    Stop fibrosis, corosis, liver damage
    Starts regeneration of liver
    1. Autophagy (Intermittent fasting, prolonged fasting, cold showers, sauna, infra red, exercise, sleep, ketones)
    2. Fasting - lowers inflammation, increases antioxidant networks & decrease lober enzymes
    3. Tudca - type of bile salt which thins the bile (unblockage bile ducts), protects liver cell. Take in AM and Afternoon on an empty stomach.
    4. Phase 1 & 2 detoxification - turn fat into water soluble, which turns toxic, then move the toxins out
    5. Milk thistle - protect liver, decrease inflammation, regenerate liver cells
    6. Tocotrienol - stand alone complex

I'm so glad you included milk thistle in your list. Both people and animals are prescribed this and you can readily buy it at any decent pharmacy. My pet bird was going to be put down due to severe enlarged liver, but as a last resort, she was prescribed milk thistle. I give her it every day, and she is thriving. Her liver has reduced in size and I can no longer feel that huge lump. It is repairing itself and has saved her life. Can't recommend milk thistle more highly. It's wonderful for people and animals and has been used by humans for thousands of years.

I’m witnessing fasting has a huge health benefit in addition to its spiritual rewards which I believe. As an Ethiopian orthodox follower we do practice fasting for 252 days within which 180 obligatory fasting days in different months of a year. We do fasting 15 hrs a day for 5 days a week and during this fasting we do not eat any animals and animal products of any kind; we eat vegetables and grains. So it helps a lot.

I really have learned so much from you Dr. Berg! I've had a Gastric bypass surgery 20 years ago and I did manage to lose
120 pounds and kept it off for several years. However I've gained almost all of it back over the past two years. I had done some fasting before along with taking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 tsp of cinnamon and two tablespoons of lemon mixed with water twice a day while fasting and the weight fell off. I had a full right hip replacement surgery last year and during the last two years it's been pretty rough and very scary for me because I'm almost positive I have a fatty liver. I'm going to start the fasting again tomorrow morning and take the apple cider vinegar with the other ingredients twice a day. I'm going to follow the 2 pm to 6 pm then in two weeks eat one meal a day along with the apple cider vinegar and other ingredients. Also consuming water throughout. Sorry for such a long message! But I just wanted you to know that I think you may have saved my life! God bless you! I'd like to get the Tudca and I'll also get some milk thistle as well. Thank you Dr. Berg . I'll message you in a month and let you know how I'm progressing. Thank you for helping all of us!

      Dear one,
I have reduced my 20 jg weight in five months, without keto and exercise. I have left all the processed food. No sugars and no junk foods. Honestly speaking no cheat days at all. I am also having hypothyroidism. My feasting window is four hours from 11 a m. to 3 p.m. I am lecturer of biology, so, I use to eat two boiled eggs with tea having little milk without sugar. Sometimes I eat fruit salad with no processed seasoning but I add salt and pepper for taste. Sometimes I eat kababs either of meat or meat+ lentils. Must thing is roti( wheat bread) with gravy either of meat or vegetable or lentils. I fast rest of 20 hours but just take plenty of water. Believe me no weakness, l feel fresh and look younger. IF is really a magical thing. Just you need to be determined and consistent.

My doc said she traced my lab results back over the last 6 times I’d had blood work done and she noticed that my liver enzymes or whatever they use to tell these sorts of things were getting higher each time. This is over the course of about a month. (I’ve had some problems in the last month lol) they told me they’d get me an appt with a gastroenterologist, but it’s not for another 4 months, so I’m kinda flying blind on this journey to better my liver and over all health. This video is pretty informative and I think I’ll be able to apply all of those things to my daily life quite easily.

Years ago I loosely followed a liver detox regimen that included using a hot or cold compress with a washcloth soaked in castor oil held against the belly over the liver for short periods daily. I think it was supposed to help release any backed up, clogged or stuck bile salts that were blocking the bile ducts. I forget all the details but I remember having to find the right oil and buying a rubber water bottle that could take hot or cold water for the compress.
Also olive oil, acv and lemon juice were supposed to help soften up any impacted bile, or something like that.

    • @allealexandra4486
      @allealexandra4486 Год назад

@jose cabrera i can't imagine an oil applied topically on the belly doing anything. I read in this paper once, that natural oils (it mentioned others than castor, but I'm betting it's similar) would only penetrate about 1.2 mm deep into the skin (basically epidermis and some dermis).
So i wouldn't worry about the type of oil, let alone the brand.

Thanks, Doc. My Mother’s liver cancer, once diagnosed, took her very quickly, and she basically exhibited little to no symptoms, even though she was also facing lung cancer, as well. I try to cover all the bases, when it comes to my own health, and pay particular attention to those health challenges that both my parents were facing at the ends of their lives. I also know how genetics can play a part in all our health challenges, so I pay particular attention to almost everything, and I guess I always have, anyway. Tudca is on my list, although spell check changed bile salt to bike salt, and you helped me today, as I wondered why the heck did I need bike salt for?…lmao, but now I know…lol, and have changed it back to bile…lol, but also, some of these things are rarely shelved ‘round here in the Plains, unless one ventures to the bigger cities….lol….or online, like your shop, and I don’t usually order online, but will sometimes have my son do it for me…lol, paying him because he does it all the time…lol. I’ll add some more to my list and cross it all off as I find it all along the way. Have a great weekend, Doc. 🌻

I started taking milk thistle around 2003.
From around 2008 until around 2011 I drank for effect on a nightly basis. As in, at least twelve beers a night, enough to get me warm and toasty and quite intoxicated. I had a regular regimen of supplements that I would take in order to minimize damage and speed up recovery. I had very mild hangovers.
I'm fairly certain that taking proactive measures to minimize or mitigate liver damage made a huge difference. I'm 53 and in relatively good health for someone who drank to excess recreationally and was a heavy smoker when he was younger. (I quit smoking about 7 or 8 years ago. Before that I would smoke two or three packs a day.)

Consider that a baseline healthy liver might best be considered when totally devoid of poisons and just allowed to get on with it's main functions. However ADF (ADF = Airport Duty Free perhaps?) or even AFDs will reduce the burden on the liver and allow it to recover somewhat, however better to imbibe other liquids more regularly than booze. I respectfully suggest that it will not compensate but just be less-bad. Happy Christmas. 🍷🍷🍷

It is so fascinating; I have NAFD due to cancer treatments (ribocyclib and letrozole and some jab that makes calcium attach to my bones), and sadly, milk thistle is out due to it acting like estrogen. But I altered my diet to be like a med/keto and removed the wine from it. I don't take any meds that I do not need. I have lost 7 lbs and was at the edge towards overweight on a BMI chart of 25 with only 2 kilos to go to be in a healthy range. I plan on getting closer to the lighter end and losing another 12-14 lbs would be ideal. I am careful with the exercise because my back will hurt if I overdo it where there are Mets. I plan on living and getting myself totally healthy, and I hope to reverse all my diagnoses, even stage 4, with fasting and healthy eating. Wish me luck, and thank you for the page. Love the videos.

Great advice, but if all this is too much to remember and cofusing - this is what I did: during my surgery I got fentanyl. I went in with a healthy liver and came out with a fatty liver; for a couple of months I drank 13 cups of organic carrot juice, breakfast to lunch 3pm. I ate only green and red vegetables, organic raw or steamed. As for vitamins - Curcumin for inflammation, milk thistle and vitamin D with broccolli pill Sulfuraphane to activate it. I also take A-E daily just bc I'm over 50. After 3pm I only drank spirulina water or green tea matcha from Japan not US made. It took me 6mo to clean up my liver. Remember people, if you eat meat and dairy and any packaged food - you are not detoxing you're toxing. Make a decision, health or illness. If you chose health the only way to live healthy is vegan organic 75%raw ( some steamed food some baked or boiled)

Allthough fasting is not part of the Traditional Chinese Medicins (TCM) 5 elements/collumns approach , i found that a diet based on TCM principles (kind of holistic regarding how it looks at the connections within the human body) while adding fasting, works really, really well.
The good thing about it is, that you can try it out and doodle around with it on your own at first, because there is quite a bit of information easy acessable (internet, books, cook books) regarding TCM (what type am i? what problems do i have? what should i avoid and what should i eat more of?) and IF you see progress based on that, you can go and see a specialist to get a diagnosis , eating plan and maybe special medicin/herbs you can't really openely get otherwise(or should not without knowing exactly what you are doing).
Kinda surprised that a channel like this one, has not put out anything regarding TCM by now, since it should be right up Bergs alley.

3:37 fasting for 48 hrs? That’s a really long time. I barely survive 24 hours. My hands start shaking by then. How do people fast for 48 hours or longer?

Power through. Make sure you don't have to drive or do anything important

That's wrong. I usually fast for 16 - 18 hours a day. For 4 weeks a year. You don't need more than that. But you could do more if it makes you feel better.

Watch Dr Berg's videos on ketogenic diet so that you can become more metabolically flexible before you start fasting. The fact that you start shaking means that your body has been relying on glucose as a fuel source and not on fat. That happens when your diet has been carbohydrate and sugar heavy.

    In April of 2020, I was almost giving up on losing weight (I weighed 313 pounds) and in my desperation, I typed into RUclips search;
    'Why Can't I Lose Weight?'
I discovered a Dr Berg video that explained how I needed to fix my fatty liver before I could lose weight. I learned about Keto and Intermittent Fasting during the first lock down and began following this new lifestyle change (it's not a fad diet) and ten months later, I had shed 103 pounds.
As far as I'm concerned, Keto and Fasting is the correct human way of eating and I'm still following this regime almost three years later.

All I will say, is keep up the great work for this planet. You’ve taken on a job that requires longevity for yourself, and that is courageous. Other heroes don’t have to live as long haha

Awesome as always, Doc! Your explanation of liver disease progression and its potential for regeneration offers hope while emphasizing the urgency of taking action.
The ten-year timeline from fatty liver to cirrhosis highlights the silent nature of liver damage, making early intervention crucial. Your focus on natural interventions, particularly autophagy through fasting and supporting liver detoxification pathways, aligns with current research on liver healing.

Dr. Berg, Would taking milk thistle extract instead of milk thistle supplement pills be a faster more efficient way of getting it into the blood? How much should we be taking daily to remove fat from the liver?

Hello Dr. Berg - Thanks so much for the informative video. I have stage 3 liver cirrhosis and would greatly appreciate your help. What would be the doses for the 3 supplements you suggest? As in mg, amount per day, what time of day, etc. Thanks so much, I hope to be able to write back and talk of my progress. Also a little off topic, but I have lost almost all my muscle mass and my doctors honestly aren't really giving me a straight answer on how to build them back up. Again, I appreciate the videos and hopefully some good advise!
