It's a great bakkie, It's just not popular in eyes of adults who didn't grow up with parents who owed it. Trust me if there was a Mitsubishi in your driveway as you went to school, you'd definitely how powerful, reliable and comfortable they are.
They're better than toyota, but why I chose a hilux over it was because the Legend 4x4 extra cab will hold value. But our 2021 Pajero 3.2 is leaps and bounds ahead of any prado/fortuner. Plus the new Mitsubishi bakkie doesn't have enough body style options.

I've been in love with it since 2013 and I had a taste of it when I test drove the Merc A180CDI Now just when I want to take the plunge and buy it, its no longer available.
I think the others just marketed themselves more aggressively and the Triton was then forgotten. They would have to make a lot of noise and really push into people’s faces if they want to shift numbers. They have chance of making it because the popular ones are high risk - theft.
Mitsubishi SA’s marketing is so low key as to be invisible. From the days when the Colt was on TV in every magazine and punted in sponsored off-road events and camping / lifestyle scenes. When last did we see any of these channels being used by Mitsubishi ? Fire the whole marketing division - they’re all dead or asleep.
I’ve never loved the Triton for quite a stupid reason, but the current shape always looks like it’s overloaded even when it’s empty. It looks like the chassis is cracked or bending and I can’t get past it. Never even test drove it when I was looking for a bakkie
Mitsubishi dropped the ball with the evolution of the Colt Rodeo (which was a successful bakkie), they should have kept the name and modernised the shape, instead they introduced Triton, which was a failure from the beginning, they have never recovered from that mistake!
Well honestly, Jacob knows ZERO about cars in general, and can make any brand look bad. After watching a few of is reviews, I decided to not watch them at all anymore. He can stick to the Chinese brands where the buttons and lights impresses inexperienced motoring journo's.
Please get rid of Jacob, he fumbles every single video. Or at least have someone supervise what he says. Your channel has influence and clout and what a presenter says should be truthful. Train him, or get rid of him, but he is a painful watch at the moment
Speak for yourself. Jacob is relatable, and provides a normal analysis that everybody understands. We are tired of presenters that will throw vehicle jargon that never helps the avarage person understand what they are buying.
100% agree. That oke can make any car look bad. You can give him an army tank and he'll get it stuck, or have the weapon misfire making the tank manufacturer look bad. Zero motoring knowledge.
Just change the channel if you don't like him, he's doing a fantastic job and I am always looking forward to his reviews. There's a lady who always plays music and sing during reviews, I don't like her style, so I don't bother watching her. However, I will not call for her to be fired, that's beyond evil.
@@johankotze8286I have seen worst car reviewers in this country like Juliet or whatever, who always plays loud music and singing as if we like it. To avoid calling her to be fired because I don't like her, I don't bother watching. Nobody's forcing you to watch Jacob and he's not going anywhere

Triton is truly an awesome bakkie. Very underrated.

Mitsubishi Triton is the most underrated bakkie in both Namibia 🇳🇦 and South Africa 🇿🇦

If the Duster is R600k then it will be a joke. It needs to be R450 000 for the top spec, otherwise it cant compete with the Chinese cars.

If duster goes beyond E500k, duster is finished. Its in the same price bracket and category as Suzuki Jimny. Chinese are already below E400k.

Had three of them in 2.8 diesel. New ones are way too slow and heavy on fuel. In my point of view engine too small for the big body.
Look at the front end. They should ask Mazda BT-50

Great Bakkie the Triton, howevee it is competing against the top three locally built Bakkies...Toyota, Ranger and Isuzu. It stands no chance at all.
