make a permanent danger room or danger hall. They can make doors flap or make trapdoors over dump zones cycle.

Remember that each year in Dwarf Fortress is at least 1 to 3 hours in real time, excluding the times when the game is paused... Krugg is pouring a lot of time into these videos!

I know I was shocked when I did my first ocean fortress and realized that they basically make starving impossible, and have some really interesting automation options.
As an example of that, switches in the surf wired up to spikes make a permanent danger room or danger hall. They can make doors flap or make trapdoors over dump zones cycle.
Man, the soundtrack is a bomb!
