seriously ?! only 800 subscribers? wow. honestly surprised after watching this video. you’re awesome and this videos amazing. funny, fun, great footage. list goes on. amazing work man. earned a sub for sure
You must be focusing on the commercial side rather than your RUclips. This video had me 😂😂😂😂. I absolutely loved it. I found it because I am selling my Sony a6300 and all my lenses to get a Lumix Gh5 with the kit lens and this one in your video. I love the look of the Lumix footage straight out of the camera way more than my Sony. Thanks for the footage; it really does help!
Hi Timothy, thx! I really appreciate that. To be honest I am still diligently working on my color grading trying to really figure things out. But, I am glad you liked the vid! Gotta finish up all my wedding edits so I can make some more RUclips videos lol.
Wow, thank you so much for the content. Your channel will grow! Just a quick question, do you need an adaptor to mount the sigma 16mm f1.4 to GH5? Thanks
I appreciate that! I am hoping to start making videos a little more consistent. Instead of one every month I will try to at least drop one every two weeks. Thanks again for checking out my vids!
Beautiful. Im thinking about this lens but i manually focus 99% of the time for video, how did you find it for that? Im worried about the focus by wire thing, I'm used to old lenses with hard stops.
Hi, thanks! You know I manually focus a lot to and maybe it's because I use it so much I don't really have a problem locking in focus with this lens. Maybe rent it first to try it out?
@@StoryDrivenFilmmaking Just knowing that you use it a lot is enough for me to be confident in it, with focus peaking on i know ill be fine now! Thank you! You just sold a lens, hopefully Sigma sponsorship is right around the corner :D
Hey thanks for the video, just to confirm you didn't need to use the adaptor on your gh5? As when looking online nearly all said Sony mount. Also did does the auto focus seeing that this is not a native lense? Many thanks man
Hi Daniel, Thx for checking out the video. That is correct you will not need an adapter for this lens on the GH5, but, you need to buy the MFT one. I wouldn't recommend auto-focus on the GH5 but if you have to use it this lens works pretty decent. Here is the link to the 16mm that I bought off of Amazon. amzn.to/33tinVF
Hey, 16mm 1.4 on MFT isnt it 32mm (16x2=32mm)...?? Bcoz in description u mentioned that its 24mm, so just curious to know. Also i shifted from Nikon FF/ CROP to Lumix MFT G9, GX85 and wondering hows Sigma 16, 30, 56mm (all contemporary) paired with Lumix G9 (or GH5)...?? Also whats yr opinion about Sigma 18-35 with Viltrox EFM speedbooster....?? Plz sdvise. Cheers
Hey, You are right! I put 24mm because that is what it is on APS-C and that is how it's written for it's spec's on websites and I was trying to list all of the spec's in the description. It is definitely 32mm on Micro 4/3 (I'll update the description). I am a fan of the Viltrox speedbooster because of it's cost. I often pair it on my GH5 with the Sigma 18-35mm and the Samyang 85mm. The auto-focus is not reliable with it in my option but if you are going to be doing manual focus I think it works great. Back to the Sigma 16mm. It is my favorite lens for my GH5 and GH5S. It is sooo light and compared to all of my lenses the autofocus on the GH5 and GH5S works best with that lens.
Hi Hong, I havent used the 15mm 1.7 as of yet. If I try to go wider than the Sigma 16mm, the next lens I'll probably go after is the Lapwa 7.5mm. As of right now if I need to go wider than my 16mm I use my viltrox adapter and my Sigma 18-35mm (so heavy though).
Since I have the GH5 the 16mm handheld is absolutely fantastic. Now, when I use the 16mm on the GH5S (which does not have IS) I will have the camera on a gimbal. This is hands down my favorite lens!
Hi, thank you very much. For this video and the wedding in it I used Premiere CC (This video is actually a re-upload from my other channel. I was originally trying to convert my aquarium channel to a film channel). Anyway, a few months after I made this video I switched to Davinci Resolve (which is what I currently use). Thanks again for the compliment and checking out the video!
Might be the best micro 4/3 lens, but the size contradicts the purpose...? Yes, I get it: for 1.4 to be able to concentrate so much light in there, you need glass bla bla. Still :))))
I think we all agree that Viltrox adapters are not as high quality as Metabones adapters. But if your on a budget and don't need auto-focus I think they are a good option.

It's rare to see such a creative and humorous review that also achieves it's initial purpose! Thanks a lot, subscribed
its* Get educated.
Everything about this video is incredible. I was really surprised to see only 1k subs.
Thanks!
We really appreciated the humour with this review, gear reviews can be really boring but you've done a great job at making it fun, subscribed :)
I appreciate that!
Your grading is absolutely beautiful! Such a fun review too! Thank you for this!

a trick : watch movies on Flixzone. Been using it for watching loads of movies lately.
@Yosef Alfredo Yea, have been watching on Flixzone} for since december myself :)
Very creative video. Nicely done. I’m actually considering moving from Fuji to the Lumix G9
Thank you. While I've never owned the G9 I've used it and it's a great camera.
Wow, thank you so much for the content. Your channel will grow! Just a quick question, do you need an adaptor to mount the sigma 16mm f1.4 to GH5? Thanks
Hi, thank you. Nope, you don't need an adapter for this lens with the GH5. Just make sure you buy the MFT mount version.
Incredible work!!
Thx
I'm a Jamaican photographer who uses M43 and I'm really interested in getting cinematography. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Hi dude, is it possible to set the Sigma 16mm to linear focus on the GH5s or GH6
Very creative bro!!! Your channel is super dope!!!
Hi, thanks a lot!
i cant decide between this lens or the 15 or 20 mm f1.7 g lens, and even the sigma 18-35. but i can only get 1
Love your unique creative style. Breath of fresh air!
Hi, thank you.
Wow man, I'm watching all your video now LOL. Really nice your channel and content man.
I appreciate that! I am hoping to start making videos a little more consistent. Instead of one every month I will try to at least drop one every two weeks. Thanks again for checking out my vids!
You have a very unique channel Thomas....subbed!
Hi Vincent, thank you very much.

Haha, well I know you will love it. I hardly ever use my 18-35mm anymore.
I like the little skit stuff between the review, stands out from other ones. Gonna be looking to get this one soon
Hi, Thank you. It's a great little lens. I love it.
Love your intro btw, very clever and funny 😁
Thank you!

Did you have to have an adapter for this lens mount for the GH5? I cannot find any info on EF-M mounts
Hi, this is a MFT mount lens.
I bought this one off of Amazon. So if you are looking for the MFT mount version here is the link. amzn.to/33tinVF
ThomasVisionFilmsTV so am EF-M will not work on the GH5?
Hi no the GH5 has a MFT mount. If you would like to use a EF-M lens you'll need an adapter.
ThomasVisionFilmsTV thank you! I just canceled my order and ordered the one you had on your link. You are a life saver!
Any luck using AF with this lens? I have a sigma 30mm f1.4 with my g9 and with the recent g9 firmware AF is extremely usable.
Hi Jorge, this video basically summed up my AF experience with the GH5 and GH5s. ruclips.net/video/Yd7gDtv4Vt8/видео.html
@@StoryDrivenFilmmaking thanks bro. Gonna check it out
Subscribing because you're likeable and enjoy the way you present your videos.
I look forward to anything Panasonic or micro for thirds related 👌
Nice! I just got this lens for the canon efm mount. I'm really enjoying it.
Awesome.
Do you use any ND variable filter for your Sigma 16mm 1.4? Any recommendation?
Hi, yes I use a tiffen filter.

Hey Thomas, I've been keen to get the Panasonic 15mm 1.7 prime and wondering if you've had a chance to use/test this lens? Thanks!
How about the sigma 16mm while handheld. I know it doesn't have IS like the Lumix 12-60mm but is it close to it?
Since I have the GH5 the 16mm handheld is absolutely fantastic. Now, when I use the 16mm on the GH5S (which does not have IS) I will have the camera on a gimbal. This is hands down my favorite lens!
Dopeness!
Very creative filming!
Thank you!
Love your work - Absolutely Fantastic! BTW, what software do you use for Color Grading?
Hi, thank you very much. For this video and the wedding in it I used Premiere CC (This video is actually a re-upload from my other channel. New sub!!!! I'm sold with the 16mm!! Mos def getting it for my pocket 4k!!!
Thanks for the sub! Your going to love the 16mm it's the truth.
Fasho!!!!
I'm desperately looking for a new lens for my GH5! Still using the stock lens that comes with it lol
I highly recommend the 16mm.
😂😂😂😂, yo, why isn't this on the comedy channel
This was Awesome. Love the talking lens.
What a cool video!
Just ordered mines thank you
Good stuff!
Thank you
I'd like to see the results in 4K, as long as the GH5 allows it!
I have newer videos in 4K. However, the lens is good both in 4K and 1080P.
Might be the best micro 4/3 lens, but the size contradicts the purpose...?
Yes, I get it: for 1.4 to be able to concentrate so much light in there, you need glass bla bla.
Still :))))
So what your saying is. You love it :-).
LOL
viltrox sucks.. spread the word, blurry af
I think we all agree that Viltrox adapters are not as high quality as
