Ohhh yeaahhh.
They didn't have to go this far. How easy would it have been to just make another copy of the HM and put it here. But man they went the extra mile and created an entirely unique ride, yet with clear connections to its origins. Heck, the entire area is connected and making Thunder Mountain part of the lore is just hardcore.
To me, Phantom Manor feels like the edgy big brother to Haunted Mansion, even tho HM is older of course. HM is fun, silly and scary. PM is dark, gothic and macabre. It's very hard to compare the two. PM will always be my true love but I'm extremely bias here since it's what I was introduced to first.
I'd say the better version and most scarier haunted mansion than WDW and California combined
If it closes down permanently in the future because it’s way too scary for younger riders like Kids, I say a better replacement should be the CBJ.
They change the haunted mansion a little bit based on location. The scary components are inspired by what it considered scary to each region and culture
@@christophermichaelclarence6003 The Haunted Mansion is probably my second favorite ride of all time (just behind Universal's Spider-Man ride) but I think the Phantom Manor is superior, though I've never been on it. The story isn't all over the place, and it actually has main characters who impact what's going on. In the Haunted Mansion, they push as if the Hitchhiking ghosts, Madam Leota, and Anne Hatchaway are the main characters...but they aren't really and there's no story that connects them all.
I heard each park's Haunted Mansion story is unique to the country, and France loves horror so it's particularly scary compared to Disney World. Loved it!
Definitely a creepier take on the HM. I like how you travel through the haunted Thunder Mesa town tying the story of the entire land together. Didn't realize how loud Big Thunder's lift hill is..lol Another great vid 4K.
Yes, I really love the storyline for this attraction and how their BTM/Thunder Mesa is a big part of the experience! Thank you so much as always Andrew😃
Okkay.
@@4KWDW To put in simply. The Whole Frontierland is connected with the backstory of Phantom Manor which is awesome.
The Owner of Mansion is the same person who runs Big Thunder Mountain
Takes In the Far West
The Vincent Price laughter and narration really gives it the edge over the American versions.
No, not necessarily. There is nothing wrong with the original Haunted Mansion. You're just using this as some dopey opportunity to rag on America and Americans. Grow up! You should be freaking ashamed of yourself running around with that mess knowing full well that it is because of America that you have this attraction. Put your bigotry and stupidity in check! Oh and VINCENT PRICE WAS ALSO AMERICAN.
This, this is how all theme parks should be making their rides. The attention to detail and utter escapism is just incredible. Something that a lot of theme parks (especially those in the UK) miss out on
No immersive parks in the UK?
@@TheIndependentLens Urm there’s a few rides that are ok at places like Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington e.t.c but nothing is even close to how Disney do things
Excellent video. As much as I love Haunted Mansion in WDW, this will always be my favourite version. The setting of the Manor house up on Boot Hill just makes it a little more creepy for me. It is even better at night. Thankyou for these amazing videos.
I completely agree! Before riding it, I truly didn’t think that I would like this ride more than the Haunted Mansion but that’s exactly what happened lol. And riding it at night definitely makes the experience better! Thanks so much for always watching 😃
😊😊😊😊😊😊
Having the manor on top of a hill, none the less it’s design is very psycho
I always believe the phantom manor is a better take of the haunted mansion, especially the grim but alluring dialogue of the late but great Vincent Price, as the phantom manor's own ghost host. I do miss the original animatronic of the phantom near the end of the ride, way more creepier.
I prefer the original Phantom Manor storyline. It was so much more romantically tragic. And Melanie helps you escape the Phantom....or did she? This newer version, doesn't have the same allure.
I agree with you on that one too
This attraction which is only located in Disneyland Paris rocks big time. Melanie is beautiful, but it's so sad that she and Jake aren't together forever. Her dad, Henry killed him and hung Melanie's husband/boyfriend in the attic which can be seen with theater scrim. I apologize for spoiling the magic and fantasy for you on behalf of your video uploading progress. 🎉It definitely needed plenty of refurbishment in the past.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaahhh.
Wow the French language really makes the ride more creepy and cool
Yes I agree!
Real.
Yeah I agree they make there Phantom manor a lot scarer then California and Florida haunted mansion in disneyland and disney world
Now THAT'S a Haunted Mansion!!!
Really awesome you captured The Phantom Manor. Tony Baxter said due to different languages of guests visiting, if they were to have it as the regular haunted mansion, it would have gotten lost in translation hence having it overtly haunted looking. I actually love DLPs version and the aesthetic is just awe inspiring. Really glad you liked it! 😀✨
Yes, I fell in love with this ride almost immediately! The whole storyline is so interesting and the way they tied in Big Thunder Mountain is really cool too. As much as I love the Haunted Mansion, I’d easily take Phantom Manor over it in a heartbeat lol(can’t believe I’m saying this lol) . Thanks so much as always!
Hehehe you got it all right. Tony Baxter actually wanted to built a better version of Haunted Mansion and more scarier of it.
What's even more cooler, The Whole Frontierland which called Thunder Mesa is connected with the backstory of Phantom Manor. Even the Big Thunder Mountain.
And I'm sure you had noticed that, our French Phantom Manor is the only Haunted Mansion in all Disney Parks
where you walk in through the Front Door and the only that has a creepy cementary instead of beautiful yard
Eitheir way thank for appreciating our Phantom Manor
Call me a purist... but I still kinda prefer the older version before all the changes. XD Sorry about that. This ride is still amazing.
💀Sweet! The creepy night version! Great zooms on my Phantom! (Geez, Hatbox vs. Phantom- WDW-nothing- lol) A whole podcast could be about this ride. It's weirdly tucked away & a walk on most times, but just ☺wow! Do you think it would be better if her gown was aged and not the bright white it is? - thoughts? Also, you have to pull the lap bar down unlike WDW or be reprimanded if not done quickly🙄🙄 FYI (luv, luv that BTM -sorry, I digress but it's right there!!!) Awesome 4!🎩🖤💜
So glad you enjoyed it Liz! Filming the Phantom was so fun for me. I’d do anything to have this ride here at the Magic Kingdom! I do agree and think giving her a messed up dress would be more appropriate. Haha yes I noticed the cast members there are pretty intense with the weirdest stuff. They kept telling us to put our bags on the floor of the Doom Buggy, as if we’re on a roller coaster and the bag could fly out of the vehicle or something lol. That was strange for sure. Thank you so much as always 😃
Simmmmm.
Definitely a more sinister version, I like it! I am really enjoying seeing DLP. I never thought much about it but your videos are really piquing my interest in it! That pathway at the end next to Big Thunder was really pretty. Thanks for another great one!
Yes, this ride is definitely creepier than the Haunted Mansion! I went on it over 20 times and I’m pretty sure I almost never saw anyone under like 10 years old ride it lol. BTM there is also insane! It’s much better than the Magic Kingdom/Disneyland versions for me by far! Thank you so much as always 😃
I love i me yep well okk.
This is fantastic! As a huge Haunted Mansion fan, I really enjoyed seeing the Disneyland Paris version. And I loved it! The details are amazing! Thanks so much for bringing Paris to us! Not sure if we will ever get there, but who knows👻
It’s my pleasure! I hope you’ll be able to visit Disneyland Paris one day! I never thought I’d like this ride more than our Haunted Mansion but after riding it over 20 times, I’m confident when I say that I genuinely like and enjoy it more! Thanks so much as always 😃
Ahhhh yeaahhhh?
I agreed with you on that
The 2019 refurbishment of Phantom Manor shows that Disney can still get it right sometimes
They messed up making Melanie sound like a freaking villain at the end during the mirror scene. I absolutely HATE it. She’s supposed to be tragic, not menacing.
@@HauntFreak13why does she sound like a villain?
@@katelynevans8100 I’d say it’s the devious and wicked laugh during the mirror section
@@HauntFreak13 ohh gotcha 😂 I just didn’t get the full story because I don’t understand French but now I looked up the changes they made and I agree I prefer the tragic bride compared to the new one
That sky behind Big Thunder at 2:32, what a view!
instead of another HM movie, they should’ve made this one a movie. complete storyline, not just you going through a mansion. and yes, PM is way less known then HM, which means it could still have the same effect of the viewers
Best part of being on a team representing Eurodisney in an arbitration re construction disputes was the chance to go on a site visit and since we were concentrating on Frontier land. , of course went to Phantom Manor: wonderful can’t won’t reveal any trade secrets about how everything was wonderful to see the finished product works having spent time with design drawings , contracts 😅and change orders and inter viewing l individuals involved in the construction was a wonderful experience 👍
Great to see all the similarities and differences between our beloved Haunted Mansion ride! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it Ken! It’s weird how this ride and our Haunted Mansion are both similar and so different at the same time lol. Thanks so much as always!
Okkkk
Ookkkay.
@@4KWDW Nah. I'd say it's a bit different. Besides the Ballroom and Dark corridor
@@4KWDW Also the music of Phantom Manor is FANTASTIC, made by John Debney (Hocus Pocus, The Jungle Book) did a good job remixed the classic HM themes with the new Ghost Bride singing and Vincent Price laughing as the Phantom himself
4K, you never disappoint!!! WOW! Such a great capture of this attraction, especially the extra close shots at the end (the Phantom is even more terrifying up close!!) I hope some day to see this in person! I love the Haunted Mansion and hope over time, someday, to visit all versions (HM, PM, MM) The added touches in this one for the defined story make it so much more than the HM that so many of us are accustomed to visiting…and Vincent Price on the English narrations just adds more (in my opinion…though I do still love the Paul Frees version). More in your video than others I have seen, you have captured so many “nods” back to the attractions that inspired this version at DLP! C’est Magnifique!!
I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed it! I rode this over 20 times I think, and put together the best footage I got on those rides. I really didn’t think that I would like this ride more than the Haunted Mansion but that’s exactly what happened lol. Of course I’ll forever love HM though lol, but this ride is just really different and special. Thank you so much as always! 😃
Uh ookk.
YES! Especially at 10:14!
I will never understand Henry Ravenswood as a character. I mean, I understand the overprotective father character, but everything else, I don’t get. Even as the phantom he is laughing for no particular reason other than ‘I’m the villain so this is my evil laugh’. What did he have to gain by keeping Melonie in his sights at all times?
Very nice! Thank you. I'm so glad you went to Paris and share with us.
It’s my pleasure as always Linda! Thank you so much 😃
😀😃😃😄😁😁😁😁😆😆😆😆😆🙃🙂🙂🙂😇😇😊😊😌😌😗
13:15 i vividly remember there being a bride doll with a (kinda) detached head behind the bars, right in the center. I could not sleep that night as a kid, after seeing it. Does anyone remember this as well?
Yes, it was our version of Little Leota. Unfortunately they removed her with the refurbishment. It's odd because you can still hear her dialogue playing.
As an Arizona resident I can confirm there is very much a cursed mansion somehow standing after 160 years in this state
Did anyone else see Dreamfinder in the ride?
had to check this out after so many people have said how close the new Curse at Alton Manor is to this
Love the channel and we need a face reveal
yup to the first, nah to the second. Unnecessary
@@Liz.R yeah
Thanks so much but haha yea there definitely won’t be a face reveal from me or the others who help with the channel!
Can you imagine if Phantom Manor would have the nightmare before christmas holiday theme?
When I first heard about DLP's version of "The Haunted Mansion" (Phantom Manor) and "reading" the backstory (to it's furthest it can go) for that same attraction, Phantom Manor had one of the most "mysterious" and interesting stories ever.
Regarding it's original and new versions, I enjoyed the original version (1992-2018) more for the sake of primarily the scarriness. Don't get me wrong, the new version (2019-present) I enjoyed as well, but something didn't get me as interested as I used to (don't know what it is, maybe a little less dramatic than the original).
Fun fact: I already figured out that Henry Ravenswood was the Phantom before the new version even began it's development (it took me a little "puzzling-in-the-brain" to figure that out), despite that it was still unknown on who really is "The Phantom" from the Disney company's angle.
Overall, Phantom Manor is a "must-do" every time I visit DLP. Especially to have a little extra fun "acting-narrating along" with the narration.😊 Have a magical one!🌟
I completely agree Kev! I read the story behind this attraction a while back and was very intrigued by it! I avoided watching videos of it, just so I can see it all for the first time myself and I absolutely loved it all! I was surprised that I actually like it more than the Haunted Mansion here at WDW and Disneyland. Thanks for watching as always! 😃
Yesssss.
The foreign versions of HM and Pirates are far superior to US attractions
This is a nice house gotta say
This should have been what the newest movie should be about…. Scary take on a classic ride….. don’t need another comedy of this movie
I liked this one a lot. Its lore seemed more focused and darker. Cool.
That was a lot of fun 😊. The lighting and the views of the park are really awesome. The more of these Disneyland Paris videos I see, the more determined I am to visit one day
Glad you enjoyed it Mike! If you do decide to go to DLP one day, you won’t regret it! The experience there is a lot different than the USA parks, but that’s mostly a good thing in my opinion . Thanks so much as always 😃
Yeaahhhhh?
Thanks for sharing! It is fun to look for both similarities as well as differences between the overseas version and US versions. Hope you have/had a good trip to France!
It’s my pleasure! Yes, I truly did have a fantastic time and I already miss it so much! Thank you so much 😃
And I’m back…lol
Hope you didn’t get caught in that rain Sunday afternoon. After I left you I felt really bad. Until my trip next yr.
But on a video note, it’s cool we get to see the other parks. Hope you had fun there.
Now let’s get you too 100K!
Glad your home safe - Hope the rest of the time was enjoyable & I hope you post more videos yourself! You did a nice job considering baseball is your element. Rainwise- living in FL makes you rain repellent, that why he forgets/doesn't carry an umbrella. lol
@@Liz.R Baseball is a while different animal, especially live streaming. Gives you an appreciation for what he does on this channel. I would love to do more, but for now I can only make it down once a year. Learned a Few tricks while I was there in regards to videos.
I was well prepared for the rain, it is Florida after all. But that day we met they shut down the monorail almost immediately for lightning.
No worries at all Craig! It was great meeting and speaking with you! What’s funny is I literally almost never bring an umbrella, but I did on that day thankfully! I also ended up getting some really cool footage of the storm and crazy thunder, so it all kind of worked out nicely! Thanks so much as always 😃
Thanks for capturing so much detail!
No problem at all! Thank you for watching 😃
Ohhh yeeahhh.
I'm curious when the video was actually taken? The place doesn't look too busy so that would be the perfect time to plan a trip there.
This was all filmed during the week of August 21st - 26th 2022. This ride in particular was a walk on almost all day long when I was there
while I'm a Fan of the Haunted Mansion At Disneyland in California. after all I grew up and lived in California for 40 years.......The Phantom Manor is great love the story behind it including other area's of the park.
8:52 Classic pause at Leota's, I guess it happens everywhere. 🤷 This version seems very interesting, the French definitely have good taste. Disney could have made a HM copy, but they didn't, and they gave us an interesting storyline, which I have found out was the original storyline idea for HM. It's funny how there's a completely friendly, cute and silly version of HM in Hong Kong, and a scary, macabre and almost gothic version in France.
0:48 - now that sounds familiar. this is the same music box you can hear outside of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion Holiday.
Merci Beaucoup monsieur--very well done. Interesting how much the mansion here resembles the Bates house from Psycho. Not a dead ringer, but very close.
Thank you so much! That’s very true, it does look very similar to the Bates house!
Hi 4K.
It is interesting to see the differences between Phamtom Manor and Haunted Mansion.
And.... your excellent filming and production skills made that possible.
Unlike Pirates, I don't have a favorite at this point. What do you think?
Also, I was impressed and happy to see not many folks there.
Thanks, and God Bless!
Thank you so much as always Ken! I truly enjoyed Phantom Manor so much that I can say that I like it more than Haunted Mansion! But both are amazing attractions in their own way
Ookkkkk.
Do you know the phantom manor have a lore than the haunted mansion?
The phantom can still be seen watching over boot hill cemetery 15:25
Oh gosh…always have just one more thought after I post…What would a ride through a Haunted Mansion be without a delay from prankish spirits?? 😁
Hahaha yep, I always seem to get a delay in at some point!!
Ooooooooohh ooook.
Honestly I didn't know that this ride existed until this video😂but its really cool since they have a lot of the haunted mansion scenes like the stretching room and ballroom and graveyard scenes and madam leota but with their own twist to it.
Haha yes, there are many similarities between this and our Haunted Mansion! The Imagineers did such a great job making this unique for the French, as well as mixing in our Haunted Mansion into it. The storyline is the biggest difference with the Phantom being the main guy and the bride isn’t a killer lol. If you look up the story, it’s actually a pretty disturbing/depressing one lol. Thanks for watching as always Kymberly!

YIKES!!! .... spooky....😗
Are there any jump scares during the Phantom Manor ride?
The BEST footage I've seen of this fabulous ride!! Great fun, 4k!! 👍👍
Thank you so much Kendall! I’m so glad I was able to experience this ride. It’s now one of my all time favorites!

One of my favorites too! I love how uniquely different Paris attractions are. They never cease to amaze me!!🗼💖
Is this an actual ride as just looked like you walked through it? Coming in November and never been.
@@BrokenFairytalexo
Yes, this is a dark ride, similar to the other Haunted Mansion rides, but with Paris's own unique style, and storyline. At the entrance to the Manor you walk into a room, but then it becomes a ride. This is the BEST VIDEO of this ride!!👍
@@BrokenFairytalexo
Also, the redhead bride is Melanie, and the Phantom is her father, whom killed her husband. And Melanie is trapped forever in the Manor.
really prefer the old ver of the phantom manor
I love creepy things and I really want to see phantom manor
So cool!
You were at Disneyland Paris?

I don't like this. This version of the Haunted Mansion concept is probably the worst of the 3.

Cool
😭
Wow. That ride is so strange compared to our Haunted Mansion. 👻 Way too dark and scary for Americans lol.
Haha yes definitely! I liked this ride so much that I genuinely enjoy it more than our Haunted Mansion, but overall I think most guests might not feel the same way
Yeeaahhh.
Merci beaucoup pour cette visite.
My house is haunted in real life, two ghosts and one Poltergiest. This ride in my opinion illustrates that you never really get used to being haunted as it is surreal and macabre and this version of the ride conveys that by being surreal and macabre itself.
