Great breakdown of the ship as always. I would like to see you breakdown the new USS Premonition model that was added to Star Trek Online. I think it looks like a cross between the Sovereign, Vesta, and Luna classes. You should revisit the Achilles Class again since it has been added to Star Trek Online, giving us a better model to examine. Also, the Exeter, Quasar, and Aurora classes got a revamped models in the game that are worth a look. Especially the Aurora.
I've been driving this ship for around a week or so and I had always imagined that third nacelle to be a sensor array (like the oberth secondary hull). It makes total sense that it would be more of a temporal drive and I really like that they have actually given a visible accessory to the time ship aspect, rather than just have it "do stuff".
I watched the old video not so long ago, I often get recommend the older videos to rewatch and often do so. It is nice to revisit a time when this was a Starship focused channel & coverage went deeper than "a first look" type video that is functionally an introduction or overview rather than the deep dives of yor.
I like a forward and back shuttle doors on saucer, presuming a most of deck shuttle bay similar to D. As that should allow for way more launches and recoveries than one door at the back; due to improved traffic flow in the saucer, should allowing faster approaching and departure from ship with less congestion, plus if one had an issue likely gives more time to use a tractor beam on before hitting something going different direction.
hmm the configuration looks just like the playmates protype enterprise E toy i used to have, lol nice i like how the impulse engines reminds of proto C Enterprise impulse engines :)
Impulse engines look like red versions of the Ent-D garage door for its primary shuttle bay. I know obv the engine wouldnt roll up, but the surface detail has a similarity.
The Back looks different in the STO Version. Like the Sovereign and Aventine had a Child.^^ Seing it now in STO as well... I kind of want to get one myself.^^
I have to wonder if, like the refitted 1701, when it was traveling at impulse speed, the deflector was a subdued bronze color, but once it was at warp, it changed to the fan-favorite brilliant blue. With this in mind, would it be the same for the 1701-E?
The ship was designed by an old SFC modder called Pneumonic85.. hope im recalling his name correctly, its been a LOT of years since then. He was hired by a couple of the game devs at the time to design ships for there games, Armada, not sure if he even designed ships for SFC2 but he did SFCIII and also Dominion Wars as well off the top of my head. The ship resembles the First Contact time period as you'd imagine it takes design ideas from the Sovereign but it's and ugly as fuck ship! xD You could probably just put that Time Pod on any ship that can carry it.
@@choalithikanthe2422 we will! its crazy..we filmed this a few weeks ago...had no idea this new sto bundle was coming out. The timing of our video and the sto content is insane haha!!!
I feel like Federeration time-fleets have a somewhat regrettable naming scheme. You'd think if you were sneaking around in time you wouldn't want to advertise the timeywimeyness in every communication. :)
Used to love this ship... And in less than two minutes, you made me hate it. Thankfully, the "third nacelle" of course isn't a nacelle...so I can ignore that crap. Third nacelles are trash. PAIRS...they come in PAIRS. Period. If you really need odd numbers...then you need nacelles that look completely different in form and apparent operation than regular nacelles. To signify that normal nacelles come in pairs, and if there's an odd number it's something else entirely. Like two completely separate sets of full-size coils in a single housing. Consistency is more important than style.
ok, just saying this, how can two guys who like star trek starship fanboy over something and still get so much wrong, "oh they need to have temporal escape pods so they can go back to their original time line." I am sorry if you every played the game the ship came from you would have more sense then to say this.

Shame STO doesn't have the original design style as an option. The whole thing could benefit from some Luna class components.
But she is sovie based not luna

@barrybend7189 to me she will always be a sovoe cousin. Luna class wouldn't really exist in that timeline

Whenever you want to guess how many decks a ship has, it always is 78 decks 😂
Dun dun dun dun! Thats the power of time!

When comparing to the Enterprise E, can you use the escape pods to determine size?
Great work, Commander.
That neck cutout does make me think of how some old people have those two tendons sticking out with no flesh in between....

Did Sam do that beautiful shot of the Enterprise flying at the beginning?
Yep, i do all the 3d annimations!
would have been nice to fill in the upper cavernous part of the deflector area with material similar to the neck of the excelsior.
Was the ship designed for the mission, or was the 3rd nacelle an addition to an existing class? Would be nice to see it without it.
compare the older versions of ships to the newer versions release in star trek online
STO released a heritage bundle trailer which has this ship but it's a 25th century ship & this version in you vid is not in the game.
Yes, Sto made their own design :)
Would love to hear Trekyards' take on the STO version and its Y2K Gaming Brothers.
