This has been well worth the wait!!! Your other version was great but definitely had a few kinks. This update was not at all what I was expecting and honestly you have blown my mind. The interface is so easy and smooth and the fact that it interacts as a regular add-on I think opens up more flexibility and usability. I love the manufacturing part! As a building material designer being able to easily build with full rendered versions of my products will help demonstrate them for sales and investors. As far as G-code aspect goes that isn't something I'd rely on from you as I need to customize slicer settings/CAM setups for 3D printing and CNC routing to match my particular machines and their tooling. Mr. Peel, I am an absolute beginner with Blender, your program is amazing! Even with the minimal knowledge I have I was able to easily make a room, change colours etc. I even figured out how to bring in external stuff. Only one problem, your imperial measurements. As a design / construction professional, no one works in foot decimals, it's feet, inches and fractions. When I enter 10'1" it changes it to 10.1'
In Blender there is a option in the scene settings called Separate Units. This will list Feet Inches. Blender doesn't display fractions yet, but hopefully this can be added in a future release.

Oh sorry I'm super tired and didn't realise it was under the object context menu (shortcut W) //facepalm. Thanks again for working on such a kickass plugin! Looking forward to using it more and for the future updates
Homebuilder needs to merge/work with Archipack to give us finally a complete architectural workflow in blender. Archipack development has slowed to a snail pace. Blenderbim on the other hand is getting nice updates.
Thank you so much for the addon. However, it might be more useful if it was possible to add a personalized library where the user can input their handles, doors, framings, etc as easily as it is to use the in-built ones. This can go a long way in customisation. Alternatively, a way to turn inbuilt assets to mesh
Awesome! What about multiple wall connections? I tried drawing a floor plan, but some connections didn't work well. Maybe I didn't understand how it works. I like Blender's way of modeling too, if it were possible to apply doors and windows in the standard modeling it would be interesting.
I am creating a video all about how to work with home builder walls. Adding doors and windows to a standard mesh could be possible. I will look into it.
@@andrewpeel1996 Ah! I will check that out, too. I just added a room inside the corner to another room, and the new corner connects at the bottom of the wall, but separates at the top. Still amazingly fun to use compared to SketchUp. EDIT: I think when I moved the wall to get it in the right place that I only moved the top vertices. That's probs it.
My only recommendation is to have another way to get to the parameters for things like the cabinets and other objects instead of only having it with the right click context menu, but otherwise, I'm really excited for Home Builder for building homes in Blender.

I found this addon yesterday and managed to create my kitchen in just a couple of hours! thank you so much! I'd love to buy the extended asset library, is it available yet?
Howdy Andrew! I have found an issue - addon works ONLY when I frame the viewport in fullscreen, if not - starting position of the wall sticks at world origin and start to move slightly only when the cursor at the bottom part of the screen (usually Timeline is located there by default). UPD.: I Found a solution and WHY this is happening (Hope it will be helpful) - I have multiple viewports on screen at the same time (main for everything, small one for camera view), so the solution is - to keep one 3d-viewport on the screen at the same time)
I tried it, but have a slight problem: Can't use it on Top-Down View (7). No drawing at all :( If I press the middle mouse button to come out of Top-View, it works. I'm using a floor plan as image plane (made unselectable in the outliner). Any idea, what I am doing wrong? And if I close the wall, like you did with "C" I get the same effect as you on 2:10 . The value for the length becomes purple and isn't adjustable anymore. From time to time I can't get a door to cut through a thicker wall. Sometimes it helps to adjust the thickness of the door, even in the negative, but not always. I'm sure, the most things come from my side, but maybe you have an idea, what I do wrong?
Hi Andrew. Great work you have here. I have been following the development of your addon. BUG REPORT Don't know if it's a bug or user error but... Everything was in metric- good. Probably my Blender settings. I placed a corner cabinet and the Height was stuck in imperial. When placing (after everything else, to fill the hole in the corner) I tried to adjust the height thinking it would adjust all heights but I must have clicked the wrong button. Probably user error but just letting you know. I placed another and the height is def. set to imperial, won't allow a change but gives a big option list of various imperial sizes. Different to other cabinets.
This add-on is truly impressive. I appreciate your effort in making it available. I have observed, however, that the file's responsiveness diminishes when a substantial number of walls are added. I'm currently engaged in designing a 100 x 100 feet structure, complete with 5 walls and 10 windows. Despite utilizing a Mac M1, the 20MB file's performance feels sluggish. Is there any recommended approach to enhance the overall responsiveness?
I have some plans to optimize the drawing. I also plan to create a project feature and allow users to link rooms from separate blend files into one project file which will speed up drawing a lot.

Hi Andrew! Thanks for your video and all your effort! I tried to install Home Builder in 3.4.1 and got a lot of Python tracebacks (probably 10) when I attempted to enable it. Hello. So I got this addon, amazing stuff. The door, is there a way to animate it opening? I tried to add keyframes and drivers but it was unresponsive
You have to find the property in the assembly panel in the sidebar. Blender doesn't support keyframes in dialog boxes yet. I will create a video on this.

Is there a way to transfer the assets, once I'm happy with the results, to the normal Blender workflow so I can make further changes with the regular tools? I created a kitchen which I want to export as an fbx to UE5. I applied all the modifiers but that doesn't work.
Yeah there is a command to make all of the assets static. It's available in the assembly menu. If you ask on discord I can show you a screenshot. creativedesigner3d.com/2021/09/08/discord-channel/
Yeah I still need to implement roofs. I am focusing on the interior elements right now. Adding a ceiling is very easy. You can just add a floor plane then move it up. I hope this helps. If you have questions about this feel free to ask on discord.
If you are using Blender 4 make sure you download Home Builder 4. If you keep running into issues please ask on discord. creativedesigner3d.github.io/home_builder_3_docs/01_getting_started/

You can change the rotation in the prompts interface, but I have just done some work on walls to make this work better. I will be releasing another version soon.
Hi Andrew,
I haven’t been able to finish the video but is this available for folks who have already bought home builder?
Just got the end. Glad to hear it!
Hello. I downloaded blender 3.5.1 a while ago. but I couldn't make the move you made at 0:51 seconds of the video. there is no "asset library" in my add-ons list. how can i add?
I will need more information. Try asking on discord. The link is in the description.
HB3 installed ok, but errors when enabling. Cannot try HB. I am on macOS with blender 3.4.1
There is an issue with MacOS. I will have an update soon that fixes the issue.
Hi Andrew, this is amazing thank you for this but unfortunately after clicking the asset library tick , its throwing error of traceback python etc
Make sure you are using Blender 3.5, and the latest version of Home Builder. Ask on Discord if you are still running into issues. creativedesigner3d.com/2021/09/08/discord-channel/
I'm having the same issue and i'm using the latest version of blender, is there any solution@@andrewpeel1996
i have trouble with the arrangement of the products in the room, they always rotate in one direction and i can't rotate it to the position i want, can you help me?
Watch the latest video I released. It explains how to draw rooms. Basically you want to draw your rooms clockwise.
Im running it on Blender 4.0 and it crashes every time I click on products, build, materials or decorations. Basically it only allows me to build walls.
Any info on this?
I just uploaded the version that works with Blender 4. Check here for more information. creativedesigner3d.com/2023/12/14/home-builder-4/

@@andrewpeel1996 , where can we download the beta version?
Are you able to edit the units using blenders edit mode ? For example I want to create a hole in the worksurface by pressing tab and creating loop cuts to delete a face however every time I select the face and press tab it just disappears.
You just need to apply the modifiers applied to the object first and Blenders edit mode will work.
@@andrewpeel1996 Brilliant ! Thank you so much ! Looking forward to Home Builder 4 !
Hi Andrew! Thanks for your video and all your effort! I tried to install Home Builder in 3.4.1 and got a lot of Python tracebacks (probably 10) when I attempted to enable it. Normally when an addon does that I just wait. Are there any known bugs you're still working on which might produce tracebacks? Thanks again!
There is an issue with MacOS. I will have an update soon that fixes the issue.
@@andrewpeel1996 Tried it. The assembly panel worked. Deleted the driver on the z-axis and added keyframes manually. Thank you. Looking forward to the video
Is this a free update for peeps who have the old one? What about the add-on pack?
Yeah this is a free update. Users who purchased the extended asset library will get the updated extended library for free when it is released.
If you ask on discord I can show you a screenshot. creativedesigner3d.com/2021/09/08/discord-channel/
the most important, the roof ???? how you put the roof ? i din't get the element in the plugin
Yeah I still need to implement roofs. I am focusing on the interior elements right now. Adding a ceiling is very easy. You can just add a floor plane then move it up. I hope this helps. If you have questions about this feel free to ask on discord.
@@andrewpeel1996 ohhh well that's good idea thanks 🙏🙏🙏🙏,
plz sir help me i really very need your help.when i click on product my blender is shout down . plz me what happen with my pc also blender
If you are using Blender 4 make sure you download Home Builder 4. If you keep running into issues please ask on discord. creativedesigner3d.github.io/home_builder_3_docs/01_getting_started/
What If I want to create my own material it disappears If I go into edit mode.
How do you change direction of wall drawing before you accept it? My walls are drown like i would make exterior. Not to mention that creation any cabinet make an unknown python error.
You can move your mouse in the direction of the wall you want to draw. If you are getting an error make sure you are on the latest version. Ask on discord if you are still having issues.
when will you relase the 2d layout view?
2D Layout Views will be implemented in the next release of Home Builder, so it will be available soon.
@@andrewpeel1996 im so excited for it 😆 i really need it for my work
How do you remove the snap on the walls?
In the prompts you can disconnect walls and move them where you want to, but I plan to make some improvements to how walls snap together soon.
such a brilliant add-on
does it support auto-generate interior?
I don't have any features that will automatically create an interior but I like that Idea. Hopefully at some point I can Implement some sort of AI to help you design.
