Thank you! Thank you Great video.. I'm 76 I do 140 push ups in the morning, walk at least 7 miles per week and go to the trainer two hours per week. I own and operate my sign and lighting business ess.
Smiled every time she said caPILLeries. I am surprised no mention of what I do every day (in addition to exercise), and that is INVERSION workout. Hang totally inverted from a chin up bar (using special boots) for 15-20 minutes. Ya think that boosts blood flow to the brain? Oh YES. Have her contact me for more info. Froggy.
Fascinating thanks (i got confused - did Dr Rena say wearing sox reduces core body temperature? And that's good for our sleep?) Just sounds counter intuitive.
@RenaMalik,M.D. @LouisaNicola Thank you both for this interesting information ✌️😇 Thank you @RenaMalik,M.D for all you do & for bringing your business to the O.C as well to help reach out to your followers in this area as well ✌️😇🙏

@@mike2986you have to get it measured by a professional (not your Apple Watch). It’s very difficult to increase your Vo2 max, and you can’t reliably measure progress yourself. You would be best to get a trainer who specializes in increasing Vi2 max to reliably show progress. And even then it’s not entirely clear how Vo2 max equates to longevity. And you can’t stop or you will regress. I decided chasing Vo2 max gains is not the best use of time.
Data shows that long-distance runners and cyclists and Olympic athletes do live longer than the general population. Athletes in contact sports, however, probably do not live as long because of repeated head trauma.
The key is to stay adequately hydrated as an athlete. Salt is depleted in the bodies of athletes, and many fail to replenish that salt loss after sweating for hours.

This was an outstanding segment. One of the best explications of why, specifically, exercise is so beneficial for brain health. Thank you.

Exercise is the key she put the hammer right on the nail . Excellent discussion ❤
This is an exciting conversation. I can feel my left ventricle getting stiff
This is very useful info, thank you!!!
Amazing content thank you ❤
Thank you so much. This video is very informative.
You’re so pretty doc ❤
Good one, but you should study Pranayams, Meditation and correlate it to deep sleep benefits.
Awesome information.
Thanks Dr.

After years of health and performance research on RUclips, it turns out we should be exercising and eating vegetables.
wouldnt ya know its all about the flow, im a raging pothead after 3pm ......kinda setting myself back it seems.
Finally, Dr. Rena Malik moves from discussion about genitals to brain science.
Hi Rena 😊Will
When I read the thumbnail I thought it was about growing my “other brain” down there not my actual brain 😂
I mean it always grows when I see Rena 😁
Can someone list the content please 😊?
Excellent Dr. Malik, by the way, is Ms. Nicola an Aussie?
No, she is human.

Chronotype is BS. It’s just habits. The only chronotype is: you have to sleep at night and wake up at sunrise.
I need to grow other parts. The brain is just fine.
Why admit that online?
@@ScooterOnHisWay2024 idk. I'm really working out hard to grow my calves and forearms, I thought some people might relate
Do you think video games, that are updated or changed periodically, are good brain exercises?
I found a small problem though. The doctors who promote this type of health never but never exercise.

Walking backwards helps the brain.
what is vo2?
It's something smart scientists can measure and write papers. For us it just means we must have a hard workout for many months to see a benefit.
the answer is above see: @kolassie

Why is it that athletes seem to not live that long, is there a limit as to how far you should push yourself physically?

Because they stop working out and become sedentary later in life
It’s because what we’re told is healthy and unhealthy to eat is backwards.
