I grew up in a family with seven children, six girls and one boy. The family next door had six boys and one girl and their mom was known as the fun mom. All the neighborhood kids loved hanging out at our neighbors house because the mom, Rosalie, welcomed all of us and could make the simplest things entertaining, like setting up games and snacks under their covered patio or garage on rainy days. She had the patience of a saint and used to let me "help" take care of her twin baby boys, I was probably hindering more than helping 😉. I'll never forget those happy childhood memories with Rosalie. I'll also never forget that my mom was more interested in keeping a spotless house than hanging out with us kids. You remind me of Rosalie! ❤

When my children were younger, all 5, we would venture to the beach. I was lucky to live on the coast in Florida. Also fishing. It is a lot to pack up but great to get out. Your children will grow up and thank you.

It is so nice that the river seems so clear and safe to swim in. I grew up with a river in my backyard, but we had so many horrible floods that have left it polluted, so we were never allowed to swim in it (I so wished I could). This is great. I'm not much of a cabbage fan at all. . .maybe one day I'll get into it. Great video.
BRI. I would’ve had a bag FULL of those big smooth stones for my flower beds. I have my herb garden in a block stone raised bed - it’s mortared together and the stones hold heat and I’ve already harvested rosemary, oregano and dill 👍. BUT just planting my gardens now. Bri may I give you a FEW suggestions to make your summer adventures to the park hiking or to the pool or river. (I am a Grammy now & when our children who are your age was little)always packed at the beginning of summer 2 nylon bags filled with swimming items I take every time. One bag of extra clothes & diapers ext. Each bag has what we need daily (no food). Then those bags hang in the garage on a hook & I label them. Some years a tote worked better with a lid as our family grew. THE CHILDREN KNEW NOT TO TOUCH THIS BAG TO TAKE ANYTHING OUT . They helped pack these at the beginning of summer. Then a few days before we are going I packed the back of our van with that bag. I also year round have a good cooler in my van. Then all I do the night (before bed) ahead is pack the cooler with drinks & snacks . I keep a bag just for the other food items easy accessible to fill & grab this one the night before. Then the older kids knew to help LOAD unload & where to sit the stuff to dry for our next adventure. This will save so much time before each trip. Then I found I forgot less things.
