Great video, what you said at 1:38 is where I’m at and what I see on a lot of other videos with people putting others down or gatekeeping. I want to get into engine building and you’ll see comments like “if you don’t know that you shouldn’t be building an engine” and it’s like how am I gonna learn that without trying to build an engine lol.
Shout out to you bro ! This just helped me so much! I ain’t know where a few of these sensors were. Great video! I tune in often. Keep dropping bangers !
watching this video, just let me know mine was installed up side down , flip flopped i guess but im changing to correct install, it was a mess - but ran . 1997 silverado dually ls swap
Question ? I like how simple , cheap and clean the harness is . Would you recommend me using this harness instead of the factory wiring , I have a donor and was considering using the factory harness but this looks way cleaner
@@krustyclassicsgarage im doing a lq4 swap on my v6 obs rn bro hopefully itll turn on with this next video! Im sure the wiring colors are the same on most chevys?
Hey bud, thanks for the video, it helps a lot... What about the gages? Going from the electronic stuff to the old school gages like the speedo, and stuff?
You can either run cheap digital gauges on a tablet (I have a video on it), Run Dakota digital gauges, or use adapters to adapt your factory gauges to the engine
What were the rest of the wires in that bundle with the brake switch for? How are gauges hooked up? I know you run a tablet but if you wanted to make all of the old mechanical gauges work would that be possible
@johnthurmanmerman not to get the engine running no. They're extra things like tach, TCC, cruise control, etc. I'd have to look at the instructions to see what every wire is for.
The Ls I bought has the complete wiring harness still attached to the engine. In your opinion, is it easier to sorta make the original work ? It’s going into a 65 C10. Old shit.
@@prnd21turbo Thats a gen 4 so you'll have to get a more expensive harness as this video shows a gen 3 harness. I would look at BP Automotive harnesses.
Have you run into transmission code issues? Mines pulling a p0785 3-2 shift solenoid code, I've heard people having issues with pins being in the wrong spot.
Ya some of them do and idk why I didn't realize it with this one but I think it does. Not all of them do, it's really just the luck of the draw to get one with the extra wires. They're an IAT sensor set up. If your engine isn't running right with just the 5 pin maf then those 2 extra plugs you take and put on an adapter to a Gen 4 MAF sensor. I need to look at this harness and double check but I knew there was too many wires in the driver side bundle
@@krustyclassicsgarage right 😂😂 I told them it was killing my sensors and they sent another 1 for free good ebay company I think I may be having fueling issues bc wen i try to do a burnout it will creep up hit a wall and fall on its face
@roadboiipluckiee6938 ya, I've had 2 of them. 1 of them I had to use an adapter that was on an 84 s10. The Vega that's on here I got one but I plugged in the 5 pin MAF and it ran perfectly so I didn't need to use the iat plug. Weird. Ya, sounds fuel related.

Just forget about the other 285 wires for now and do just one wire at a time and you will be amazed. Besides thats the only way you can do it anyways, one wire at a time.
@@krustyclassicsgarage I got a drive by wire harness, ecu, and intake, I really want the drive by cable what do you suggest I do? Do I have to get all new harness, computer and intake? Or should I just run with the drive by wire….
@artm700_ dbc is much more simple for a swap. You need dbc throttle body, dbc harness, and either have the dbw ecm tuned to a dbc ecm or just get a dbc ecm
@@krustyclassicsgarage appreciate the quick response brother, and yea so I’ve heard it’s my first ls swap so I really want the dbc setup, thank you man I’m gonna look into getting a new throttle body and harness, sweet content btw 👍
Gen 3 doesn't have that UNLESS you get one of these harnesses that do which this harness may be. Every now and then I get one. If so you run an adapter to hook up the iat sensor to the 5 pin maf sensor. I'll have to look at this specific harness and see if it has it or not but most of them don't and don't need it.
Yes on the brake switch video!
Most thorough and simple video I've watched. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing all your knowledge on LS swaps and yes the brake switch video would be awesome
Once again I appreciate the info, I actually saved this one!

I bought the same harness I’m trying to figure out how to wire an electric fan I got the72 Monte Carlo done 6.0 please help
About time I start getting your notifications!!🔥🔥🔥 FIRST!!!
Yeah Buddy
That was great !!!! yea I did that two with 1.8... thank you great work
Clear explanation, thank you!!
would the t56 version of this harness be the one that i want if i were to use any manual transmission?
Can you make a video on the fuse box and how to wire it so it starts with key
Brake switch a must see
So what do I keep on my stock truck harness from a 94 Silverado or do I not need none of it?? And if I do how do I go about wiring it up thanks
Please make a step to step video bro we tryna be like you!!!!
I'll try to do it the next LS swap I do. I have a step by step in the videos of the last camaro I did.

Hey bud, thanks for the video, it helps a lot... What about the gages? Going from the electronic stuff to the old school gages like the speedo, and stuff?
Gauges should be on your body harness with a car. The old school gauges have their own discrete sending units which you can usually get adapters for.
You can either run cheap digital gauges on a tablet (I have a video on it), Run Dakota digital gauges, or use adapters to adapt your factory gauges to the engine
whats a good price for a complete 6.0ls ? I wanna swap my 97 obs chevy.

What were the rest of the wires in that bundle with the brake switch for? How are gauges hooked up? I know you run a tablet but if you wanted to make all of the old mechanical gauges work would that be possible
You'd run adapters to the engine and hook up your existing gauges to thos adapters.

It has it, it's next to the cam sensor plug if it's a Gen 3 harness.

Yes. In the middle of the loom, where the big split is between the passenger side plugs and driver side plugs. Sorry, I forgot about that plug.
