Guitarist and tonemeister Andy Timmons sat down recently with Mesa’s Director of R & D, Doug West, to discuss and play through all of the modes and features of the Mark Five: 25™and a Rectifier 2x12. As always, Andy provided some outstanding playing examples, showcasing the huge range of tonal possibilities and what sets this mini Mark apart from other amps its size. In between world-class tones and riffs, Doug dials in the settings and provides design insights and incredible tone tips for the Mark Five: 25 that also apply to nearly all Mesa amps… Great info all the way through no matter what your favorite Mesa amp may be.
Huge thanks to Andy for his time and exceptional playing and tone. It was great to have him here at the factory and we look forward to the next time!
Recorded with an Ibanez AT-100 into a Strymon Timeline Delay, the Mark Five: 25 and into a Rectifier 2x12 cabinet loaded with Mesa Celestion Vintage 30s. All reverb is from the Mark Five: 25. Mic'd with a Shure SM57, Shure KSM 313 and the internal CabClone set to the Open Back Cab Mode. Mixed with 40% SM57, 40% KSM 313 and 20% CabClone.
I'm sold. Kids can pay for their own college.
Lolol
Under $1500, so this one ain't too bad actually.
Unfortunately, in Europe, you won't get these for under 2100 dollar. :'(
JUST under 15 hundy for a 25 watt amp....MESA can stick it. Too many great amps out there far cheaper to justify this.
BLACK MAGICK obviously you've never played a mark I own now a mark v 25 head 35 Head and 90 combo. If you want to save money your going to hear the difference for those that get what a boogie does can justify it. They also have some of the best customer service of any bigger brand
I played one of these for five minutes in LA - unfortunately it was as good as I thought it would be. I bought one - and a cab, I spent the rest of my holiday figuring out how I was going to get it home.
6 years later... so what happened? Please finish the story..
.... And
I really enjoyed the casual nature of this video.
If I had a dollar for each time Doug West shrugs his shoulders in this video, I STILL couldn't afford this amp :(
+Bowlch haha me too
Jokes on me... A year later I bought a Lonestar! Thanks Mesa Boogie! :D
If you wore a tee shirt two sizes too large, you'd be shrugging too.
I feel like Mesa should send me one to demo - so the rest of the world's very very average guitarists can tell how they might sound through this. Andy could sound good through a transistor radio
🤣👍
Just curious, why only a 10" speaker in the combo version? At a price of $1700, shouldn't it have a 12" speaker in it? It's only 24 lbs.; if they made the unit slightly larger and put a 12" speaker in it, it would still be a small and portable amp. Do they put a 10" in this to entice you to buy the Mark Five: 35 instead? Or is there not really a difference between 10" and 12" speakers?
Wow. Just to echo the other comments, this is one of the best demos of an amp I've seen in a long time. Fantastic playing and fantastic tone! I wish I could afford one haha! Maybe one day!
MESA/Boogie I *LOVED* this video. Its very cool for a format, to see a "top shelf" Boogie Man giving a gear tour to an artist. I really enjoy this a ton. This is the best amp I have ever had in my life. The original video for this amp made me buy it right then and there. It is the best all around amp I have ever had. I just can't express that enough. I also loved it so much I told my buddy about it and he played it and sold his Bogner Uberschall in favor of the Mark Five: 25. I have put my other amps away. No need as they are heavier to carry, too loud, less versatile, and don't sound as good. I can have a Mesa 2X12 at my rehearsal space for practice and a Mesa 1X12 at home for playing and it has served me well. Thank you MESA/Boogie for making the best amp ever. Period.
I'm always like "Mesas are overrated, they're not THAT good." And then I watch videos like this and I'm like... THEY ARE THAT GOOD. And Andy's playing is just spectacular. He can highlight every nuance of this amp, that guitar, and their reaction together, seamlessly. And Doug, man, it's obvious how you can have such a phenomenal product when you have people that obviously LOVE what they do as much as he does. Mesa Boogie has thrived for so many years and throughout so many different styles of music not only because they sound great, but also because they're a company that is always listening to their customers and finding new ways to improve. Again, killer amp guys, and couldn't have made a better video to showcase it. I guess I'm sold on Mesa, after all!
I got a mark v 35 because of this video and I keep watch it I've used the same dial settings that are shown and it sounds AWESOME. Do more demos with Andy!!! Definitely the best overview you guys have done
I can just see from Doug's face that this is a man who absolutely loves his job, and has been that way for a long time.
Good for you man
abdulah786 Lol I had to edit that. Gosh my mind sometimes, "Doug" not Adam. No Adams here even.
It's trueabdulah786 - He really does live it. That's why he's 'Tone Boy' here at Mesa. Thanks for picking up on that and taking the time to comment! :D
MESA/Boogie Well it won't be long until I become a Mesa minion. Got my signature JP7 couple months ago and I'm eyeing up an Mark V combo once I do some damage to my debt on the guitar.
Doug is proud of his job.
He is the guy from the video that make joy faces while he’s playing??
Hi +Sean Conley - Man - thank you so much for the amazing feedback... On the video and the Mark Five: 25! :D It really means a lot to us when people share how our products create inspiration to want to play your instrument!!! Such an incredible testimonial and we genuinely appreciate it. Keep on rockin', thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching!
MESA/Boogie Just got my triple crown! Amazing!
Best sounding Ibanez I've ever heard... Oh, that's Andy nevermind.
Looks like Joe barden s deluxe pickups too
Theyre Dimarzio
Ibanez sucks. They need Vai, Timmons, and Satriani to make their guitars sound good.
Fabulous tone . Get a load of George benson he sounds fabulous as well
@@iganpparamarta8813 maybe you just make every guitar sound shit lol
God damn Andy Timmons is a tasty guitar player.
I could watch Andy Timmons play all day long, plus extra thumbs up for playing ''The Loner'' by Gary Moore.
P.S. The amp isn't too shaby either. ;-)
Garey Moore FTW!***** :D
greekfreak1980
Only recently listening to more Andy Timmons. Love the Gary reference. Shame MESA can’t spell his name!
Every gear demo with Andy Timmons turns into a lick-stealing session for me... he's so darn good. Anybody else wish there was a tab to all his gear demos? lol
Hello, is it okay if I turn the 'Speaker Off' switch at the back of the amp. but i'm not using the DI output, instead of I'm using the FX Send output to my Soundcard, to use IR's from my laptop? Or it will damage the amp?
Great question, Marcello - This is totally fine! You can use any output from the amp safely/quietly/silently once the speaker switch is in the off position. Hope the amp is working well for you!
BRUTAL tone!!! Insanly good!!
Sounds incredible. Hard to comprehend this video and the Petrucci one are the same amp: each player's style and guitar choice shine through - the amp doesn't hide anything.
Just sounds incredible in all modes. Mesa hit a home run with this one.
Perfect Demo and flawless choice of player i love Andy Timmons Tone God !!!
Its safe to say this is the best dam demo of the Mark Five: 25™ to date, well done Mesa, well done.
Very much appreciated,Nicolas Rivera - Thanks for watching! :D
MESA/Boogie you got the RIGHT player to demo this :) andy FTW!!!!
Nicolas Rivera did you hear Petrucci's demo? :)
***** Yes, but this one smokes it out of the water!
Nicolas Rivera both great IMO, depends on the taste. Cheers
Andy's phrasing is just so him no matter what amp he plays...amazing..
Andy could play a toothbrush through an ice cone and make it sound amazing, let alone an amp like this..
Wouldn't it have been crazy to have each EQ band moveable? Not just a set frequency but parametric where you can set the frequency AND volume (boost or cut). That be a lot more useful but maybe that was too hard to accomplish back then?
This sounds amazing. Really can't wait to try one of these
***** Andy can make any amp sound amazing...
Simple mathematics...Timmons+Mesa= Tonal Bliss
tbh, I liked the non-EQ kind of more. Those mids are where guitars live and it sounded so sweet w/o the EQ and reminded me at times of a Satriani tone.
How do these sound at TV volumes?
Most amps sound really off unless you push the master pretty hard.
Hi +charvelstrat81 - The Mark Five: 25 and 35 sound great at lower volumes. They, of course, sound better if you have the means to turn them up! :) But, you can select the 10 watt position for lower volumes but easier threshold of power section clip and the amps do a great job of FEELING full and warm without blowing out the windows. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
+MESA/Boogie I recently went and played the Mark 5:25 at a local shop, and while I wasn't too high on the 1x12 slanted cab, the sound out of the compact 2x12 (with V30s) was amazing. I didn't get a chance through the bigger 2x12, but I am curious what the advantages would be. I'll be using this amp in all kinds of scenarios, from jamming at home to (hopefully) gigging in small to medium venues.
Hi +Matt Johnson - Thanks for the kind words and glad you were digging the mark Five: 25 and cabs. The larger Recto 2x12 has a little more pronounced midrange and a bit more bass response overall. However, both cabs are much more similar than different. If you're looking for something a little more compact, the 2x12 Compact delivers at least 90+ percent of what the 2x12 offers up. Together with a Mark Five: 25, you'll be well covered with tones and volume. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest!
My mesa boogie mark v five The best amp 90 watt sound incredibile top top !!! Thanks mesa
Thank you, ROBYRH! :)
Love Andys noodling on the clean sounds. Could listen to it for hours.
One of the best sounding amps i have heard in a long time its pure class.
Is there a buzz issue with the Mesa mark V-25?
It's possible hear it here: ruclips.net/video/i0p-ks5xlnY/видео.html
and here: ruclips.net/video/w0mD-tQ3AnI/видео.html
I've been worried about that cause I intend purchase that amp.
Hi +vcssaofdp - There is no issue with buzz or hum with the Mark Five: 25. Buzz or hum is usually related to the type of guitar and pickups someone is using. Single Coil pickups are the most common cause of buzz and noise but any guitar can make noise, especially in high gain situations. Lots of different variables. That said, there are no issues with the Mark Five: 25. It's as good an amp as anything we've ever made. Hope this helps! :)
What echo pedal is Andy using in this video?
Buying my Mark V 25 this weekend with a 2x12 slanted cab!
Band members are going to crap themselves when I plug in for the 1st time!
First time Mesa owner!!!
description says Strymon Timeline Delay.
settings Strymon Timeline ?
Hi Tomasz - sorry... we don't have the exact settings used here. However, if you search the web for Andy Timmons delay settings, you'll find quite a few posts where people detail Andy's basic approach to delay settings and these are the same ones. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
I'm from Poland ,I can not find. Can you help?
today I bought Mark V 35, is great :-)
www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/tc-flashback-delay-timmons-dual-delay-setting.1013764/
Man, I've watched this 100 times. Best combination of great guitar player and amazing engineer
I've got a Hughes and Kettner Switchblade and it sounds as good as this. An underestimated amp.
Oh and one more thing...ANDY TIMMONS PLAYED THE LONER!! WOOHOO! RIP father Gary!
I bought this amp after watching this video my mind was made, best amp Ive ever owned, 2 years gigging every weekend and going strong still sounds amazing.
Will there be one with 6l6's for 50 watts?
Am I the only one who wishes that Andy Timmons was that next door neighbor that always plays his guitar too loud? I could listen to that all day.
talk about a guitar being an extension of someone. those two are meant to be together.
Andy is an awesome player and Doug is an expert on dialing this amp in. This video is a great lesson on how to work with this amp and has been a great help opening up the tones in this little beast. Great Job!
Many thanks, +BrokenFusion72 and glad this video helped you get some more sounds from this little tone machine. :)
Thank you Mesa Boogie, and all the engineers that and this possible. 20+ years of playing guitar, finally I have an amp that is wonderful even at low volumes. Love my Mark Five 25!
Thank YOU Slicefixer. We really appreciate the kind words and hope the amp continues to exceed your expectations and inspire you to play. Also glad to hear it's working well at lower volumes. :)
I'm thinking to get the Mark V 25 as my first tube amp, do you think I can get good bedroom levels? I'm worried at 10 watts it still might be a bit loud
@@WS-bk7uu I can get great bedroom tones out of my Mark III in the 85 watt mode, so I imagine getting good bedroom tones out of the Five 25 is easily doable. I have heard that the master volume on the 25 is much touchier than the 35, though. As in, the amp volume may jump drastically going from like 1 to 1.5… the 35’s MV supposedly has a much more gradual increase in volume as opposed to a sudden jump. Both models have a headphone out, so you can still crank it and not disturb your neighbors. Opinions differ on the sound quality of the headphone out, but It’s a great option to have.
@@sondoke Thanks for the tips. I came close to getting it but opted for a Fender Vibro Champ as wanted something a bit simpler for my first tube amb, but would love to try a Mesa Boogie in the future
This video made my buy my MK V 25. Best amp ever!
Makes my Mark V combo feel proud :')
Andy could make the worst amp in the world sound amazing. I would love to see this amp with the option to switch between the clean setting and crunch via footswitch. That would cover every need I have. The cabclone is an amazing feature to have built in to the head.
What is the rationale behind pulling the bass back as you increase gain on the Fat clean circuit in channel 1?
GREAT questionScott Harnish! It's the case with MOST amps that the low end increases as the Gain is turned up. Particularly in a Clean channel that has a lot of bass voiced into the circuit, higher Gain AND Bass settings can cause the sound to get loose or flubby. Lots of people/players can fool themselves into thinking they want a 'fat sound' and turn the bass up past a point where the amp sounds good anymore, especially in relationship to other settings. Doug's point is that as you push a clean sound into clip/overdrive, you'll probably want to turn the bass down below 12:00 (VERY counterintuitive for lots of players) yet the results from experimenting with low bass settings can often result in some of peoples favorite tones in our amps, despite being something you wouldn't normally set your amp to... Thanks for the question and thanks for watching! :)
I've pulled the trigger on the Mark 5 25 head and now I'm just waiting on Sweetwater to get some more in stock. Owning a Boogie has always been a dream of mine. Gonna be a long few weeks.
CONGRATULATIONS,Brian Jewell!!! So great and welcome to the Mesa family! Let us know if you have any questions and hope it provides decades of musical inspiration. :D
Are you still enjoying your Mark V??
firstly, amazing sounding amp. What I love about boogies is the amazing core tone before any effects are used. you could rock up with guitar and amp only and not feel restricted in tone, and even free to rely on your fingers and guitar to create different tones.
I loved the mark 1v I used to have, very organic harmonically, though found a single recto-verb had such a great core tone easily to dial and leave for almost all gigs. This little amp sounds big, the way I like 6l6 power.
Nice work Mesa and one day I may add to my arsenal, though the single rec will never leave my side. been a long time since I moved solely to Mesa as my choice of amp.
Thanks so much for the kind words,Scott Mac - Glad to hear the Single Rectifier is workin' well for you. That amp is a diamond in the rough... ;)
This is exactly what you needed!
Most definitely, you need to know how John Petrucci handles this beast,
but this kind of versatility is what really makes mark V 25 a gem in my opinion, so good job!
you can give andy a dais y rock 100 USD guitar and a 30 watt crate amp... and sound good, but andy+mesa+AT100=soundwaves making love to your eardrums
Jeez, this amp sounds great even through my TV.
Was this recorded using the Cab Clone output??
Hi +TheCrystalyne - As listed in the description: Mic'd with a Shure SM57, Shure KSM 313 and the internal CabClone set to the Open Back Cab Mode. Mixed with 40% SM57, 40% KSM 313 and 20% CabClone. Thanks for watching!
This sold me on the Mark V 25. Doug West comes across as a really nice guy too, bet he has a tonne of stories from the old Mesa days
I just aquired one of these, and it is AWESOME!!!! I''ve heard some of these guys on u-tube claim this head to be a practice or bed room volume-style amp, and they can't be further from the truth! Don't let the size of this head fool you. I've played some venues, that you wouldn't believe headroom and different tone you can get out of this amp, without loss of clarity, tone and volume! Please, for the bedroom player to the gigging musician, give this a spin! And once you check out the price point of one of these, you'll be blown away! I've been a Boogie player for years, and I need not argue with anyone about Mesa- Boogie's validity in any way, shape or form, just go to your nearest Mesa dealer. I promise, you'll be blown away!!!
Huge thanks for the kind words,Scott Perry! So glad that you're finding the Mark Five: 25 both giggable and bedroom friendly. We've always felt it handles both well with the EXTREME loud volume stuff maybe needing some reinforcement. BUT - the mini amps really do cover nearly 90%+ of the gigs people do. Just gotta check it out to believe it! Thanks again!
This is the first time I've ever heard the name Andy Timmons and I'm a 32-year-old guitar player. Weird.
Just bought one last week! and it sounds fuller than I expected, it brings a smile every time I hit a chord! my only main concern is the cooler fan, if it breaks, does the whole unit gets affected? or is there any way of switch it off?
Great Video. Andy and Doug are great! What I like about this video is that it seems natural and less marketing department. Tho marketing videos are probably needed for the masses. I enjoy this format more. Additionally, it really shows the great tones you can get with it. Tho, its hard to play like Andy. I also have this amp and think its great. Its very convenient in that its easy to carry around and you get all the pro tones you need from it.
About Volume, I was in a large club playing with this amp...I was just getting setup and had the Clean channel volume at close to 1.5 or 2 and the sound guy was like "Dude thats loud turn it down a bit". So it is plenty loud for club gigs or any gig I've personally witnessed for that matter. I also learned to wait for the sound guy to get some distance from my amp before setting it to whatever volume I'm going for haha...
Ha! +Darin Jones - That's a great technique for sound guys... :) Thanks for the very kind words regarding the video and the amp. This format has definitely become something we hope to do more... Exploring the possibilities with the amp and turning some knobs to see what they're capable of delivering. Thanks for pointing it out and thanks for sharing the Mark Five: 25's ability for real gigging volume. You and many others have found the same thing with the Mark Five: 25 and we're thirlled that it can handle so many gig levels in addition to it's 'small amp' potential. thanks again and enjoy! :)
To really appreciate the beauty of this demo and Andy’s extraordinary playing, one must listen through studio quality headphones....oh the joy!
'm lucky owner of one of these weapons of music. i play emg, barecknucles, benedetti, gibson, seymour, dimarzio HugoSierro pickups and kinman pickups, guys this is one of the best in world to respect the sound of your instrument, your way to play guitar, f**k it's so good. from clean to death (got a 7 string on it. it's awesome). thx for it. insane amp guys.
Many thanks, Prisonier. Very much appreciated.
Why "Boogie" sign on head is blured while camera is wide (from the right angle)?
I wish clean & crunch were on separate channels. Hell, I'd love a Stiletto 25 head.
If I weren't playing a Mark V I would probably have gotten one of these. These amps are just amazing and thanks for such a great vid!
Ordered mine today. Andy Timmons makes this amp sound incredible.
Congrats, MHoff - We hope the amp exceedcs your expectations. Please let us know if you have any questions and thanks for the kind words.
It certainly has exceeded my expectations. I tried a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister, but sent it back to Sweetwater because I didn't like it at all..I ordered the Mark V 25 to replace it and so far it covers every tone I could ever possibly want. For those that doubt the volume of a 25 watt head - this thing is a MONSTER on my 4x12 cabinet.
Can I buy Andy Timmons?
Hi Mesa! Great video and great tones by a monster guitarist. BTW, which preamp and converters did you use here? Any post processing done? Thanks!
It is just so much fun watching these two guys drawing inspiration and lots of positive energy from each other... Doug West being the "proud father" kind of guy here watching his brain-child being taken to good (best) use by an equally excited player... Gotta love Andy Timmons! Thanks Doug and Andy!
Thanks, shaggadelik - Great vibe you're picking up on... :D Thanks for watching!
Anyone know what Andy is playing at 16:55? I swear I've heard it before but can't place it. Love it...
The MESA/Boogie Mark Five is amazing!
i need play with MF.
where i can buy this amp in Indonesia ???? price ?
Hi +Théÿò DöRe - Please contact the authorized Mesa distributor in Indonesia for pricing and availability: Melodia Sultan Iskandar Muda No. 15B, Pondok Indah, Jakarta, INDONESIA
Thanks for your interest!
When is Mesa going to be affordable for the middle class ? I can't even afford the mini rectifier, and the pricing for this mark five here in Europe is almost 2000 euro's ... for a 25 watt that will barely be heard above my drum kit :s Guess I'm going to look for a different amp with a lot more watt's or I'll need to go second hand, Thanks mesa :(
You can't get the Mesa sound from other brands, and Mesas are made in the US, most other brands in China.
Sorry....I was so taken by the the Sound and Andy's playing...I got excited and did not read the description. I have the LoneStar with 2 LoneStar cabinets half closed with C90's and I really love the way they sound...Looks like the LoneStar circuitry is in this amp PLUS many more....does this amp have the ability to set boost for solo's
This is a wonderful demo. Andy and Doug should do all the Mesa amp demos -- that would be fantastic!
Great amp and nice playing from Andy..One of the few players who always play guitar with a great smile..always enjoy his playing!
Wow, just a sick video! - I'm ordering this amp as soon as I finish typing this note - I been looking for an amp for in house jams/recording and this so fits the bill! Have never played mesa's and don't know why but here shortly I will be. Great video, obviously the amazing Andy Timmons at the helm and just a great overall overview of this amp. Surfs up and man I'm seriously stoked to play thru this and record.
I have one question I am leaning towards the slant cab mini rectifier 1x12 versus this rectifier cab as played thru here, any suggestions or thoughts on one versus the other other than the fact that there's 2x12's here n will obv have more punch..I'll be using this for in-house jams/recording only.
Thanks again for sharing and demo'n this mo!
Thanks for the amazing kind words and enthusiasm, +Bruddah Buddy ! Look forward to welcoming you to the Boogie family. :) The 1x12 Rectifier cabs sound great and may have a SLIGHT leaning toward being a little better for higher gain sounds than clean or mid gain as it's a closed back but non-ported cab. Clean sounds can get a little 'woofy' with non-ported, closed-back cabs. If you play all styles, the 1x12 Thiele cab is a goods choice since it's front ported and closed-back, so it provides the best of punch and also some open-ness for good clean and mid gain sounds. You can't go wrong either way but the Thiele is a little bit more versatile. Hope this helps and thanks again for your interest! :D
Myself and Andy jammin some Beatles!
ruclips.net/video/mEi8nddNtJM/видео.html
Andy Timmons + Mesa Boogie = World Class !! Nothing more to say.....
Thank you, +dfifty2 - Much appreciated!
I know a large part of this is Andy but this thing sounds perfect.
I absolutely love how much fun these guys are having together...nevermind the 'rock star' gear :)
Today I’m going to the local guitar store to try one. The best amp video ever. Both Andy and Doug are great to take the best out of the amp.
Wow. Everyone puts Mesa in the Metal amp team. But these amps seems to fit all needs. Great demo.
In all seriousness, this is the best amp demo I have ever seen, and that's a big part of what I watch on RUclips. As a pro photo and video shooter, I can appreciate all those aspects as well. (even the truck noise at about the 4 minute mark of this video.. lol. I SO feel your pain, there). I have owned a rectoverb 50 and 2 Lonestars and a Cab Clone and Mesa has always answered any and all questions without hesitation and has some actual advice as well. I just sold the Lonestar and waiting on payment from a client and will be picking one of these amps up. I live about 75 miles from The Guitar Sanctuary, and have been to see Andy and the Mesa folks when they were there a while back. What a group of down to earth, customer-centered people. That truly goes for Mesa/Boogie, The Guitar Sanctuary and Andy. Some of the most approachable and helpful people I have ever dealt with.
ive always dreamed of owning a Mesa boogie, you guys are truly the best wish you all the success !!
great delay but not on this amp !!! strange way to test amp sounds !!!!
Sounds great! Too bad the modes aren't switchable via footswitch! Damn it!
Right?!
This video is a winner ! A demo like it should be: a little bit of explanation and at least 70% of playing. Very good review, a wonderful top notch amp, wonderful player and a very good "moderator" Mr West. But let's be honest, Andy Timmons would make any amp sound wonderful !
Thank youMars Wabisabi ! Appreciate the kind words, and yeah... we kinda have to agree. :)
I've had mine for a month now. Combined with my 2X12 Port City OS cab, the tones are unreal. You guys really hit a homerun with this one. Nice job!
Cool! Want to buy one too. How does it work live? Is it enough volume?
I've looked at Mesa as sort of the gold standard of amps for several years now. There's so much you can do with their amps, it's really quite amazing. One of my heroes is John Petrucci aswell, so he essentially introduced me to the sound of Boogie. At 25 watts it's much more affordable than alot of their other amps, which says alot given it's over 2K where I live. You get what you pay for most of the time though and this is obviously most of the time in this case.
Jorn Vallis you do get what you pay for, and possibly even more with mesas
So many good sounds, shame the voicing options aren't foot switchable.
sure sounds like Foghat 6:56 Andy....great amp....AWESOME sound BUT SO expensive...OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so sorry those channel modes aren't footswitchable.
i own this thing and it is great, but once you turn on the graphic eq all the knobs don't even matter. The graphic eq just adds something that i can't quite put into words.... they might as well of just made an amp with two graphic eqs and 2 master volumes and 2 gains. thats all you need, its SWEEEEEETT
What a superb demo. I always wondered why there were so many switches on a Boogie, compared to a Fender. This demo thoroughly explains the Mark Five:25. Now I'm counting the days until I can buy one.
Sounds great. One issue. Andy steps on a pedal or two. What are they? I know one is a delay as you can hear it. If he's using a boost pedal that should be stated upfront. It sucks to buy gear based on a demo and then not being able to dial in the tones
The bar has been set so high here, that I don't think any other review of gear can possibly top what has been done here. Andy is just phenomenal and that amp is just GODLY. My next amp. Period. Bravo to the highest level. This was such a well put together video and the sound quality is just amazing. Well done MESA!!!
Very kind words,kommi1974 - Thank you so much! And thanks for watching... :D
Wow that's something I really like! More of those reviews with high class guitar players like Andy! Thanks!
Thank youDennis N. ! Will do and thanks for watching!
This is what every amp demo should be! Great sounding amp.
Just a great vibe and conversation.... They both are top notch..and a little baked if you ask me.... Andy is my favorite by a mile...and a better dude to boot..and he's local!!! Looking for the Mesa 25 now...
This is not just the amp, he’s using a ton of gear. I’d like to know exactly what?
Prob jus a drive maybe compressor
Probably the best all round amp Mesa sells. I have a Trans Atlantic T-30, nice amp but it doesn't do what this Mark 5/25 does!
Many thanks for the kind words, Paul. The TA-30 does some fantastic, unique things that a Mark Five: 25 can't touch as well. So many different flavors of tone... so little time. Thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words!
