As French. I've ridden this ride (the 1992 version) many many times since I was kid since the 10th Anniversary of DLP. The Original was much scarier and crrepuer than the 2019 one. Especially it was piched dark inside
All we need now is for Guillermo Del Toro to adapt this into a movie since his Haunted Mansion reboot fell through (the 2023 remake was actually pretty good in my opinion saw it 3 times)
This is our French Phantom Manor overlooking the Whole Frontierland which is Thunder Mesa. For info, The Ghost Host is voiced by Vincent Price Tony Baxter, the famed Disney Imagineer made sure Phantom Manor is the best looking Haunted Mansion. More scarier than the Anaheim one. Also the California one Here's a cool fact, the whole Frontierland is linked to the Backstory of Phantom Manor. Not to mention the owner of Big Thunder Mountain is the same person who owns the Mansion
The thing about phantom Manor is it understood the assignment. It got the pathos of a love that was never to be and vengeance and the dark Victorian themes that were implicit in the ride. The haunted Mansion got the ball rolling but phantom Manor did it properly.
