    Man. Ricky befriending a legendary running back of a completely different era was awesome. You can tell he really looked up to him. That was awesome the way he honored him and his family there in Dallas. Ricky was a good dude man. I still think he could have been one of the all time greats if hed wanted to. He certainly gave it everything he had in college and i think making it to the nfl was all he really wanted to do. After that he had nothing to really strive for. His is a name that'll be remembered forever though, especially by longhorns fans and the fans of teams that he played. What a legend!

    • @larrytischler570
      @larrytischler570 2 года назад

      @@fiesta061000 nobody knows how great the '64 team was either. Texas finished with one loss, to Arkansas, 14 to 13. Alabama was Number 1, and Texas played them in the Orange Bowl. None of the media gave Texas a chance to stand up to 'Bama. Texas was ahead 21-0 at the half. At the end Joe Namath later the NY Jets Super Bowl winning QB tried a sneak to get a first down and keep their drive alive to score, but All American middle line backer Tommy Nobis stopped Namath short. The Longhorns took over and won 21 to 17. Horns were the Jan 1st, 1965 Orange Bowl Champs over #1 Alabama. In those days, the Orange Bowl was almost like the Rose Bowl. Arkansas took all the glory after Texas beat Alabama for them. Like I said, nobody knows how good the '64 Horns were.
