Flights delayed and trays were raised. Passengers asking why heading to the sky. In the night our captain was polite. Bruce Dickenson's piloting has begun, British Airway's work is done!
Can you imagine what it is like to Captain a 747 for long hours, the concentration it takes, staying alert and awake. And then that evening get on stage and do a 2 hour set. For month after month. The man has the fitness, drive and stamina of no one else on Earth. Truly legendary.
Yes and no as he has two other pilots so they take breaks and modern aircraft fly auto pilot 90% of the time. Solo piloting small aircraft is very demanding. Your praise for Bruce us noble but he's not some superman he's just had time to work with personal trainers and dieticians.
@@glennoc8585 He has his own FO and another complete backup crew as do all long haul flights. And depending on what plane, an engineer. Of course he is not flying the plane constantly. And to say you just kick your shoes off when the Autopilot is on is disingenuous. It still takes huge amounts of concentration to monitor the gauges, flight plan, fuel flow, distractions from the rear, sterile cockpit below 10,000 feet. You have to be 100% on the ball the whole time. So yes he isn't flying the plane constantly, and I would have thought if he has a 2 hour show on consecutive days, the relief crew take over. If you were to say to me, tell me someone who you think is superhuman, I would say Bruce is a great example.

He's driven and successful but I've met quite a few guys like Bruce over the years. Being in a band have Bruce the financial means to go on to other things and expensive pursuits. I know a guy that is s businessman, pilot of helicopters and fixed wing and also plays in a cover band. Sure not the fame and fortune of Bruce but still a rich guy. I am a long time Iron Maiden fan, I listened to them with Paul Di' Anno. When Bruce debuted in the Number Of The Beast album in 1982 it was one of my greatest music listening experiences I have ever had. I remember standing in line for 2 hours waiting to buy the record, at that time Iron Maiden had no radio air play on the US. And When I went home to play the record with my friends, we were all blown away. I have been an Iron Maiden fan since those days and I still listen them.

What fun would it be to spend a day with Bruce just listening to the ideas in his head and how someone like him could influence the younger generation of kids today to get off the I-pads and video games. Bruce also has a huge knowledge of history and what's gone on and come before and he would make a great teacher, shame more don't listen to men like him.
As a metal fan, Bruce has always represented us well. I have always admired his sheer will and determination and his strong work ethic. I was them once and it was apparent Bruce was quite sick. Yet he preformed the entire concert and had to be carried off stage. 2 days later he was hospitalized for pneumonia. Only a doctor could keep Bruce from a stage. While many younger performers won't perform if they get a hang nail.

Iron Maiden is the best metal band ever!! I took my 11 year old son to the Legacy of the Beast in Las Vegas and he was blown away by how amazing they sounded. I've seen Maiden 6 times going back to 1987. Bruce is incredible!!!
Bruce is a brilliant, amazing human being. I've never seen so much energy from a singer on stage. Their new video Writing on the Wall is an absolute MUST watch. Cheers!
I saw a lot of concerts in the 80's. A LOT. I was just telling a friend the other day, that one thing about Iron Maiden was that YOU KNEW, when they came out on stage, they brought everything they had. You never felt like a show was routine with them. They always brought a ton of energy and they always looked like they were having fun, and we, the fans, were certainly having fun and everything they did, we showed up for it. What ever Bruce has to say, I'm here to listen.
