Hi Marcus Awesome as per usual. After our lesson two weeks ago , played in the comp on Sunday. By using your instructions and what I need to do. I won the comp 😂 I shot two over par on 18 holes and down to 7 now. Many thanks Marcus
This man has to be one of the top 5 golf instructors in the world. Every video I’m left with my jaw dropped to the floor. Learning the swing from the ground up distinguishes this channel from EVERY golf channel on YT. Bring Zen to the US please!
This guy looks like he is generally unsure of himself in everyday life, but after this he is not going to be! Every good shot he tended to cover his mouth out of disbelief, was so afraid to say he felt out of control in the swing!! By the end even his posture changed and he looked more confident!!! Awesome job Marcus!! Congrats to this man for letting go and getting better!!
Thank you, current handicapp of 22.7 Just shot 85 after following your instruction .👍 After years of playing and lessons feel like a golfer at last at 67.
This is pure priceless Marcus. I play off 5 and have a dominant upper body swing. My pro at the moment is getting me the do the exact same thing as your teaching tom. I'm very mechanical, he's teaching me to move more naturally and let the club flow. It's a strange feeling and when you initially start doing it strike obviously suffers but when you actually do get all the body movements right it's effortless.. Keep teaching your way. In my opinion it's how the game needs to be taught. Golf should be a reactive game instead we're being fed position ideas based off slow motion analysis.
Im really on this journey to find my "swing identity" as well and a few things you say go off like rockets in my brain. when you said swinging out and letting it "freewheel" it made me realize I have no clue what that feels like. I can actually feel myself steering the club around in my swing.. one of the best parts of this video are from about 9:30-10:10... you can actually see him SWINGING the club and letting it just go. I have a feeling this will help me a lot. its amazing to me in that time frame of the video how different he looks especially in the release and followthrough that was non existent before. sure wish i could travel to the UK for a lesson! ha
Another great video. I love the way you teach the mechanics and (probably more importantly) the feel of the golf swing. Not too technical, whilst keeping it simple and easy to understand. 👍👍👍
This is the first session i have watched for a while Marcus. The change was unbelievable. My elbows are finally pain free and i have my first round on Sunday. Actually it will be the first time i have swung a club since the December lockdown. It is a society round but i'm going to try and treat it as a practice round and put into practice what i learnt last December. Fingers crossed.
That's what I love about golf. You only need to have one fantastic shot per round (tee shot, approach shot or a putt) to make it worthwhile. You can see how ecstatic this guys is at 6.25 when the lesson starts to pay off.
I took the move shown at 8:40 to the driving range yesterday, combined that with the "let go" part and the Saguto golf tip to keep weight forward (45/55%) and my 7i went from 156 to 176 yards with a great contact on the ball (ball first). The practice move shown at 8:40 makes sense to me since it reminds me of disc golf shots, which im kind of decent at.
Great stuff. Very similar to how Shaun Clement teaches in the US. All about activating a kinetic thought that the body recognises and doesn't need to think about, and not forcing it. Like throwing the club out to your target and letting the hands naturally release as a result.
Amazing! A game changer- thinking about what you want the shot to be. I love watching you guys follow the shot, which seems to take forever to come down.
Marcus great video as usual. At 08:34, whan you say to push down the club, could we say that the swing ends there? The impact and the finish are "passive" elements of something built before?
Videos are brilliant. The improvement us night and day. Ever had a cack hander in your bay? Be impressed if you can get a draw flight path with that grip lol
Good Video a ton of technique - goes to range and boom what happened I suck again:) Wish the Audio was better I have this blasted and can barely hear please reupload better audio. Cheers!
I’m finally understanding the need to push off and against the ground - I think what I still need help comprehending is the relationship between aiming/clubface/swing path.. Thanks so much for your awesome videos !
This is a system I've developed over many years and is unique in approach. Only myself and my team at Bawtry GC coach using this system as its takes years of mentorship to develop the efficacy of practice. Thanks 👍
Wonderful results. Of course in the law suit happy USA my heart was in my throat while he would swing on the twisting pads lol. Love the sound improvement
hello. Im a 30 handicap and have been for 25 yrs. I can't get any consistency , poor swing and inconsistent contact. Really need help but am located in Canada, Toronto.Just once Id like to win a round. Where are you located.? Any thoughts ??
@@GRFGolf that’s ok. I believe I can make great improvements just by watching your videos. I’m a 10 handicap now and reach my goal of 5 this summer because I found you on RUclips. Thx you system is awesome!
Love you're videos and the progress of the students is unreal. I would love a lesson however to far away. Would the purchase of a grf board and with your video give me similar results? Or can you recommend a coach in Scotland?
His comments about moving ring loud and clear.. TO ME... that feeling of moving helps me weight shift - just watch Kyle Berkshire in long ball comps, he rocks back and forth. It can help an AM get that feeling of weight transfer that will help bring all of the other elements of the swing together.
Could you do a video with someone who gets their head in front of the ball. Everyone who has been recorded don't have that issue. I do. And it has been plaguing me for years and has lead to inconsistent contact of the golf ball.
Yes Good point. I does this with my driver. Hence the lack.of distance. I can carry my 8 iron 145-150 but only hit my driver 200! Loads of spin no roll. Frustration
Thanks brother. Yeah getting better. Filmed my swing and not only was my head moving fwd but my upper body was creating a pull when I hit it farther. Basically I am keeping the head back at impact now but it still feels strange. When I hit it well at least its rolling out in fairway now. Best ones up to 225-230 which is a huge improvement! Now I can reach par 4 in two on most holes.G.I.R. up from 1 or 2 to 5-6. Back down to 78-82. Happy! Now back to the gym for core strength after 2 year hiatus! Best of luck to you. Let me know how you are doing!
@@GRFGolf So sorry to hear this - I think that the areas you worked on with Tom are very similar to the areas I have identified - it would have been helpful to get the fuller insight given from watching the whole session. Thank you for continuing this super approach to the game of golf
@John McG He's 28 on a golf course where the s**t gets real, hazards, club choice, course management. We can all flatter to deceive on a driving range. I play off 26 and do the same thing, hit some great shots off the green carpet but have yet to transfer that consistently when it matters ... when I play a round.

This is one of the coolest lessons I've seen on RUclips!
So happy for him, this video gave me the tip needed which my memory refuses to maintain. Right hand initiates power down and not toward the ball!
The first down the line shots around 14:30 or so...just wow! Just an amazing change.

13:00 is the actual break through in this lesson. this was my problem in my first year of golfing. once you learn to release everything just clicks
Vulnerability with men is not easy. 'That was funny means', 'thank you so f#$king much, you have changed my life' '💟
Hard to believe a guy with that swing is a 28 handicap golfer. He must not be able to putt at all. Nice lesson, good tips.
lol yeah I'd be taking a double take if you said you were a 28...that contact is nice for a beginner mate, keep at er!
Where do we find Zen golf lessons in the UK…, do you ever do clinics in the US?
