There are a lot of familiar scenes in this version of the Haunted Mansion but it's also so different! Which version is your favorite? Disneyland CA, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo or WDW? Let us know!

    Love that the Japanese version is pretty much the OG ride before all the refurbs and such. The only downside is no Hatbox Ghost and Floating Leota. But its still cool to see the original ride be kept very much to how it used to be in Disneyland and Disney World. That and the paint job/lighting is much more impressive and vivid in Tokyo Disney. One of the reasons why I will always love Japan with the dark rides there.

      No wonder this gave me a very oldie feeling, like if they havent made any renovations since the 60's. And I gotta say, in certain ways is creepier than the ones in the USA.

      I think most people would rather have the original stationary Leota and no hatbox ghost in exchange for everything left untouched.

      Actually, Tokyo’s and MK’s Mansions were carbon copies before the latter was refurbished in 2007. DL’s Mansion does not have the Sinister 11 Portraits, a library, or a music room, but in the late 90s the invisible piano player was added to the Attic.

      That's because this footage was taken during the haunted mansion story beyond event. Guests can participate in a challenge that involves looking for pages that fell out from a ghost book. The additional props and differing details were removed right after the event. The protruding face portrait you mentioned is a regular effect on the vanilla ride, not part of story beyond.

    I have the greatest memory of this ride. My mom and I went on it together, and the seats were so small. We were squished in together...really squized I wasnt able to sit down all the way. And the funniest part, the lap bar/door didn't close. We rode the whole ride laughing and trying to hang on to the door. I was hilarious when we started slowly going downwards and the door was coming open, and I was sticking halfway out. I guess because the people are smaller in Japan the seats are not so spacious for two 6 feet tall americans 😂

    I’m just gonna say it.
    This is my favorite version of the Haunted Mansion.
    That extra budget from the Oriental Land Company just makes the ride feel much more impressive to me. The lighting is better, the animatronics feel more animated, and it just feels much higher quality than the ones in America.
    If they were to add the Hatbox Ghost into the attic, then it would be perfect.

    The scenery of The Haunted Mansion in Tokyo Disneyland is exactly the same as Disneyland (e.g. The Stretching Room, Ballroom and Seance along with the Cemetery and the Crypt, of course) and The Magic Kingdom (e.g. Music Room, Portrait Corridor, etc.) even though there's one little problem with it. I don't speak Japanese at all. Thank god that there's some English spoken as seen in the seance where Madame Leota appears on the scariest dark ride ever.

    • @KitsuneRisu00

      In the California Haunted Mansion (1969), the stretching room is actually a lift. This is because of how the park is built. The show building is actually AWAY from the entrance, and you have to pass UNDERGROUND via a walkway to get to the loading area. The stretching room hides an actual elevator that takes you down. This walkway has the changing portraits and other things to look at. When the Haunted Mansion in Florida was built following Anaheim in 1971, they didn't need this, so the stretching room is just a room, and when it opens it deposits you right at the loading bay. Because of this, the elements from the walk-through portion were moved to be part of the ride itself - namely, the portrait hallway and the library which acts as a corner into other scenes. The ride ascent into the second floor also comes later VS the California version. Japan pretty much took the plans wholesale from the Florida version, but as of now, they have NOT updated ride elements to match, which is why the Florida one has some updated scenes and tech. You will also note that 'little Leota' at the end is also moved from beside the travellator up to above the exit gate in the Japan/Florida versions.

    • @KitsuneRisu00
      @KitsuneRisu00 Год назад +6

      @@yesnt8941 Incorrect. California's Haunted Mansion opened in 1969 and Florida's opened in 1971. In addition, The Magic Kingdom in Anaheim California opened wholly in 1955, whereas Florida was also 1971 with the Haunted Mansion as an opening day attraction.
