"Your Golf Swing Looks Nice but it Doesn't FUNCTION!"

  • As we say often here at ZEN Golf Mechanics HQ, the function creates the form, not the other way around. A lot of us have received so much information and spent so much time working on our swing that we've lost or never even had an idea of what was our own golf swing in the first place.
This is where Frank found himself, in his own words a "copy cat" and never really owning his own swing. After allowing him to embark on the self-discovery process through the medium of a few exercises and drills, Frank was closer to unlocking his true natural action.
It was an amazing lesson and a huge thanks to Frank for letting us share his experience with you guys!

Great to see a lesson with an experienced golfer. Amazing how quickly he picks up the theory and instantly applies it to his swing. This is probably the least I've heard Marcus speak :)

This single 16 minute video might be packed with more good information on the golf swing than any video I’ve seen on the topic. I’ve watched it slowly five times today. Amazing.

I love seeing this lesson with an experienced player, because you are still able to open his mind to new concepts, despite his existing depth of knowledge. I am constantly singing your praises and sharing your videos, here in the United States, because I not only love to learn about the golf swing, but I am also fascinated with the art of golf instruction. I think the core concepts you teach are the next era in golf instruction, because in my opinion, classical and traditional golf instruction has failed to evolve with science and technology. In other words, the knowledge that we have gained (through launch monitors, pressure plates, etc.) tends to disprove many of the core axioms in traditional golf instruction. Your focus on ground forces as opposed to positional golf, puts you in a class of your own. This lesson proves it. You took a skilled player and introduced him to how we can harness natural forces to make the golf swing more efficient, and it was all news to him. Brilliant!

Again, even with a decent player Marcus has him hitting even better! You could hear the difference in his ball striking! Amazing job again! Marcus the golf swing Jedi!!!!!!

Marcus, there’s so much that I love about your videos, and I get everything about the better quality of strike - but does the lower trajectory, while adding length, will also make it harder to stop the ball on approach shots to the green? Many thanks

13.40 best use of alignment stick ever. On a side note nice to see you have electric now in the studio. Will we see the green stage in use soon?

Frank looked like a decent player and hit a good ball before Marcus performed his magic on him. Frank is now going to be striping it. These videos are so inspiring. Keep up the good work.

In several of your videos where you take the student to the grass, and you have them do the toe divot, they suddenly have this "ah Ha!" moment. It apparently comes from the rotation of the club with the wrists and they suddenly start hitting the ball much better. Please, spend more time on this issue in your videos. Does this come naturally by using the proper sequence, or does one need to drill this rotation of the wrists and if so, please show that drill!

This is some great reprograming of his golf brain. But how can he possibly hit a driver with that type of down movement? Any video of him with driver?
