Well done sir! Many would have given up on a project like this when things go sideways, glad to see you not only stick with it but I find your creative engineering impressive!
Nice stock! You will probably get the bug to make another or modify this one down the road. I made a POS stock, then got better and now I want to make more. Here's a tip, to remove alot of wood in a control manner, get a Japanese saw file. They are $20 on Amazon. Speeds up the profiling process. Keep it up!
A Shinto file? Yeah, I don’t have one, and it would have been helpful. I have a full set of stock makers rasps and about every shape of western rasp/file you can think of. I have a few sure form tools and they are similar I think. I did a lot of the shaping on the bandsaw for this stock. Thanks a lot for the comment
Thank you very much for your kind words. I used a Minwax wood conditioner first and soaked it very thoroughly and while it was still wet I applied a thick coat of Minwax Ebony stain, but I started to wipe it off very quickly. I top coated it with Minwax Antique Oil finish. This top finish is not very durable for most applications, but because this rig sees constant use in a competition setting, I needed a finish I could easily repair and touch up if needed

What epoxy did you use for the bedding, some gunsmith product or some generic hardware ?
