Andy Timmons isn't called ''King of Tone'' for no reason. Not only an exceptional musican but he's also the total opposite of an arrogant rockstar, very down to earth guy,who genuinely loves playing music and sharing his knowledge with others.
Absolutely. Met him at a New York club show. So accommodating and generous with his time. Introduced me to his family! Wonderful, down to earth and honest talent.
+greekfreak1980 I met him once when he was playing with Simon Phillips at a Clinic a couple of years ago. he's so humble and down to earth. I really love the look of the latest Boogie Videos btw. The Room with the Blue Curtains looks beautiful.
What is nice is that Andy doesnt change its mic configuration nor does he change the volume of the guitar during the whole song. He only gets its nuances and vibes by modulating his picking strength. This is pure awesomeness.
Ha! FenderPlayer86 - Hadn't heard the Mark Five: 25 could cure the flu yet but we'll take it :D. Glad you're diggin' the amp and thanks for the kind words!
Sooooo sweeeeeet..... pure talent with with a sprinkle of magic dust. I've loved Andy's playing for years and sounds better than ever. Would love to catch Andy in the UK some time.
Every time I see this guy I'm left tripping over my lower jaw. It's quite a thing to see someone with such passion for something, and then you hear that passion flowing out of the instrument and know that same passion is what drove them to this point. I have a firm belief it's a spectacle that is only fully understood by players who hold the instrument for their entire lives, as something never to be lost. It becomes a part of who you are. He's truly one if the best.
Andy's always guiding his notes to the Audience with his right hand, always so gracefully.. getting mine in bordeaux/tan and the 2x12 matching recto cab.. I can't wait to own this beautiful piece of equipment!
I was thinking the exact same thing! lol...I mean, OK...you can prefer w/e else it is that tickles the tone nerve but c'mon, this sounds great - granted Andy sure helps sell it!
That is my exact tone in my ear. That is the exact way I want my guitar to sound... I'm certainly getting that amp... The technique may take longer but the tone is PHENOMENAL!
I had never herd of Andy until after this video....HOW HAVE I COMPLETELY MISSED THIS GUY UNTIL NOW??!?!? I don't think I'll ever play on anything but a Mesa Boogie! xD This is absolutely fantastic!
Love this dude, super talented and you can tell he is loving/enjoying playing his music. The world needs more of that. Rock on man! \m/ You have a new follower
Andy really truly does just rule. His tone is my benchmark. I've had a lesson with him too (whole afternoon) and was fortunate enough to then get to watch him play an entire evening at the ZinZen Lounge in McKinny TX (I think that's what it was called) and he's just as nice a guy as everyone says he is- and get's that tone in very small club setting. It was a highlight of my guitar experience to sit with Andy and hear his suggestions. Changed the way I approach the guitar. Much of what he shared is also on his newest instructional video from TrueFire, I highly recommend it, then you can go back over and over to it! So Mesa, when are you coming out with the mini Lone Star! Mine doesn't fit in the front of my car's trunk, I'd take a mine Lone Star today! One of the best amps I own and I own some good ones!
Thanks for these amazing Tone Sessions videos. I like these new style demos so much better than the generic, old style, just going through the layout and sample tones, type of videos. You all are producing the best sounding amps on the market today, great job on making excellent quality videos to showcase them.
Such an amazing and inspiring guitarist! Andy Timmons, man... I actually meet him at NAMM 2013 and he is a super cool guy. That lil Boogie sounds HUGE too!
Not many guitarists can pull off a "complete band"-like soundscape without accompanyment...Andy Timmons is one of those few (I realize there's accompanyment in this video, but there are plenty of examples on RUclips where it's just AT alone on the guitar, yet sounding as full as a 5-piece).
***** This is the video that sold the Mark V 25 for me. Andy does a fine job coaxing tone out of this. I picked mine up on Saturday, was able to use it yesterday during rehearsal... very easy to integrate into my rig. Cab Clone worked great too (bass player has an M9 Carbine so Cab Clone helped me fill in my sound through the PA). That being said, I did not NEED the DI, but I think i'll get used to running it so that I have that option when we do larger gigs. It does sound different than a cab.
MESA/Boogie Pleeeeeeeaaasee release other Andy Timmons videos! They are awesome! Every Mesa I have bought in my life was because of Andy Timmons, including this Mark Mini! Thanks Mesa for endorsing such great artists!
Wow...Where do I even begin? What you have captured here is that once in a lifetime performance that is pure genius! With Andy's ability to convey his voice and emotion from his heart and soul, through his hands, with his guitar, through your fine equipment, has truly made for an amazing performance! The quality of audio and video production on this video is second to none! I'm sure with everyone's hectic schedules nowadays, shooting a video, or series of videos, can be quite a daunting task, however, I am here to tell you that the fans greatly appreciate the time and energy devoted to sharing such magic with us all! And from the marketing side of things, I feel this video will surely contribute to additional sales of your wonderful products. I know as soon as my budget allows, I will surely be guilty of the forementioned statement!
Thank you so much for the kind words, +AccuracySpeaks ! So glad you dug the video and we really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and kind words. :) Being a musical instrument company, we love music! And when we have the opportunity to share an exceptional performance like this one with others, we're excited for that...as well as knowing it can be a positive influence on people's purchasing decisions... :D Thanks for watching and thanks speaking to the efforts we go to to create entertaining videos - it's a labor of love!
I own this amp it is awesome. It can handle almost any style music. My old fenders have not been played since I purchased as the clean sound is amazing, and the overdrive channel has it all.
So great,Jim Coleman, Ltd. - Thanks very much for the amazing kind words! Glad you're diggin' it and let us know if there's anything we can ever help with. Thanks for your support!
Well, I have to say that this video and petrucci's one ( the one where he is testing the Mark V for the first time ) just sold me this amp. I was looking for a versatil, modern, nice looking and outstanding amp. As a great fan of Petrucci and timmons, I think that i'll love my Mark V 25 from the bottom of my heart ! haha Thank you mesa ;)
Thanks so much, Guitar&Jer - Really appreciate the kind words and hope you enjoy the Mark Five: 25 as much as we/you think you will! :D. It'll offer up new tones and sounds for years to come with all the modes and such. Thanks for watching and thanks for your support!
Same and why I bought one. I was all set to buy a Bemis Custom Amp (which would not be nearly as feature rich as this in the end) but he never responded to my emails lol. His loss and Mesa and I's gain!
Thanks, cannabischan - Music is fun and all the little details that make it into something are a part of the bigger picture. Thanks for the kind words and the comment... and thanks for watching! :D
Andy toca muito oh, esse kra é o kra esse começo tou quase chorando é lindo de mais👏👏👏 parabens pro Andy ele tok muito oh, essa sonoridade é muito bacana
I hate these Beatles tribute albums. This guy is the first and ONLY exception to have the correct touch and sensitivity to the Beatles and created a work of art. I've been wearing this out since the day it was released. Andy has a certain intensity that a lot of players don't.
Thank your Mesa for this video and all the detail info provided with it. Its seems to really authenticate what is being demo. Also what great playing!!!! Don't even need the lyrics....WOW!!! Keep them coming !!! A MF25 owner as well!!!
I've told you (on that video of Petrucci testing the V 25) that you guys should call Andy to play through it as well! Mesa Boogie's amps are a true classic and outstanding tone, but it's always even pleasurable to hear from Andy's hands! It does sound even greater and smoother!
Holy sh*t, that was superb! As a Merseysider I thought I would hate any pilfering of the Beatles songs but he more than did it justice there, excellent stuff.
Thanks Mesa/Boogie. Can you please tell us the settings that Andy Timmons used on the video demo Tone Sessions: Andy Timmons & Mark Five: 25™ - “Lucy” Playthrough? Thanks. I f I can get that tone I'm buying one!
Sometimes I wonder how my other idols such as joe satriani or steve vai, etc... would sound with this or any other mesa amps.... Of course setup to their liking ( their trademark tones)... :-) Is it possible to invite other non-mesa artists to play boogies as well? By the way, great video and tones you got there! :-)
Cirej DC - I think this would be great but I expect that you would find that lots of non-Mesa artists have other endorsements that wouldn't allow them to just come in and play our gear. We'd love to have Satch or Vai come play for the Tone Sessions though... :D
Got to say that until Andy came out with Sgt. Pepper's I was essentially "bored of the Beatles". But Andy has revitalized my interest. This song is epic and really highlights Andy's versatilaty.
I just got my lone star amp thanks to Mr Timmons, I'm in love with it, but this is another kind of monster! looking forward to my next amp. :D. Was the cab clone used in this recording?
HiDavid Fernandez - Congrats on the new Lone Star! Hope it's sounding amazing and thanks for the kind words on this video. Regarding the CabClone, we ended up using the INTERNAL CabClone on the Mark Five: 25 instead of the standalone CabClone because the Open-Back setting on the internal CabClone provided the best blend with the mics. But we set up the standalone CabClone for a potential comparison vid at some point in the future, and because we thought we might want to use the Vintage cab sim... but the Open-Back setting won out in this application. And it makes the rig in the video look cool too... :) Thanks for watching!
MESA/Boogie I have the lone star and dual rec, and the original preamp as well as the single rack version forget whats it called now,, but my mini mark V just kills, I had a little issue with the effects send and return but the people at mesa put me right, I rehearsed with at a full band situation and it worked fine, I used a marshall cab with 2 x 12 v 30's had it on 25 watts and it was LOUD, that's with a skynyrd tribute band with 3 guitar players, it cut through the mix really well
+Hollis Prince. I'm pretty sure Mesa has discontinued production of the Electra Dyne. They probably want the artists to use current models, just for practical business reasons.
Brad Carroll Yeah, they discontinued it a couple years ago. I'm just a huge fan of the Electra Dyne and Andy Timmons and I couldn't help but suggest him playing through one. The Electra Dyne is one of their best amps and it's just drifting away into obscurity :)
@ Hollis Prince. One good thing about that is that I've seen them used in great condition for $800!! That's a bargain and a half. I too like the Electra Dyne. It's very quick to dial in your sound which is great if you switch guitars/tunings several times a show.
Andy Timmons isn't called ''King of Tone'' for no reason. Not only an exceptional musican but he's also the total opposite of an arrogant rockstar, very down to earth guy,who genuinely loves playing music and sharing his knowledge with others.
Totally agree,***** - one of the greats without question! :D
Absolutely. Met him at a New York club show. So accommodating and generous with his time. Introduced me to his family! Wonderful, down to earth and honest talent.
Awesome, Andrew Zsigmond - Love these kind of stories! :D
+greekfreak1980 I met him once when he was playing with Simon Phillips at a Clinic a couple of years ago. he's so humble and down to earth.
I really love the look of the latest Boogie Videos btw. The Room with the Blue Curtains looks beautiful.
he is a very nice guitarist both in skill n attitude
Andy could play a flute into a radio and still sound like Andy. Unbelievable touch. Love to see more of these videos MESA!
Uh, huh***** - so true. Thanks for watching and the kind words and more on the way! :D
What is nice is that Andy doesnt change its mic configuration nor does he change the volume of the guitar during the whole song. He only gets its nuances and vibes by modulating his picking strength. This is pure awesomeness.
Andy Timmons is such a tasteful player, chops never gets in the way for his awesome tones.
This performance is a masterpiece, thank you Andy timmons and the MESA team
Got my Mark Five: 25 yesterday.... it cured my flu I had for a week :D Best amp ever!!
Man, the roar of that open D chord...
Andy is so incredibly talented yet so human and down to earth.
Agreed and thanks for the kind words, Argle!
MESA/Boogie Wow. I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy! Lol
Andy should get more recognition, thats just some sweet tone and playin
Thanks,Cool Backing Tracks - Agree!
MESA/Boogie BTW love his Boogie tones, good work guys!
Yeah, he's great. I've seen him three or four times live and he's simply amazing.
Andy's always guiding his notes to the Audience with his right hand, always so gracefully.. getting mine in bordeaux/tan and the 2x12 matching recto cab.. I can't wait to own this beautiful piece of equipment!
Congrats, Travis - this will be a stunning looking AND sounding rig. Enjoy and let us know if there's anything we can help with! :)
Absolutely will. Thanks, you folks rock! Cheers
A real treat...to hear one of the most brilliant musicians of all-time playing through this delicious amp!
Thanks,cmonsterz ! Agreed... :D
My God.....his tone is always so perfect. How could two people possibly downvote this?
A wonder of nature, the downvoters, eholdglamrocker ? Thanks for watching!
Is it possibly too perfect??
I was thinking the exact same thing! lol...I mean, OK...you can prefer w/e else it is that tickles the tone nerve but c'mon, this sounds great - granted Andy sure helps sell it!
Those are the Tone-Deaf Pearl Jam fans lol
That is my exact tone in my ear. That is the exact way I want my guitar to sound... I'm certainly getting that amp... The technique may take longer but the tone is PHENOMENAL!
Awesome, Albi! thanks for the kind words and glad you dig it!
I had never herd of Andy until after this video....HOW HAVE I COMPLETELY MISSED THIS GUY UNTIL NOW??!?!? I don't think I'll ever play on anything but a Mesa Boogie! xD This is absolutely fantastic!
Thanks,The Brutal Bros. Appreciate the kind words and glad you dig it!
Such a polished player! One of the best by far!!

Thanks, +B2Rockin - We agree!
amazing tone, playing, style, touch, dynamics, etc... This is truly art.
Thank you for the kind words, Alan. Much appreciated!

Phenomenal playing Andy! My new favorite version of the song.
Thanks for these amazing Tone Sessions videos. I like these new style demos so much better than the generic, old style, just going through the layout and sample tones, type of videos. You all are producing the best sounding amps on the market today, great job on making excellent quality videos to showcase them.
Thanks for the kind words,DT Dent - We're doing our best to bring some good examples of the what the amps can do. Thanks for watching!
Such an amazing and inspiring guitarist! Andy Timmons, man... I actually meet him at NAMM 2013 and he is a super cool guy. That lil Boogie sounds HUGE too!
Ok. It came today with a recto 2x12. Im in love. Thanks mesa. This is tone heaven.
Great player, great tone, great amp!

Andy + great amp + super well-intonated guitar = happiness.
Yes! Beautiful tones!
Andy Timmon + Mesa Tone = pure magic. I will stop at nothing until I own a Mark V:25!
Between this and the Petrucci video,I feel the same way.

Superb sound! And thanks for the very good MKIIC+-Mode settings - never sounding like Timmons ;) but still alike. Greetings from germany.
I hate these Beatles tribute albums. This guy is the first and ONLY exception to have the correct touch and sensitivity to the Beatles and created a work of art.
I've been wearing this out since the day it was released. Andy has a certain intensity that a lot of players don't.
This version is just incredible. I feel the emotion coming through throughout the song.
I wouldn't say ONLY. There's a few exceptions. Jeff Beck does a fine interpretation of A Day In The Life.
Great song great player. Great guitar & sound
a Master at work !
Thank your Mesa for this video and all the detail info provided with it. Its seems to really authenticate what is being demo. Also what great playing!!!! Don't even need the lyrics....WOW!!! Keep them coming !!! A MF25 owner as well!!!
Beautiful!!!
His album of Sgt.Peppers is awesome. All from memory. A must listening to anyone who wants to hear a kindred spirit to the orginal.
Incredible performance as is always the case with Mr. Timmons. Andy is a beast of a player. I see a Mesa in my near future. :-)
neloramirezguitar :D
Best Beatles interpretation ever!!! Andy is the best!!

Thanks,Lee McDonald! Glad you dug it and thanks for watching! :D
I wish this video was 5 hours instead of 5 minutes :(
It feels like i heard this melody somewhere, but i cant tell!
Nice. Very nice. Love that finger plucking, but who wouldn't lol.
Thanks Mesa/Boogie. Can you please tell us the settings that Andy Timmons used on the video demo Tone Sessions: Andy Timmons & Mark Five: 25™ - “Lucy” Playthrough? Thanks. I f I can get that tone I'm buying one!

Ok guys ..just bought one from these Andy videos. Cool demos!
+Michael McAdam How are you liking?
+Jonathan Nelson it's a great little amp.. I don't think I would like the full mk 5 . I really like the el 84 tune sound. I'll post clips soon..
I´d Like to find the backing track of this music to play , but not find it anywhere
Master!!!
Sometimes I wonder how my other idols such as joe satriani or steve vai, etc... would sound with this or any other mesa amps.... Of course setup to their liking ( their trademark tones)... :-)
Is it possible to invite other non-mesa artists to play boogies as well? By the way, great video and tones you got there! :-)
Cirej DC - I think this would be great but I expect that you would find that lots of non-Mesa artists have other endorsements that wouldn't allow them to just come in and play our gear. We'd love to have Satch or Vai come play for the Tone Sessions though... :D
Got to say that until Andy came out with Sgt. Pepper's I was essentially "bored of the Beatles". But Andy has revitalized my interest. This song is epic and really highlights Andy's versatilaty.

Senor'e TONE .....Rock ON Andy
I just got my lone star amp thanks to Mr Timmons, I'm in love with it, but this is another kind of monster! looking forward to my next amp. :D. Was the cab clone used in this recording?
HiDavid Fernandez - Congrats on the new Lone Star! Hope it's sounding amazing and thanks for the kind words on this video. The Beatles would be proud!

Wow.

Coming soon, baggedcereals ... We captured a lot of video that day. Just have to edit it! :)
MESA/Boogie Can't wait! Huge Andy Timmons and Mesa/Boogie fan! The Electra Dyne is my favorite amp, get Andy to play one next time, please!
