The other day I decided last minute that I didn’t want to cook the chicken and rice for dinner as I had planned. So instead I grabbed a jar of home canned ground beef and had tacos ready in less than 10 minutes. Home canned food makes life so easy!
Last night we had salmon Pattie’s, fried potatoes and pot of beans all from pantry.
Would love to see your basement pantry. Your food storage has always motivated me not to give up. I'm doing your 5 dollar stock up from a few years back.
That is so great to hear! I’m still working on getting everything together but hopefully soon I can get that video out! Pushing for next week 😊
Ty for sharing crockpot recipes, I will be saving to my crock folder. I am an apple person, just finished dehydrating 25 lbs. of apples!
I love these Pantry Restock videos! Thank you so much.🥰
I am 100% an apple person! I always have been and always will be! I usually eat one piece of pumpkin pie on thanksgiving day and that’s the extent of my pumpkin intake for the year. Lol
More canning! Love it! I also like seeing how you incorporate your home canned items into your meal plans
Best time to invest in a roaster is a round Thanksgiving time
I alway learning something new thanks❤
Both.
I like both apple and pumpkin flavors.
Awesome to use the Mississippi pot on chicken.
I’m not sure who I got the idea from about simmering the broth on the stove all night long. Earlier this year I was sick, I took my bag of scraps out of the freezer and threw them in my crockpot all night long on low. It sure made a good pot of soup, however, I messed it up because I added pasta instead of noodles because I didn’t have noodles at the time. I over cooked the pasta which fell apart.
Get a pasta pot in particular for making broth so it's easier to strain since it already has a colander with it
🍎 I love apple cider, apple pie, apple teas, apple crisp
You are so right, the other night we didn’t know what to have for supper, I went to my pantry grabbed canned potatoes, carrots, some canned pork, fried up some onions and we had an awesome dinner. Keep up the great work, I love it
That is awesome!
Morning,,I'm both apple and pumpkin.😊
The apple vibe must be in the air. Already this year I have made apple crisp, apple dump cake and apple cider doughnut cake. I love both also but this year its apples for me too.😁
I love watching you, always so much information. Thank you so much. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I bet you could have added a tsp of celery seed while you cook it, then strain the seeds out of final product.
Fall apple, never pumpkin!
Muffins look delicious! Yummy
Hi Angel girl and family ❤️ Have a blessed day 😇 Love you guys 😇🥰😇
😊😊 looks great!
Those muffins looked delicious. The beef broth turned out beautifully & I'm sure it tastes better than any store bought variety. Excellent idea for canning the hamburger meat: perfect for quick spaghetti meat sauce or whip up chili for a fast dinner on busy nights.
Tamara
We love apple and pumpkin both. All the fall flavors are the best.. your food always looks so good. Beef stock looks beautiful.
Hey sweet friend those muffins look so good!! I’ve never made bone broth might have to give it a try!💜
Yay canning!! Bonus, bonus bonus! I still need to do my broth but you just made it tons easier by showing how you do it. Thank you!! I canned coffee day before yesterday too. It made it stronger but it didn't taste bitter. Gonna check again next month. 💞🙏🏼💞
I swanee you are the queen of waste not want not!
🤣😊😊
Hi Tam! I’m running behind these days but had to watch your video before going to bed. I was in the kitchen prepping some things for the week & my daughter & son-in-law are coming over for dinner tomorrow & I’m so excited because I haven’t cooked for anyone in my my new apartment yet. I’m making spaghetti dinner with spaghetti squash & penne pasta. I’m going to try making apple crisp for dessert too! You’re such an inspiration to me & I can never thank you enough! God bless you! ❤️
thanx for sharing , have a great day
I love apple everything
Great job baby girl ❤
Your free bone broth is beautiful ! You are a smart homemaker ! Apple 🍎 😊
I’m both apple AND pumpkin!!
Love the video Tamera 💖
Thank you!!
I'm so happy I subscribed to your channel, I sure enjoyed this canning video. I have never seen anyone make beef broth before and it intrigued me. Altho' adding onion peel...wow...where have I been eh!!! Could you show how your pressure cooker works, sounds better than a water bath. Thanks for sharing!
The broth looks great ❤. If you have celery salt you could use that in your broth
cool
I bought my first roaster on clearance after thanksgiving one year.
Hey hey sweet friend ❤❤❤
I love my pumpkin but apple is a close second for me.
Another great video! I've got lots of apple butter canned up and will try adding some the next time I make muffins. Have you tried Pot Roast In a Jar yet? I opened my first jar last night and that was the best pot roast I have ever made! I made a roux for gravy when opened the jar and it was ready to eat in ten minutes.
I haven’t yet, but plan on it!! You got me excited to try it for sure 😊
That beef broth looks so pretty!! You really got a lot of broth! I'm hoping to get my beef bones turned into broth this weekend. I love having ground been on the shelf. I'm also hoping to get some more breakfast sausage canned up It's so easy. You just do it like you did the hamburger. Makes it easy to make some biscuits and gravy.
I did biscuits and gravy this past weekend with my canned sausage! Loved it!
@@SouthernWifeEverydayLife awesome! It’s so handy because you don’t have to worry about forgetting to get it out of the freezer. I love our canned “fast food”!!
Love all the apple things. Will eat pumpkin 🎃 bread, but dislike pumpkin pie or PSL
Hi Tamara !
I think it depends on my mood. Right now it's definitely Fall apple. Tomorrow I could wake up wanting pumpkin pies 😂. Either one is fantastic.
Hey hey sweet friend ❤
Have you ever added apple cider vinegar to your simmering broth. It helps draw the good stuff out of the bones and helps your broth congeal. Muffins look great.
Apple for me! Ty from Oklahoma
Tamara have you decided on a bedding set and paint for your bedroom ? I definitely want to get ne a canner like yours next. ;)
I have a bedding set on it’s way from Amazon! Should be here Saturday.
@@SouthernWifeEverydayLife Can't wait !! ;)
You gotta start using fresh garlic! So much better
I love then both ❤🍏🍎🎃🎃
Pumpkin!!
Can you do a video on your bread maker?
Still one of my goals is to learn to can. I know you have an electric canner, however, I did some research back when I wanted to learn. The research said it wasn’t the best. How long have you been canning this way. I just don’t want to get sick from canning the wrong way. I don’t want to blow the top off one of the big presser cookers that my used to can with.
As long as you have a proper electric pressure canner and follow safe canning practices it is safe. There is a difference in some. Like a regular instant pot. It is not a pressure canner. Just a cooker, so it’s not safe. 1000s and 1000s of people have been home canning with electric pressure canners for years and years!
Do whatever you are comfortable with.
@@SouthernWifeEverydayLife thank you for this information.
I have been thinking about canning hamburger but some people say they don’t like the texture…I would use it for chili, sloppy joes, tacos, etc easy and time saving. Just wondered what others say about texture/taste?
From what I gathered when asking around. People love it and people hate it lol It’s one of those things you just have to try it for yourself. Do a small batch and test it for yourself! We liked it. It’s perfect for soups, nachos, hamburger helper, etc!
In case you didn’t know.. that green bowl is worth a fortune.
It is ❤️
💖💖💖
Hi Tamara. Great video! I am simply amazed by everything that you do! I know absolutely nothing about canning but you make it seem so interesting and fun. I have a question. What keeps your meat from going bad and how long will it last? Sorry if that’s a dumb question.😂
Thanks for sharing.🤗💕
Let’s see if I can explain this. Lol
So when you process the meat in the pressure canner it cooks and seals the lids. The meat will be fully cooked in the jar and when that lid seals it make it shelf stable. Pressure canning it brings it to the proper temperature to kill anything in the jars and the seal insures its safety. Most say 1-2 years. But I’ve known people to use home canned stuff YEARS later and its still good. As long as the seal is good and you do the smell and look test, i’d use it. Lol
@@SouthernWifeEverydayLife Great explanation! I can totally understand that. Thanks Tamara!💜
Unfortunately my family won't eat canned ground beef. If its not fresh or frozen they will not touch it. They can spot it a mile away. So I just freeze precooked meats. I wish they would eat canned meat though. It would save room in my little freezer for other stuff.
I need to make some apple muffins. Those look so good. I have also been into apple this year, and I’m normally a pumpkin fan. I have made my mother’s apple cake several times already.
I'm more team apple 😂
I tried the beef broth with mostly bones, and it was almost tasteless. I realized it needs meat to have the good beef flavor. I used it, in soups and stuff, and it was still good, but not just as a broth. Curious how yours turned out flavor wise.
Flavor was great on mine!
How long do you think that lasts on your shelves
Do you mean how long is it good for or how long does it last us?
@@SouthernWifeEverydayLife how long it holds up in the jars before it’s bad
Most say 1-2 years.
Not a fan of pumpkin anything! I am a apple girl!
