I feel bad for the caracal and the lady that found it living under her deck. I'm glad it wasn't harmed and it is going to a wildlife refuge where it can live in nature. the exotic pet trade needs to be stopped. that beautiful animal shouldn't be able to be sold to any moron with a bankroll.
This is obviously someone's illegally imported wild cat. People try to domesticate these poor animals. There are videos all over TikTok of people owning and taunting them for views. I hope it gets the proper environment, space, diet, and safety it needs and deserves.

You can't just decide some one dumped this cat. It's hard to keep a regular cat indoors, they run away sometimes. Imagine an exptic one whos territory needs are not met...they flee, man.
Caracals are more mean-tempered than even a bobcat. It's a native African animal that couldn't withstand a Chicago area winter, so releasing it into a northern US suburban neighborhood was cruel.
Caracals are African wild cats, so it’s definitely a pet that someone owned, either it escaped or it was released by the owners when they couldn’t cafe for it. It wouldn’t have survived a proper Illinois winter
the pet probably ran away ...and the owner would likely not "dump" an expensive breed that could be sold at the least or adopted right away... certainly these caracal belong in the wild... but if you have noticed the planet is going thru a major man made mass extinction and the wild is drying up... but some people are responsible enough, although not the norm, to maintain this as a pet ... and was no effort made to try to find its original home? ... of course if nobody had been looking for a "lost cat" well then maybe it made its way pretty far before being captured by the authorities?
Do you know what animal this is? It's not in the caracal's nature to attack a bigger creature until it's dead, but it definitely has the strength to do so... In a fit of rage a caracal could easily disfigure a child quite badly.
Many people have pets for this type of cat but unfortunately some have very bad temperaments and begin to scratch and bite you his at you half the day and more than likely this was one of those types unfortunately
Poor thing. So glad those officers weren't jerks about it. And so grateful to the woman who will take care of it.

Yep. They're also acting as if it was the size of a lion or tiger. But i'm glad the kitty will live at a sanctuary. Wild cats are not pets.
owning exotic animals isnt cool, why not have a dog or a normal cat lmao

Owning an ordinary dog or cat wouldn't have allowed them to feel special (before they kicked it out).
What a beautiful animal.
That cat was me im now safe
Bless you for coming n getting him n putting him a cat sanctuary. ❤️
I can't believe y'all don't know what it is. . and you can get them as kittens and raise them Tami them. There amazing and I love them
Literally millions of dangerous people coming into the country but we call in the army for a kitty cat..
Now why in the hell would somebody call the police over an animal? They should have called animal control.

This has to be someone’s pet that they let go. She says.? I don’t see how she knows that it didn’t just escape from its home.
Thats actually worse if true.
This caracal looks like a puma with the pointy ears.
Kill a child.....really? This lady has no idea about smaller exotic cats.
He a beautiful cat, I hope he’s ok.

😂 that’s exactly what I thought!

I’ve seen quite a few bobcats…. Never mean. Unless rabid
@@colleen0229 : There are documented cases of bobcats attacking humans.
@@colleen0229bobcats have evolved to survive the cold North American winter. Caracals are used to the warm North African climate
So what crime did the cat commit? Free the kitty!
Chicago and the suburbs really need more tranq equipment as more wild animals make thier way into neighborhoods looking for food.

This has some type of human trafficking vibes all over it.
Like someone escaped.

Where are we located at now
I had one of those. It ran away
People shouldn't have pets, sorry. Dogs, cats, frogs, hermit crabs, parrots... all these things want to be outside. Very strange to think otherwise

Poor kitty from a bad breeder/owner. They shouldn't have wild animals.
I totally agree. If you get a special pet, you are completely responsible for its well being n life. I love animals but also there is respect.
