@@fashionablyfrancie5348 It could be a number of things. One thing you can be sure of is at 37 years female hormones change radically, not sure if it is relevant but putting it out there. In any case after being long term on oral contraceptives messes with your own hormones and it takes time to resolve.
Overall you're right in that thyroid disorder is in the top 5 undiagnosed conditions. It's variable and hard to detect and doctors tend to trivialise the symptoms.
As a solid protective move I'd go off coffee and caffeinated drinks and off alcohol. the latter is a depressant. Then you can gradually eliminate causes. But those stimulate the nervous system and if you get anxiety it's murder.

We need more openness like this on the Internet. 👏🏼 Life isn't just sequins & champagne & laughter 24x7x365. I absolutely don't think you're unhinged or insane, you're adjusting after a major hormonal change and it'll take time to settle. It's easy to say just try and ride it out, but the best you can do is to be kind to yourself throughout this adjustment process. Sending hugs 💕

Caitlin, I am so sorry you are experiencing all this. You will get through this. I have been experiencing dreadful anxiety as well lately. I think mine is being caused by the loss of quite a few close family members within a brief period of time and the idea of life being so fragile and short. BTW, I read The Happiness Project and found it helpful. I finished baby books of my four sons because of that book, they are only 35 years old!😀 I was ecstatic to see you were back on YT tonight and I said to my husband I have to go and watch my favorite YT gal tonight. Praying for you! 🫶🏻x

You are helping a lot of people here by posting this. Knowing someone else is going through the same thing provides so much relief. Anxiety is different than feeling nervous (which we all do from time to time, usually about something specific). Anxiety is so very physical. The best description I could tell others is feeling intensely uncomfortable in your own body/skin, and feeling like you have lost your old self and your ability to feel good (and being anxious that you will never get it back). I really feel like there is a hormonal component to female anxiety, but doctors here in the US rarely address or explore the issue. Remember that no matter how painful the anxiety is at the moment, a better day is around the corner. Keep pushing on to find things that help (medication, therapy, etc ). What works is different for everyone.

    I also want to add:
I’ve always been a chill person.
But- when I became pregnant, I could have a panic attack for NO reason.
Hormones can be really crazy. And taking your body off of birth control after 10 years can cause some huge shifts.
You are a rational, intelligent human being. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is just your body, trying to find a natural flow after a HUGE change. That can cause some disruption.
Don’t freak out about freaking out. You’re okay. ❤❤

You're super sweet to update us on what is evidently a trying time for you. I am in full agreement, it really is brain chemistry from readjusting without the birth control combined with moving from your twenties to your next decade. Your body does decide to do abnormal things and it can go on for months and even half a year or more, but it subsides and comes in waves. Your appetite will change, weight will fluctuate, skin will break out and become baby smooth again. It has a mind of its own, and know this is only a temporary phase. It will pass, and the old Caitlin will be back I promise! The better news is that usually a woman's skin gets better, and you'll have less break outs too! What a relief for us make up lovers! :D
Know it's just your body, and that you're not going crazy. Truly! We always love your content, and appreciate your effort in continuing your channel! Much love 💝

Hang on in there. My assumption (not an urologist) that your hormones need to stabilise for your body to get into a rhythm. When I tried BC it took 6m to get back my stability and that was only a 60 day stint so I imagine that a longer period might take longer. Happy to chat if you need anyone 🙌🏻💜

Hi Caitlin! Thank you for sharing these feelings, I think it’s so important that we put them always out there for the people that feel alone in this. It’s important to know that this is actually normal, there is nothing wrong with you and I’m very proud of you for going off the pill, that’s a very difficult decision but, trust me, that’s the best thing you could do for yourself. It’s very difficult for your system to go back to a self regulating pace after being on a hormone pill for a long time so just be patient with your body and understand what it’s going through. Be sure that we understand exactly what you’re going through and be thankful for the effort your body goes through to protect you. It will pass soon, I promise 🤞🏼❤️

Caitlin, it is brave of you to be so open and vulnerable-I haven’t read other comments, wanted to share my first thought. If your anxiety continues, you and your therapist should consider medication. I know you are trying to go without meds, (your decision to stop birth control pills as an example) but there are no prizes awarded for taking no meds. The probably over used example of a diabetic needing insulin and the idea that everyone accepts the med as needed could apply to you. Carefully monitored medication can change your life in a positive direction. I urge you and your therapist to consider it, and you do not owe your you tube followers an admission or an explanation!!!

I am so sorry for you. I know what you are going through. I had a HUGE issue back in 2002. It was so hard to do anything. I wasn't scared about any one thing I was just anxious. Period. Morning, Noon and night. It never went away. I so didn't want to take medication. Then, a doctor told me...trying these extra things..meditating, book reading, momentary drugs, like xanax. That these are all like life preserves...they keep you above the water, but they don't reel you in. I started to take something and I started to work full time (I had been a stay at home mom and/or worked part time). It went away. I went off the pill, it came back, went on the pill and it went away. I have to say not to be afraid of the drugs I was SO scared to try them. I won't even take tylenol and things like that. I was terrified to try anything. However, that one little pill saved my life....truly. The doctors I have worked with state this kind of anxiety is generally chemical and so trying to find a med really has helped It is literally one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Good luck with you. I know the struggle is second by second. Also...on a good note. There is a quote by Harper Lee that I adore it is: "She was powerful, not because she wasn't scared, but because she went on, despite the Fear". That has always resonated with me. People don't know how hard things can be when you are anxious. However, it takes so much strength. You are more powerful than you know...

I honestly think there is a hormonal component to it as I suspect I'm going into perimenopause in my late thirties. I was the same as you - always had anxiety but it was manageable and about real life stuff. Now it's just anxiety about anxiety! Don't worry - you aren't going insane- that is one of the most common anxiety fears! I think it is #1 or #2. If you enjoy podcasts I highly recommend the Panic Room and The Anxious Truth - they have made me feel much less alone. I also found the anxiety app DARE (and the book) very helpful. People who say: "Just don't worry. Choose happiness!" Literally have no idea they're talking about.
Anxiety is a liar and lies to us every single day. Anxiety likes to cry wolf and hates being ignored. It manifests in so many different ways for everyone and you're right-it's a vicious cycle of worrying about worrying.
Instead of asking myself: "Why is this happening to me?!" I take a breath and ask myself: "Why is this happening?" Then, I follow the thread. I try to trace the feelings back to their source to break the anxiety down into more manageable parts.
You're being vigilant and proactive, and everything you're doing is helpful! You got this. Keep going.💕

Hormones are a very tricky business I tell you for us ladies but everytime I felt I was going that route of anxiety, depression and extreme anger( irritability) I focused on exercise and meditation . In the 80s, when I was your age, I had the same exact feelings. Back then, I didn’t have a therapist or even know about the drugs that could help. Anxiety wasn’t even a thing.
Take advantage of the medications that can help you. It doesn’t have to be permanent.

Your not going insane. Please seek out a psychologist/psychiatrist if you have to. Please please don’t be hard on yourself. Be kind to yourself and there is always a reason for the way you are feeling. Rule out medical stuff and then try to figure out underlying issues that come out in weird ways. We are all here for you xo

This is probably very helpful to a lot of people going through this who is feeling so isolated right now. I experienced extreme anxiety attacks more than five years ago and feeling so disconnected and isolated because no one seems to understand exactly how I was feeling. Praying you get through this soon.

Several years ago I started getting migraine headaches. The headaches were debilitating to say the least and I was living in fear of the next one which in itself would bring on a headache. So I can relate to your experience of being anxious about your anxiety- I would get migraines worrying about a migraine. I am taking meds but I still have to see specialists about the cause of the headaches.
It took me about 9 months to fully adjust after going off the pill but I wasn’t suffering as you are. I hope that the tests will shine some light on what’s going on. Please know we are always thinking of you even if we don’t hear from you in awhile and some of us know exactly what you mean when you describe anxiety.

Hi hon, I think there are three things you need to research on RUclips. You may have the severe form of PMT which is PMDD. There are many women who go through it and it is so severe before periods. However, I think some women have managed to somewhat control it through natural treatments. I find that hormones are virtually impossible to control BUT I also don't think I have considered all the options. There is an app to monitor PMDD symptoms and it produces a graph at the end of the month so you can see when your symptoms get better or worse. That way, you can structure your life around it because you'll be able to predict how you might feel during a month. I know it's not nice to have to do that but it's better than suffering. Use those days to self-care instead and completely rest. You'll thank yourself for it. Read the reviews before downloading any PMDD app.
Also look up perimenopause. As women's bodies change so do our symptoms.
Another thing to look up is narcissistic abuse. I know you may not be keen to look this one up but it actually takes you out of your insanity. Look at the people you're surrounding yourself with and who you interact with everyday. Whether you realise it or not, they could be toxic and adding to your feelings of insanity so definitely look up this type of abuse. Know how to protect not just your body but also your mind. I hope all this helps. Sending you a big hug. 🤗
    ❤️❤️❤️

Hi babe, hugs. You are not alone. Ive experienced the same thing when I was in my early thirties. Like you, I went and got everything tested. It felt miserable that I couldn't find anything wrong. Meditation really helps but in the end what got me through was just accepting how I felt everyday. I didn't rush my body or mind to feel better. If today I felt like crap, I'd just stay home and meditate or stay in bed whatever it took. of course I still had to get out of bed to work and such but when it wasn't mandatory, I'd just do whatever I felt like. Gradually with time it went away by itself. Nature walks really helped. It took months if not almost a year or two. I forget now but at the time it felt all consuming. Just know the light is at the end of the tunnel. Listening to philosophy podcasts also helped greatly.

15 years ago when I take the first time birth control pill, I go through the same anxiety trouble and thought to become crazy. Hormones have a large influence on our mind. I can tell you, that you won't become crazy. During this time it helped me to know, that its always my life and at the end I always decide by my own. I stopped then taking the pille and take another one- this helped too. Few years ago I stopped completely birth control by pille and had a short struggle. Today I am fine and have no anxiety anymore- just the normal craziness. You will do it also 🍀 and you are not alone with your struggles.

Thank you for sharing your difficult experience. You are not going insane. Hormones unfortunately can make you feel like you do. I came to your channel for some info about piercing and stayed for your personality! For the past month, I’ve been checking your channel every day and trying to watch your older videos to pass the time. I’m staying 😊 Pills never worked for me, I was putting on weight or having periods that lasted for two weeks. After many years I decided to try IUD, mostly because of my problems with anemia. The first ten months were a nightmare, I started having cramps with my period so strong I have never experienced it before in my life! After some time, it got better. Until it stopped working and now, I’m back to square one with another IUD. No pain this time, but my hormones made me a crazy bitch for a week, then a crybaby for the next one. Now I’m having my unhappy, stressed, and exhausting period. I know it cannot last forever; we just have to survive the worst part. Stay strong!

To balance hormones naturally and to ease the cycle rollercoaster into a kiddy ride, try Evening Primrose Oil morning and night for a month, then weekly for maintenance. Also, when you feel anxious go outside to be in nature to get grounded and do The breath techniques and/or meditation outside.

Yep, you pretty much described general anxiety. For me it feels like a complete conflict in your mind, but for no logical reason at all. Then I start judging myself for being so irrational (which of course makes it worse). Stick with the cognitive therapy, as well as journaling, meditation & light exercise if you can. It took several attempts for me to break through personally, initially it felt like none of it was working & I wasn’t getting anywhere. Hopefully your doctor in Sydney will come up with some answers. I really feel for you, hang in there & virtual hugs.🌺

Sounds just like me. No idea what the anxiety was about, mostly seemed like anxiety about anxiety or anxiety about not “feeling right.” I had the same thoughts about if this would land me in a psych hospital. I tried everything but felt trapped and ultimately went on an SSRI. One year later I’m better than ever! (Also tend to struggle related to my cycle and think part of it may be PMDD.)

When I realized that hormones plays a primary part in a woman's brain and body changes, I understand myself better and I am more forgiving of myself now. I would feel guilty of how I think and feel and it added to my persistent worrying. I would always say I'm just a worriwart but nope I didn't know that I have been managing my stress and anxiety all these years. It does not do well to entertain your mind too much so I'm practicing relaxation techniques that works for me.

  • @ms.coltoff-fraser-harrigan8328

I suffer from anxiety. You seem to have free floating anxiety, which is common among women. It's important to share. I've tried to find ways to control my anxiety. I cannot meditate because I can't sit still and focus. I take medication but it only lessens it somewhat. You are not alone in this. I'm in America, and Americans don't acknowledge emotional issues as much as they should. Recently, I've been following Ryan Holiday on youtube.
It does help. Please don't think it's just you. I'm writing and listening to you at the same time. I have found that medication is helpful because you need to be able to function. The ironic thing is that we get anxious about "nothing."

I dealt with crippling psychotic depression and active unaliving thoughts since I was about 7 ( when I started puberty) until my early 20s.
I went on a couple types of birth control but went of them due to them making my symptoms worse.
I do have have multiple hormonally based things wrong (and they show up in my genes including 3 for infertility and an inability to process progesterone correctly) so my ablation and the rod have smoothed things out. Unfortunately that means the ADHD is really showing itself.

I haven't gotten very far into your video so there's a chance I might edit this....Anxiety is a tricky little bitch. Sometimes, you'll have something in the very back of your mind, you don't know what it is until it decides to show itself, but that may very well be where your anxiety is stemming from. Yes, sometimes it's painfully obvious but sometimes it's not. I suffer from it to. I have meds but I only take it when it interfers with my sleep, OR if it's just so bad I want to rip my skin off and run for the hills.

I have struggled with anxiety for my whole adult life and have been on anxiety medication for the last 10 years but even with being on medication when I went through hormonal changes such as pregnancy and breastfeeding I have had to change my medication/dosage many times. I at times tired to go off medication but my chest pains were so intense it was unmanageable. I had a lot of shame and guilt about staying on medication during my pregnancies but the doctor explained that it’s a serious disorder and that the mothers health is most important and poses little risk to the baby. They wouldn’t recommend a pregnant mother who is diabetic to stop taking insulin and anxiety is no different . I know you aren’t pregnant so this doesn’t apply but if you have any shame or are stressing about going on medication than please don’t cause yourself undue torment. Do what’s best for you in your situation and try not to worry too much about your worrying.
