    Decks 30-32 are the secret Section 31 parts of the ship... 😁

    Star Trek 5 = Sybok playing with their heads like a mental defence? 😂 It gave me horror/bad dream type stretched corridor vibes.

    This also happened in one episode of Voyager. So they mentioned multiple times that it has 15 decks but in live first and prosper Janeway listens to the crew state various problems and one crew member says there's an issue on deck c and another crew member states there's a problem on Deck 22.

    Well, the Enterprise E has 26 decks and 29 decks and a bottomless pit! Haha

  • @sicus0
    @sicus0 17 дней назад +5

    Maybe they skipped deck 13 because its bad luck, if they skip two more, the bad luck numbers of vulcans and klingons, you can have deck 32 but only 29 decks. 😉

      There is a trope in Horror movies to do that say there is no floor 13.. only there is, only there isn't only there is.

    There are a bunch of references in S2 of Prodigy that felt fun, but I also think they included it because of LD's success.

  • @DojhromTRW
    @DojhromTRW 17 дней назад

    I feel like decks in most discussions within the crew can refer to floors people can walk on, then you also have thinner sub decks for pipes, conduits, etc, including Jeffries tubes. that can bring the total count higher.

    Funny in German dub Never sad Decks 32. High Decks was 29

    • @Penfolduk001
      @Penfolduk001 17 дней назад +3

      That suggests it was a genuine mistake, but caught at the German end of things

  • @PsychoStreak

    Pretty clear it's a callback to earlier mistakes, and a way to make Ma'jel's ride take even longer than it logically should.
    I thought it was funny.
    Given the love and detail they put into so many elements if this season (that office for example), there's no way they weren't aware of this.

    to be honest, it may be that the numbers are not the numerical numbers of decks, but the numbers assigned to a deck (which are actually random numbers from 1 to 100)
    I think some navies do that...
    this means deck A, B, C etc. is thesame in all ships of thesame class, but it might be numbered differently on different ships.

  • @grantalbrecht4577
    @grantalbrecht4577 16 дней назад

    I imagine there was a little robot whose job was to fly around and label all the decks but it was malfunctioning like everything on the ship and just painted on random numbers.

    With Prodigy, and being a Vulcan, someone is playing a joke on them. Convince them to go to a deck and bay that don’t exist, have a laugh when they say they couldn’t find it (or if they “lie” about finding it).

    Star trek V - Enterprise became a Tardis device. The Voyager wanted to hide a top secret craft.

  • @foxpianocovers
    @foxpianocovers 2 дня назад

    Simple: Star Trek V exists as a dream in Kirk’s head. Makes sense when you think about it…

    If it was deliberate then I'm not giving it a pass. Making mistakes for the sake of references doesn't sit well with me.

    Don't ask hard questions like what happened in star trek 5.
    They flew to the center of the galaxy and back. With the sustainable speed of the Enterprise back then, that trip would have taken over 200 years. (Under the assumption that the constitution refit actually could maintain warp 7(old scale) long term)
    With all those impossible things shown, I have to assume it was just a fever dream Kirk had.

    The Final Frontier mistake bothers me so much because having the decks count down to 1 would work much better with the tension of the scene. The numbers going arbitrarily higher doesn't emphasize the risk the way a literal countdown would.

    Not sure if you are aware, but one of the graphic designers for Prodigy, Dominique Rossier, posted a high res of the Voyager-A LCARS on her Artstation account.

    ST:V The final frontier was commander spock's rather deadpan humourous report notating questionable deck signs as to prodigy's voyager-A they have three hangar bays one's a top open secret hush hush bay and i've always assumed that the average shuttlebay size is two decks tall and a smidge.

  • @90lancaster
    @90lancaster 17 дней назад

    I thought there was 3 shuttlebay's the 3rd one being the drop bay they kept the "secret ship" in.

  • @thelifedyslexic
    @thelifedyslexic 15 дней назад

    Turbo lift numbers in ST V is the least of my issues with that scene. How does Spock go up a few deck to get jet boots wirh getting caught. If he knew a short cut why not take Kirk and McCoy?:
    Having recently just rewatched STV got it has some beautiful shots in it opening 10 minutes and whole movie has scene of adventures, sailing into the unknown and really plays to the strangrh of Kirk, Spock McCoy dynamic.

  • @SnowmanTF2
    @SnowmanTF2 17 дней назад

    The easiest way I could see ST5 numbers working would be door openings are numbered, and there can be multiple per deck (which IIRC blueprints of Enterprise D implied did happen at least by that point in federation ship design). Plus why most are labeled deck are most turbo stops are at a deck, but some might go to a service space like Jeffries tube, other non deck equipment access space, or external hatch. Granted that still does not explain repeated number, unless each number is on a linear tube with their own numbered order, and that turbolift briefly merged with a higher priority line so used that numbering, though if that happened then probably which line you are in should be marked on plate too even if just by color changes.

    Problem is guys like Sternbach and Probert had aerospace and engineering backgrounds, thus they designed their ships INSIDE out. Modern guys at STO and game and graphics designed the ships outside in.

    • @agnosticnixie
      @agnosticnixie 12 дней назад

      Even if you check the TNG movies the tension is there between vfx team and the schematics designers (my impression of Eaves is that he also designs from the outside in, less blatantly with the E, moreso with the Scimitar and the Steamrunner, and some of his newer stuff)

  • @juappdev

    Star trek 5 is probably easiest to explain if the sign is a marker for "Deck" and the number is just a unit of measurement for height

    Fo shame, @Trekyards! You entirely missed out on the Enterprise-E having 24 decks in First Contact (as stated by Picard), only to have the same Enterprise-E to have 29+ decks in Nemesis.

    • @SGUDistantHope
      @SGUDistantHope 15 дней назад

      In fairness the E in Nemesis is a different version, totally different exterior paint and what not.
      We picked the most famous times that deck numbers in ones own script was messed up. Between films is different to in the same film.
      Didnt miss anything, it was just not our intention to include.
