    I was confirmed for a FTW recently about 4 days out. 24 hours before the event I found out they double booked my opponent and I was booted out. My teammate never even got a text from the guys for no reason. Idk if I'll ever do another f2w. It's just unprofessional. I'm tempted to put on my own event. I literally think I can do better. These guys are all over the place.

    I remember applying for F2W awhile ago. Never heard anything besides a generic "Thank you for applying email" a month before the event. I assumed I didn't get a matchup then out of nowhere I get asked to compete night before weigh-ins. I said no, but wondered why the fuck I got messaged so late about a match. Kind of sad because F2W is a great idea/event.

  • @jbevolve2024
    @jbevolve2024 5 месяцев назад +6

    Great video, Seth Daniels sems like an absolute tool, very toxic. I think pay in JJ tournaments and Super Fights can be better. I think there needs to be a shift in the JJ community and the athletes needs to learn to utilize their sponsors/network.
    The promoters need to stop paying for flights and hotel and tell the athletes to take care of that themselves, control your own schedule. Take that money and invest it in the prize funds in some form. There is a lot of money in JJ, you just have to find it. I'm surprised Ashton Kutcher hasn't started is own tournament along with Ed Hardy.
    "Show" money I think is a bad idea. A lot of these managers in MMA/BJJ are absolute trash and the athletes think they are employees of the managers, not the other way around. Assuming you don't win the show money isn't even enough to cover expenses. Instead of paying show money roll that into the win purses.
    I will be interesting to see where CJI is in 2-3 years.

    • @jbevolve2024
      @jbevolve2024 5 месяцев назад +1

      The failed business model of giving JJ athletes free apparel and no money is outdated. Switch apparel with any supplement, etc... and it's the same. JJ athletes should refuse all sponsors that do this and instead take money, free shirts, BCAA powder, etc
      doesn't pay the bills.
      Evolution must happen...here we are 20+ years in and the model hasn't changed...well, sit back and watch the sport die.
      Do you want a reference? Mr. Olympia. You no longer need to be Mr. Olympia to make serious money or be famous in bodybuilding.
      Eventually it will be JJ turn and the entire shift will happen. Gone will be the days of ADCC, etc...the competitors will put their heads together and create a model that the fans want to see.
      One day don't be surprised if ADCC, CJI or the JJ Pan Ams is on Netflix or another MAJOR streaming service.

      @@grapplingwithjiujitsu first of all, you (and the others who liked your comment) are hilarious for taking my comment seriously.
      Secondly, crying about fighters pay is kinda cringe.
      Ask for more money once or twice, then move on to something else.
      You knew your athletes werent getting what they deserve and you still sent them to that competition. You probably knew he choked her unconscious and still had ppl compete there.
      This shows YOU have no values. And this is what keeps people like Seth in business.

    Never heard of that Seth dude before but hearing him talk and seeing how he treated that girl he put to sleep, Id say he is a psychopath….clearly has some major issues

    At the end of the day it’s up to the athletes to garner xposure. Xposure is where the money/eyes are at. If not for that, there is no product. CJI will be a hit because of the exposure all of the athletes are already bringing. Jay rod and Victor Hugo are both top tier athletes but who do you see more of? Jay rod keeps losing but puts himself out there.

    Man, you did a fantastic job summing up the whole saga. Respectfully though, I'd kindly ask you not to make assumptions about how Brittney feels about the choke. The fact is none of us know how she actually feels and whether it's different than what she said in her post, so making assumptions in either direction does no one any good.
