Because everyone was clowning on Mercedes when the C63 V8 wasn't as quick as the AWD Audi RS5 V6 a few years ago. That C63 was my favourite car but you always had idiots complaining that it wasn't quite as fast as an AWD.. Like it has a V8 and is RWD, be quiet. Now we have overcomplicated mess that no one likes. The same clowns are still there, complaining that the Revuelto is not as fast as SF90 Stradale, again is has an NA V12 instead of that souless V8, be quiet. Want the V12 to die like the V10 did?

The Intercooler review suggested if sales are crap, they may look at doing at a C63 midlife renewal with the V8 back. Porsche brought back the 6 cylinder in the Cayman GTS. Different parameters, but we live in hope :-)
Less hybrid. Its the cheapest model, hybrid is a big reason for not just weight increase but price increase. So just do away with it all together or keep it as minimal as possible. A V8 is enough really.

The only thing they messed up on this car… is the price. Asking 190k plus is to much. Should have be 160 starting. Even in Los Angeles I have only seen 1 on the road in the last year.

Yes, you have much more power than the W222 (802 vs 612ps), but this W223 is also about 525kg heavier, which means it’s even less agile. + because there is so much added battery tech, it’s a lot more complicated and more expensive go work on if there anything goes wrong. Wouldn’t want to own one out of warranty. 😅

I have carbon ceramics on mine, this weighs more than 200kg+ compared to mine, imagine the wear/tear. An M5 owner is surely caring about the running costs, it’s not a super car. Actually, everyone does.

Man those screens already look dated and cheap for the price of the car. Exterior design is also incredibly boring and barely possible to tell between all the other models in their lineup
A friend's brother got one. Almost 300k euros. Has the brown interior, the seats are gorgeous But the interior, the screens - that look identical to the ones found in a C class - to me are just unacceptable at that price point. Piano black everywhere, finger print magnet... For 100k and a bit, you can get a Genesis G90 and get the same quality, if not higher, with far higher reliability, minus the "fame " of having a luxury brand on the front For the rest of the money, you can get a 911. This car doesn't make any sense, and not in a good way. But I guess if you have more money than sense... Sure
So they pumped up the hosepowers just to get to the same power/weight ratio with the old model. Plus, or rather minus, u get a 300L boot capacity. And if u have a bit longer journey after u empty the batteries, you carry extra 500kg with you. That is good for the consumption, the wheels and for the road im sure. What a clown world

I was never a huge fan of how they did the cockpit layout. I hope the next generation changes this. My guess is that didn’t want to copy the trend of curved displays. I suspect they’re going to use a reconfigured version of what’s in their EQ series of cars and the S Class will have a hyper screen.
I'm waiting for it to get the superscreen like in the new E class & slightly more range from the battery in electric only mode, then it will be the perfect all rounder for daily driving & the occasional longer journeys.
When this car was revealed the car had an additional sensor in the grill which looked out of place but would have surely been with reason. Does anyone know what its purpose is/was? I say 'was' because review videos or website photos do not show this in the grill anymore. Why would it not be included in production ready cars, or is it an option that is available yet?
Will be interesting to see the future of this car in 10 years when it’s long out of warranty, worth 1/10th of its current price, and needs thousands and thousands of dollars for every single item that breaks on it 😳
The best AMG cars are the ones that don’t make sense. It has been this way from the start, and should continue to be this way as much as possible.
