That really adds to my current perspective on it. having listening to it more than once now, the 'fast paced man' cant slow down and takes me to toxic masculinity creating, but also ignoring not just their pain, but pain of others. the pov being outside looking in and seeing hurt everywhere and the dissonance we've somehow created for ourselves.

Additionally, I never went through religious "trauma," per se, as in I've never had a singular incident, but it's been an oppressive cloud over my family relationships and life when growing up in the church, causing me to agonize over this moral code I thought of as damning while conflicting with my own identity and philosophies.
@@supremeoverlord0 I'm so sorry to read that, but I thank you for sharing! It's hard to let go, sometimes, but we must remember that life isn't just pain and suffering and that by always focusing on it we may create an echo chamber of constant hatred and violence. It already exists outside so we need to try and remember that on the inside is a lot of strenght and kindness and love (not romantically, although to some it may be) I hope that you can find some sort of peace, one day. Hey, a lot of these comments are just asking for more content now, so even though I don't usually leave comments I wanna say your videos are really cool! Thanks for spending time making them for us!
mother mother just released 2 NEW songs that are such opposite vibes i love it. "Stay Behind" has very much really-monumental-but-sad-but-nessecary-turning-point-in-a-coming-of-age-movie vibes and "I Got Love" is a very much things-can-suck-but-i-can-be-happy-anyway vibe and i love both so so much
The way i interpret ghosting is that they felt that they were just floating through their life, just haunting those around them, and eventually they decide to start actually living! Ive always really vibed with that song, im so glad you reacted to it!
people have interpreted arms tonite as both a literal song about death and loss AND about sexy time for awhile so you were right on the mark with that !
trying to stan gorillaz !! songs id recommend are: feel good inc. rhinestone eyes clint eastwood souk eye dare on melancholy hill kids with guns busted and blue
Love all the songs you mentioned (don't remember "vouch" tho...). I think it would be nice to hear Bill's interpretation of the lyrics of "Yellow light".
This one probably won't be a super common request but you should totally check out Will Wood and the Tapeworms! If you like lyrical analysis, he's got a lot for you to look at. If you do, I'd say you should check out: - Skeleton Appreciation Day in Vestal, N.Y. - Hand Me My Shovel, I'm Going In - Suburbia Overture - Marsha, Thankk You for the Dialectics, but I Need You to Leave. - I / Me / Myself - Laplace's Angel (Hurt People? Hurt People!) I think you'd either really like him or be kind of scared by him. Either way, it'd be a lot of fun!
both ways of taking in music is very valid. i just gravitate to lyrics and story. good tunes bopping is great too. please remember to be kind to yourself, ok?
Ooh, I second this! Mystery Skulls are a lot of fun. ^^ Adding on to this, I suggest he try some of the animations by MysteryBen that showcase some of the songs~
I would recommend Will Wood and the tapeworms, some songs i'd recommend are: -Dr. Sunshine is dead -Love, me normally -2012 -Memento mori -Suburbia Overture Or just the whole normal album

The first album Love Run is pretty good too, King, Elsa's Song and Not Yet/Love Run (reprise) are my personal favorites.

I think you’d really like the vibe of Lord Huron. Each of their albums is a story, you can either casually listen to them because they slap or fall into a rabbithole of all the supplementary content they’ve made like I am. They’ve become the air I breath, that’s fine, I’m fine Since none of their songs are based on real events, you might have an easier time watching them. There are some sad moments, but they’re moments My favorites are World Ender, Secret of Life, Meet Me in the Woods, Lonesome Dreams, When the Night is Over, Balancer's Eye, Ancient Names (Part 1 and 2, he he), and basically everything but it’s so hard to pick. Though it might be better to pick a specific album because there’s a story to them
In the song Ghosting I'm pretty sure it was meant as disassociating because ghosting wasn't used as a term in relationships when the song was made Also I always interpreted Burning Pile as trying to burn all your problems but if you caught fire you still would feel as if you were burning all your problems away, because if you were gone you wouldn't have any problems..
How about stanning The Hoosiers? They are a incredibly underrated band whom I love immensely,,, Honestly, all of their songs are amazing, but their most popular is for sure 'A Sadness Runs Through Him' ~ I would love to see you react to any of their songs!
If you do a cavetown part three, i highly suggest all these songs -night knuckles -snake & the prairie dogs -calpol -BG noise -I'll make cereal -another one of those days -big bowl in the sky -things that make it warm -empty bed -trying -888 -talk to me
i feel like arms tonite is abt a toxic relationship where the pov is depressed but trying to feel better, but they still let the other person "kill" them, because theyre in love. so even if they try to be better its almost impossible cause theyre hopelessly in love with someone who just kills them every time, yknow? the pov romanticizes the pain putting first the love, "dont you think its kinda cute that i died right inside your arms tonite?" yknow
I love how you talk about music and meaning of songs. It's so refreshing to see someone pay just as much attention to subtle things in music as well as you do. It's easy to see how important it is to you. Mother Mother is such a talented group that produces so many fun yet sad songs. Their lyrics are amazing and I love how they like to leave the songs up to interpretations
i love that you really dive in to the song and speak about the meaning you perceive the song to mean, it really is like a discussion about the art. its awesome, keep up the good work :)
I am going to gently steer you in the direction of Sleeping at Last. He’s a creator who specializes in Making You Feel Things, and I will recommend Saturn, East, Son, and Eight
My grandson introduced me to Mother Mother and I’m just loving them. I’ve known people that pseudo-stalk their exes, saying they need closure. I love Ghosting, because the closure came from inside the ghoster. It’s excellent.
Hello friend! I love seeing your perspective on these fun and varied music genres. I would love if you tried to stan The Oh Hellos!! They are an amazing group with a unique sound and a lot of emotion. Songs I personally suggest: Hello My Old Heart Eat You Alive Torches Grow Lapis Lazuli Soap Thank you, and have a great day!
Yay! Bill is doing Mother Mother again, that’s cool. *Remembers how Bill was unnerved by a few of the previous songs* Oh. Wait. *Begins preparing virtual hugs*
Thank you so much for this video! I appreciate how much you talk about every song, the lyrics and the music so much and it is really interesting to hear your interpretation of everything! You really talk about every song in depth. I really enjoyed this video
Thank you Bill. What I appreciate about your reaction vids is how you incorporate so much analysis and thought with each song that you listen to. It truly helps form such a caring yet sweet atmosphere, I think? Hope you're doing well!
great video bill!! I love your reactions! I recommend the mountain goats, especially the songs this year, no children, cry for judas, up the wolves, autoclave and golden boy. I hope you enjoy whichever music you do next!

Ghosting is my favourite Mother Mother song and I love your comments on it, you went much deeper into into it that I've ever thought about so thank you.
Little Pistol is one of those songs that's always been very important to me. Bit of background here - I have PTSD and I experience a lot of paranoid delusions, and also have GAD and a few other disorders on top of that that predispose me to anxiety attacks and the like. It reminds me a lot of my own thought patterns when a delusion takes hold - the slow build, and then just coming to a point and shattering. And then it's over. And I'm still here. And I'm alive. I used to live in extreme fear of these delusions, but with time I've learned to cope and (generally) staying calm helps keep them at bay. "I won't be packing little pistols no more"
Ghosting to me feels like someone drifting through life aimless (Ive been ghosting along) because of depression(it do be like that) and then finally trying to take charge, deciding they don’t want to put themselves or others through it anymore. Though with the “you dont need me” at the end, it doesn’t really feel like they won the battle.
You should try listening to Ashton Irwin’s album “Superbloom”, specifically: -Skinny Skinny -Greyhound -Sunshine -I’m to Blame -Perfect Lie (Though, the whole album is AMAZING so any/all of the songs would be great for you to listen/react to)
A big point to know about Mother Mother is that they touch on tougher topics through the narrative of story-telling. A lot of the songs meanings and overall themes of each album are chapters in the life of the lead singer, Ryan Guldmond. For a better understanding of the songs, follow the natural track order of each album. Hope that helps.
bill has to be one of the most genuine feeling people i’ve ever watched. his whole channel feels like a safe space and i love it so much; not to mention the amazing quality content. love you bill, thanks for all the cool vids and for being a good person!:D
I think Ghosting was the first Mother Mother song I ever heard, so it was great to hear your analysis of it! Your thoughts on all these songs were so interesting. "arms tonite" always struck me as a song about someone suffering from... early death, while their partner was still going. Hence "suicide" at the end. Their partner had to "finish themselves off".
ahhh im so glad you did a part two!! i hope you do a part three because i would LOVE to see you look at some of the songs from their album Eureka! and a Very Good Very Bad Thing some good songs: - I Go Hungry - Problems - Simply Simple - Alone and Sublime - The Stand - No One to Nothing - Chasing it Down - Kept Down super amazing songs, i love them SO much

I know mother mother songs can seem really heavy but I really love the way they romanticize the human experience. They hit so many different perspectives and stories with songs that make you want dance and shout along with them. For me, personally, they make me think of sad experiences and be thankful for what they tought me and how strong they've made me. This band really puts a triumphant foot forward when it comes to these topics instead of a defeated one
Honestly, every song of Mother Mother is a story both musically and lyrically, so I REALLY WOULDN'T OPPOSE IF YOU MAKE A WHOLE SERIES LISTENING TO THEIR SONGS JUST SAYING
I probably said this on the other Mother Mother video as well, but I've always loved how raw and soul-bearing Mother Mother songs feel. I really admire both their talent at writing really nuanced lyrics and then also putting it to super expressive music, and of course their vocal talents- it's such a powerful combination. Idk their songs have definitely made me cry a lot more than I'd like to admit :'O But in a cathartic way. You haven't experienced Mother Mother correctly if you haven't listened to them as you break down crying and manically, driving home from school in a half dissociated state, y'know? (Song of choice in that case was Dance and Cry).
I rarely think too deep about the meaning of songs so these videos are so cool to watch. It’s so fun to listen to your thoughts and either agree or disagree with my interpretation. You’re input on the songs is just so cool. You give major comfort RUclipsr vibes haha. Also I am so grateful for everyone in the comments giving suggestions because I’ll scroll through just on my own and screenshot the bands and artists that seem interesting or I know a few songs of.
we should all take a moment to appreciate bill’s analysis of songs. he’s got such an eloquent way of articulating what he wants to say and i love it

His reaction throughout wrecking ball was kinda cringe but the review itself is fine.

- Arabella
- Do I wanna know
- R u mine
- Knee socks
- I wanna be yours
It’s sad to me that every comment is a suggestion, no conversation about the current video
i appreciate suggestions, but i do love conversations about the video/the music the most.
I think of it more as people love the video that they simply want more and to hear what he has to say about their favorite stuff
if you ever do a cavetown pt 3 i think you’d like
-empty bed
-trying
-juliet
-paul
-888
-talk to me
also loved the vid, mother mother’s a great band and i’m glad you enjoy them
yess juliet
paul is a cover, not an original. but the other 3 are great! and I add "talk to me"
ruclips.net/video/o_Um3zXeW9c/видео.html he has done two !
ruclips.net/video/w15xuGvG6Sw/видео.html
Add 888 ind I'm cool with it
Hey, a lot of these comments are just asking for more content now, so even though I don't usually leave comments I wanna say your videos are really cool! Thanks for spending time making them for us!
mother mother just released 2 NEW songs that are such opposite vibes i love it. "Stay Behind" has very much really-monumental-but-sad-but-nessecary-turning-point-in-a-coming-of-age-movie vibes and "I Got Love" is a very much things-can-suck-but-i-can-be-happy-anyway vibe and i love both so so much
i love i got love
you should react to the front bottoms?
some songs:
Twin size mattress
Be nice to me
Flashlight
Maps
I'm super excited! Mother mother is one of my favorites and I'm glad they're gaining more traction.

@@justkidding2780 oh pog! thanks for telling me

If you do, I'd say you should check out:
- Skeleton Appreciation Day in Vestal, N.Y.
- Hand Me My Shovel, I'm Going In
- Suburbia Overture
- Marsha, Thankk You for the Dialectics, but I Need You to Leave.
- I / Me / Myself
- Laplace's Angel (Hurt People? Hurt People!)
I think you'd either really like him or be kind of scared by him. Either way, it'd be a lot of fun!
YES
Oh Yes I was about to comment but I thought no one would know them - I actually only discovered them like last week but it’s been looping constantly

I think you’d really like the vibe of Lord Huron. Each of their albums is a story, you can either casually listen to them because they slap or fall into a rabbithole of all the supplementary content they’ve made like I am. They’ve become the air I breath, that’s fine, I’m fine
Since none of their songs are based on real events, you might have an easier time watching them. There are some sad moments, but they’re moments
My favorites are World Ender, Secret of Life, Meet Me in the Woods, Lonesome Dreams, When the Night is Over, Balancer's Eye, Ancient Names (Part 1 and 2, he he), and basically everything but it’s so hard to pick. Though it might be better to pick a specific album because there’s a story to them
I adore lord huron, and love your picks! I would additionally suggest to bill Yawning Grave, Frozen Pines, and Dead Man's Hand!
@@danielep.4076 Aw yes, those are all amazing! I just listened to their new songs and I would wholeheartedly add Not Dead Yet
In the song Ghosting I'm pretty sure it was meant as disassociating because ghosting wasn't used as a term in relationships when the song was made
Also I always interpreted Burning Pile as trying to burn all your problems but if you caught fire you still would feel as if you were burning all your problems away, because if you were gone you wouldn't have any problems..
How about stanning The Hoosiers? They are a incredibly underrated band whom I love immensely,,,
Honestly, all of their songs are amazing, but their most popular is for sure 'A Sadness Runs Through Him' ~
I would love to see you react to any of their songs!
Yes! "Goodbye mr A" is my favorite song of theirs! The lyrics are amazing!
vouch!! A Sadness Runs Through Him, Goodbye Mr A, Cops and Robbers, Killer and Worried About Ray!!

So arms tonite being about adult fun time never crossed my mind
I THOUGHT IT WAS ABOUT DYING 😭🖐
same!
WAIT IT'S ABOUT ADULT FUN TIME!?
Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame
Hold up wait it’s not about literally people dying in each others arms?
i feel like arms tonite is abt a toxic relationship where the pov is depressed but trying to feel better, but they still let the other person "kill" them, because theyre in love. so even if they try to be better its almost impossible cause theyre hopelessly in love with someone who just kills them every time, yknow? the pov romanticizes the pain putting first the love, "dont you think its kinda cute that i died right inside your arms tonite?" yknow
It’s excellent.
i’ve been avoiding arms tonite as the magnus archives comes to the end (a podcast) yet here we are and once again i am crying
Hello friend! I love seeing your perspective on these fun and varied music genres. I would love if you tried to stan The Oh Hellos!! They are an amazing group with a unique sound and a lot of emotion. Songs I personally suggest:
Hello My Old Heart

Dude I think you’d love Julie and The Phantoms. It is such a feel good show with GREAT songs. If you wanna check out some songs, I’d recommend “Wake Up”, “Now or Never”, “Bright” and “This Band Is Back” bc they are the first few songs in the show (so no big spoilers and they’re really good).

"I won't be packing little pistols no more"
Please do trying to stan Poppy!!! Her entire I Disagree More album is incredible
Plus her Grammy's performance of "Eat" was incredible, it's a bit metal tho
yesyesyes!
You should try listening to Ashton Irwin’s album “Superbloom”, specifically:
-Skinny Skinny
-Greyhound
-Sunshine
-I’m to Blame
-Perfect Lie
(Though, the whole album is AMAZING so any/all of the songs would be great for you to listen/react to)
A big point to know about Mother Mother is that they touch on tougher topics through the narrative of story-telling.

-Catabolic Seed
-Icicles
-Feelin’ So Matryoshka
-Toynbee Tiles
-Community Gardens
-Starstruck

"arms tonite" always struck me as a song about someone suffering from... early death, while their partner was still going. Hence "suicide" at the end. Their partner had to "finish themselves off".

:)
If you wanna do Daughter, I absolutely recommend their song Smother, it's a really good sad song
