- Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris is a unique version of the Haunted Mansion that is found in the US and Japanese parks. This version of the ride has a much darker storyline.
This was filmed back in October 2017, so it was before the new refurbishments were put in place. It turns out I still have a lot of old unpublished footage. Be on the look out for more old footage sprinkled in with the new ones.

I love this version more…it adds a bit more emotion and depth to this ride. I like the current one but this one is my favorite.

Thank you John, for capturing my new favorite video of the original Phantom Manor ! Especially seeing the "Corpse Phantom" Animatronic for so long makes it special ! I am still heartbroken that I never saw the original, in my opinion, way better version... But at least I got this awesome onride. 🤩
I have always thought this version was more sinister than the US versions. It was great. I haven't had a chance to ride since it's lengthy refurb recently but have seen it some POVs and it looks good.
I do not miss the older phantom animatronic 😅 (at the end)

I think overall, the ride looks better now. But I miss the simplicity of the storyline. I think it’s a bit convoluted now with all the suitors.
It was maybe more simple, but nobody else than fans could undertand it.
@@adrienthomann2216 I think they definitely clarified the Phantom’s identity and the nature of Melanie’s relationship with her father. I certainly can get behind that. But even as a fan, I have questions that I didn’t before. Like, did the Phantom kill the suitors? The stretch room portraits depict them dying in ridiculous situations that seem out of the realm of murder. Also, who is the groom for which Melanie is pining? One of the suitors? An absent character?
I really can't wait to ride this!
