They would have been such a cool enemy type! I really love how they move and use the enviroment to there adventage, just like the other combine units. And they are so much more unique from the others. I wonder why they got cut out, I have ideas why, but I won't showcase them. Other then that, there glow is really cool too!:D

Didn’t stick the final landing. I gotta say that’s a lot of flips. I know there’s combine augmentation involved but, that must take a lot of stamina to leap and flip at those speeds and heights. They’re something else

The only changes I can think of are making them less spongy, but they’d also be more common to balance this out. The other change is to have them use a rifle type weapon at long range. When they’re at long range they’d largely stay in one spot. But, they’d then start jumping around the place if you get too close. That would make their fights feel more dynamic, and interesting. I’m really disappointed that all of these cool enemies were cut from the game. I can understand a bunch of the weapons because they were largely redundant. But, the different enemies gave the game some much needed variety.
Makes me wonder what both half lifes could have been with a few more months on development. (Half life smell and stealth system) (Half of half life 2 feels unfinished, near perfection, yet unfinished).
I think they'd fare pretty well on that sewer section just after Alyx gets kidnapped; the one that properly introduces the elites in combat for the first time.
I think it’s because valve didn’t want HL2 to feel like HL1. Bringing back such a unique enemy from HL1 would cause people to compare the combine to the US military, which doesn’t make any sense. The only logical conclusion for players is that “Valve must have been lazy and copied this enemy from HL1”
@@-caesarian-6078 That sounds kinda reasonable, but still, this Overwatch army felt even weaker than the US military haha, much less weapon diversity. HECU had mortars, cannons, heavy mgs, those missile launchers in 'On a rail' and those double semiauto cannons in the bunkers
@@manofiron675 Lore-wise yeah but gameplay-wise not so much. in Half life 2 you can meet soldiers with smgs and they cant even shoot grenades from their guns like the hecu guys could(Yeah, Elite ones can shoot balls, but that's the only unique thing Elites do and it isn't as dangerous) There are also Shotgun soldiers, pulse rifle soldiers, snipers. You can find some soldiers on machineguns and there are gunships as enemies and striders. As I said in HL1s gameplay you could find much more weapons that are being used by HECU against you that can then be used by you after
