My right eye has a crushed optic nerve (caused by high IOP (intra occular pressure)) - which has resulted in about 5% vision in my right eye ( practically useless). At the 12 minute mark David talks about treatment that reprogrammed a mouse's optic nerve to regenerate. I would gladly volunteer for such a study - I mean, what do I have to lose - the vision in my right eye is already gone. I wish my comment ( much like, a "message in a bottle"), would find its way to Professor Sinclair.
I think he was talking one day about gathering some volunteers, but that might have been for something else. Either way, I think you may wait for a year or 2, but the technology is going to be there pretty soon I believe. If it works in mice and human cells and whole organs, there's only legislative and ethical reasoning slowing this down. They can also use mRNA tech to deploy it anywhere in the body, so I think it's really gonna be pretty soon and change the world.
This science has so many positive implications. I recently did something awful and hurt many people close to me, I am experiencing tremendous shame for my actions and was suicidal for a time. I am so glad I didn't now, as this means we can recover from anything as personal growth is essentially unlimited. I know that I'll never be so shallow as to betray someone I love again, and now I may have eternity to prove it!
The saying" Death is inevitable" should inspire us to live a health life instead of panicking. When Sinclair says" Death is a disease" it really challenges my traditional view on death. I believe now that Death is a disease and since every disease is treatable, there's no reason why death can't be cured, or at least slowed down or increasing the lifespan by as much as 100 years , which is like having another life experience.

I have to smile during that lecture. I have been using antioxidants exclusively for 19 years. I refuse any signaling pathway activators, flavonoids and polyphenols. The goal is that I'm as young as David Sinclair and I look so young too.
@@sterlingrooke4712 maybe, but then again maybe not. he has been self treating himself with his discoveries for over a decade. If any of what he says is true, which we know at the majority is in some way, then why wouldnt he look younger if all his cells are genetically younger than they were before?
Not true. Looks a little older every time he comes public on RUclips. Have been watching him since onset of COVID in early 2020. Age reversal may work the very first time you try any of the numerous health improvement protocols, such as fasting. If he was right, and given the time he has been taking NMN and stuff, he would look way behind his chronological age, 52. As such, he looks as a very healthy man in his 50s, not 30s or 40s. No miracle happened.
Brilliant. This man is absolutely brilliant. I have watched every one of his videos and am now opening a wellness center that uses many of his principles. You can’t get around science. You can’t deny the research. Thank you Dr. Sinclair! I plan to live to 120 because of your brilliant research. My goal is to share this information with the world. I hope one day to get to meet you. That is on my vision board!!! 😃
If David is correct, then by the time of you being 120 science will proceed so far forward that you could reverse your age completely. Meaning you will be immortal.
@@ruthenianthruth I love that John! And guess what the name of my wellness spa is… Immortal Wellness Spa! Lol. I am willing to be immortal as long as my health is good. 😀
I think that dr Sinclair is not emphasising on the life span but his reasearches are more about a life with less body illnesses, which are 2 different things
@@Lily_Daneva Definitely a combination of both concepts. His research is based around ways to rid the body of disease and produce longevity with the use of fasting, decreasing meat consumption/amino acids, use of vitamins and pharmaceuticals, etc. to trick the body into thinking its under “stress” in an attempt to promote 3 major chemicals and pathways in the body… and of course there’s the epi-genome and the things humans do to turn off and on our innate protective mechanisms…. and how cells are turned off or on when they shouldn’t be…but that’s for another time! All I’m saying is his research on minimizing diseases and producing longevity is brilliant and I wish more people would embrace his advice. Much love and wishing us all amazing health ❤️
Thank god youtube suggested me this gem of a video. But wouldve also loved to hear what the right things are that should be done to live till the future, also about when he thinks this future will come (i know he has said in interviews 10 years but still).
I keep waiting for a catch even though I've been following Sinclair's work for years. It seems way too good to be true, but the results so far speak for themselves. Hopefully the human testing goes well. If this technology pulls through, we are in for a completely new paradigm - not just in medicine, but in the human condition itself.
Well the idea is that if you use the natural aging defenses (mTOR, AMPK and Sirtuins), you can still enjoy as much fear and hate as you would like to AND live longer. Its a win-win.
Thanks to David I’ve incorporated long term fasting and reduced my insulin levels significantly. I can truly tell that I reversed the aging clock by just those two factors alone. Hormesis is real and it just makes sense. I lift weights more now, cold showers, i don’t feed into a lot of drama like i used to, procrastinate less all in an effort to make sure my stress levels are low. My new focus area revolves around testosterone synthesis to make sure my hormones are balanced appropriately. That too is improving the quality of my life.
@@jammies6228 been fasting for so long think I’m past cycles. I typically eat 1 meal a day 90% of the time and then when I feel the urge I do 72hr water only fasts. I don’t really do longer fasts mainly because I see fasting as a way of life now. So 72hrs is that sweet spot for me. As far as cold showers go depends on the season. In winter I prefer evenings to make sure I feel the cold water shock. In the summer mornings seem to provide colder water.
This is one of those things that is so extraordinary and almost too good to be true but the science and technology does appear to be going in a promising direction. Treating aging like an illness/medical condition than just an inevitability is a giant paradigm shift.
Living a longer life is a thrilling idea whose time has come. The secret to the success of this will be resilience. Resilient to the stress that the media, the food cartels, and the politicians daily create for we citizens. Only the names and faces have changed. Here’s to a long and healthy life for all of us. Cheers.
I read his book and put my parents on NMN. My dad got energy that he didn’t know he had. My mom hasn’t noticed a difference. Looking forward to 40 more years with my parents🥰

That's not enough, get into the longevity field and keep track of all research. You can try AkG for instance, resveratrol, quercetin, fisetin and TMG. And wait on the research which I expect to use CRISPR to inactivate the genes responsible with aging, have a look for instance at what BioViva is doing now with a modified virus CMV. Also, they will probably manage the use the yamanaka factors to reprogram most cells to the moment right after specialization. How old are ur parents? The 22nd century will need to be about our existence not just as individual, separate organisms, but as collective organisms. We do not exist in a vacuum. The current Corona virus shows us this as does current research on the microbiome. Our living environment as well as our interconnected, interdependent existence with other humans and other species is key to survival. For example, our food depends upon plants that are supported by insects and bacteria. If those contributing causal factors of food production are damaged, so too will our survival be impacted. Our social interconnection matters as well. We exist in a world with tens of thousands of nuclear weapons that can do untold damage including destroying life on earth. Humbly I posit that surviving as a collective organism become our priority. We must hold our place as it were for a time in the future when we can have a peaceful planet that can safely support a smaller population that lives longer and healthier lives. If we can survive this current toxic episode in history we might be able to focus on long life. While a few elite people are at wonderful wealthy institutions such as Harvard, most people are getting inadequate education. It is hubris to think that the elite few with their exquisite research and their billions of dollars will save all us poor people. We need to consider the state of the collective organism now. Right now. For we are in a dangerous and precarious situation. Our oceans are trashed. Our air and water are polluted. Our ‘food’ supply is toxic. Most people are being ground into poor health with long hours of unsatisfactory labor. Our capitalistic system stands on the shoulders of field and factory labor which is exploitative. We are at war all over the planet. Your research is so beautiful. But I must say, unless we address the profound state of collective disease that exists today, what good will it be to stand alone at age 200 individually? Our social existence also has a profound impact on longevity as research shows- babies who are in isolation or deprived of human touch do not thrive. Our genetic existence tells a greater story. The story is that we exist collectively, interconnected and interdependent. Individual existence is a mirage. I sincerely hope this important work will be viewed in context. It is powerful, but without the broader context it will be rendered meaningless.
Agree with all said. If we all do our part, kind, generous, sharing & caring to our fellow humans, to all creatures and planet earth. Dr Sinclair is certainly doing his part in sharing what he knows, so clearly and so generously.

This guy's talk really is giving me hope My mother just got treated for cancer n now it came back in a different site N what this guy says is rlly making me feel a bit of hope that one day she will see my grandchildren I wish she can stay alive until then

@@murrmurr765 Yes it is hard, I wear a neckless with her fingerprint on it which helps. I use the loss of my mother as strength. I think 💬"what would my mother want me to do". After she died I started to wake up, I got married and I also set up a business that I enjoy and pays a lot more than my last job. All this is because my mother gave me the strength to do it and take action.
I have been saying this... longevity is our choice! If we want to sustain our health, we have to do something about it! This will start by knowing what supplies our body needs. Start by eating a balanced diet, quit vices, exercise regularly and take an NMN supplement. Mine is a 500mg per day, NMN by Vitruvin. I just knew all of this lifespan information through Dr. Sinclair's book. It says there's no point increasing lifespan without. The goal should be to live longer while staying young and healthy. Sinclair believes that in the foreseeable future, it's possible for humans to live beyond 120 or even 150, without the frailty, diseases and disability we now associate with old age. See your result and tell the same experience.
Unfortunately, people like Elon Musk don't believe in longevity. He said it would be wrong to keep people alive for long periods of time. I felt that he secretly wants to die because he hates his crazy life as he once alluded to lmao.
I love Dr. Sinclair's talks about reversing people's age. And because of this, I love to live more to 100. I hat aging. I will be 50 on my next birthday, but many people still think I am still 30+. Very overwhelming but all thanks to NMN by vitruvin. Along with balanced diet and regular exercise, it's definitely possible to improve the quality of living and slow the aging process. If not because of his talks and also his book, I wouldnt be this healthy, fit, and youthful.
Thank you David for this incredible information. What brand of NMN do you recommend and how much daily? Take care & keep up fighting for the planet & humanity :) Side note: I've been doing interminttent fasting for the past year but working out / running & weights for the past 30 years and those things def do help!!!
Look up more of david sinclair if you see his interviews they already know how to reverse aging in mice he seemingly has solved the issue and now only waits human trials it seems
@@ThatBlueSkull I went back and watched a few of his old videos and he's always been very conservative with his predictions. The fact he's now exuding confidence in his work is very reassuring.
I would. That probably makes me a bit crazy, but I'd rather stay around for an infinite time. Of course, even if Sinclair does cure aging and death to an extent, we'll still have plenty of struggles to deal with such as the sun exploding and the heat death of the universe in a few billions of years. We should have a few billion years to solve that, if it's even possible. If not then guess I'll have no choice but at least I won't have to leave behind family or experience losing any of them since we'd all kinda die at the same time. (Also, so I don't sound too crazy, I know the chances of living to even a few thousand years right now are basically 0% but I can dream 🙃)
NAD changed my life… I have been receiving the therapy for several years. (since 2017) My doctor did a blood test and then kind of joked (but not really), you are getting younger, your methyl markers have reversed a bit…what are you doing?!? I replied, “NAD”. And for the record, I am now 34 and people think I am in my 20s. Don’t get me wrong, I also have a very healthy diet and do not consume refined sugars, stay away from dairy very little gluten. Sweating is a great detoxer! I Believe as a life and health coach student, that there are many facets of life that we need to focus on and change our lifestyle within to look AND feel our best.
It breaks my heart to see how mice are used for scientific experiments, but I love the message and it helped me feel hopeful about science and the accuracy of how it is advancing.
One day I was running and God told me to go through Psalm 103. I did and came to the verse that says "He satisfies my mouth with good things, so that my youth is renewed like the eagles". He asked me "what do I think that means?" I said (in my heart)- well, the words that come out of your mouth can affect your health . He said "there are foods you can eat that will reverse aging." I chewed on that for a long time. I changed my eating and literally reverse aged. I didn't realize I had, but my son asked me what I was doing because I was reverse aging.
Dr Sinclair you saved my life from long Covid!!! It was 6-7 weeks post infection...still winded, extreme brain fog, fatigue getting worse!! I knew I was in long covid beginning stages. Luckily I thought about the Transreservatol to help my brain. Then I remembered NMN. Started low dose 250mg of each. Within three days I started to feel the brain fog lift and fatigue was decreasing. I knew I was on the right path. I am left with some brain damage....every do often my thoughts go blank and I can't remember names of things or people as I once did. Happens once or twice a week. I hear you about low calorie diets, reducing mTOR and lower protein. But look at the guy and others who eat this way. No muscle or strength. Longevity is also linked to muscle preservation. It’s a balance. I wouldn’t go this extreme personally. Eat your protein and lift the weights, but eat loads of veges and anti oxidants and fast for 16-20 hours a day. It’s not that hard
Dude the guy is spending his life researching basically inmortality, what time the dude has to be hitting weights. Having muscle mass and strength is not the only metric for health. And before you say anything, I also do intermediate fasting, hit the gym every day and all that shabang.
There are 12 slices to the complete " fitness pie". Strength( albeit yr coveted muscles)is merely a small fraction of the whole. All surgeons & knowledgeable docs will gladly tell you that the cardio systems maintenance & development is paramount. Wow this is exciting. To think I can look and feel young again is truly amazing. I often thought how it would be to stay young forever and never get old. Hopefully it will be. I'm afraid it might be after I'm gone.. I'm 67 and look old and feel old.. life stress has taken it's toll on me.
Good talk to make us think. I have been using some modified amino-acid to achieve this successfully - Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Alpha-Lipoic Acid, N-Acetyl Cysteine. I am sure we will soon get such products to keep us young and healthy for many more years.
Even if most people don't believe longevity, they should still support it coz in fact we just have one life after all. Living up to a hundred and being still healthy is beyond priceless. I'm up for Dr. Sinclair's NMN supplementation. It's hard to prove something if you don't experience it yourself. Thanks to Vitruvin Health supplementation, I'll never have to worry about aging and the age-linked illnesses.
Yeah, I know most people will never believe what David envisions, but I remain supportive on his ideas and other people who believes in longevity. I want to believe that I can live longer than expected.
It's difficult to evaluate something with no visible consequences, but the research points to a positive outcome. It's probably best to utilize while you're under physical duress. This product has met my expectations in that it has made me feel more energetic in the morning and throughout the day since I started using it. I'll keep taking Vitruvin Health Anti-aging supplement since it keeps me energetic throughout the day.
So far, I've been experiencing a positive outcome ever since I am taking this product.. 😇🤩 Except that I had a trouble sleeping during the first few nights as I am still hyped up. The energy that Vitruvin supplement gives me is so overwhelming...but now this is best recommended. 😇
Really fascinating. Dr. Sinclaiir has made even more advances since this talk a year ago. The premise behind the science was the subject of my new novel, "Turn Back the Clocks," wherein a mutation in the protagonist's Sirtuin-Three gene causes her to reverse age. The main thrust of the novel is the consequence of her growing younger while those around her do not, but the science is a crucial part of the story.
Dude. If you look at a video from 9 years ago called "A Cure for Aging" (it's another tedx talk) He looks so much older! In this video He looks like he could be in his 30's. He literally changed between those 2 talks over the span of 9 yrs.
Well, given that this research has already progressed to the point where it can reverse aging in rodents, I don't think it's unthinkable that you might be able to fulfill that dream one day. I guess it depends on your current age and whether you'll be alive by the time that this research is successfully translated to humans.
@@Guidus125 It really feels good to read, I'm 38, we all make mistakes in life, I feel I really started living last year, understanding myself and living my best life. I always been anxious, I wish I would have been more grateful to life in my 20s, not partying as much , studying more, not staying alone as much, not waisting time. I'm doing my best now and keeping myself healthy , some people don't want to reverse aging, me it's a absolute yes. @@jeffamg Interesting to hear you say you feel like you just recently started truly living, yet you felt that you partied too much when you were younger. I commonly hear people your age saying that partying is one of those things they actually didn't do, and that it's part of the reason they felt like they weren't really living. I guess moderation is key, and everyone ofc has their own thing to make them feel alive. In any case, the good thing is that you're only 38 (which I say as a 27 year old myself) , so statistically you have plenty of time left to live life the way you want it. If I may ask, is there a specific reason that you transformed your life recently? Perhaps a psychedelic awakening or something like that?
Mayo Clinic’s studying a combination of dasatinib and quercetin (D+Q) to test whether this senolytic combination could slow physical dysfunction caused by senescent cells. It worked great on mice but after extensive human trials they did not show any help to the participants. I’ve been told by a PhD Biologist that in most cases studies in mice do not translate to humans. Until it has been show to work in humans, we should not get to excited.
Wow, age reversal, what a thought. I'm 76 and all ears David. In summary, getting certain proteins and NAD to repair broken DNA sections will make us younger and to kick start these anti-aging proteins, you need to lower sugar levels, intermittently fast and maybe take NMN supplements? This sounds too good to be true, but I'll be following the science very, very closely and maybe make subtle lifestlye changes.
It's probably because I'm 18 and still imaginative, but I'm hoping we'll be able to slow down aging until we ultimately solve it. Let's say that we hypothetically make people born now to live until 200-- by the time they are at 200 the technology will make them live an extra 100 years. When they are 300, technology makes them live an extra 150 and so on. Through artificial intelligence and researchers, I genuinely think that aging can be solved. It seems so crazy but it could also be incredibly simple to figure out and execute.
@@PrimeDiam The way he put it seems like they'll be able to reset your cells so they wont really need to find anything after that we'll just have to do it every 60 or so years
If your dna itself is broke your screwed, but if haven't mutated in those 76 years much then sure this would work. But this only will extend your life, eventually mutations will accumulate to deadly levels or try your evolve you in a way that you can't live with. Synthetic biology will a great ally to his to overturn that last piece though since we have the digital human genome we could print a fresh genome from.
I am 73 and my husband is 76 but we are energetic and don’t feel old. We basically dance a lot with 70~80s disco music and gardening. We look about 15 years younger, and we dance very well with split, jump, and spins. We don’t take any protein drinks or pills, and not taking any medications. We only take blood test once a year for well beings. I think all it matters what DNA we inherited from our parents. We are pretty thin and never exercise, and we eat a lot of foods and we don’t believe fasting. I hospitalized early this year due to lack of carbohydrates .
Great presentation. I am still left wondering why is there a relationship between the size of an animal and its lifespan? Do the characteristic epigenetic changes associated with aging occur at a faster rate for smaller animals compared to larger animals? If this is the case, what is the mechanism driving this?
I believe the book Scale be Geoffrey West explains this and explains it pretty well. But, essentially, it's just what happens with how things work at different sizes and not genetic or epigenetic issues. Small animals, for example, just can't have as efficient arteries and things like that. It's like having a small town with a big freeway where it'd actually make it more difficult to get around, but the arteries just can't get smaller and clots and things occur more easily. Their heart rates go way up just trying to get blood and oxygen to the body. And, when something like a small cancer or clogged artery occurs, it's causing a disproportionately huge issue relative to the entire body. Larger bodies need much larger cancers to die and the body's protective mechanisms are more likely to get to it more effectively.
I think it may be the other way around, animals become smaller because of their short lifespans, to more effectively and efficiently manage limited resources they have. Island animals becoming smaller/bigger up to a certain size sort of support this arguement because of how enviromental opportunities and shortcomings affect life of animals that got stuck on islands.
It's research born out of love of family and the love of life, which is why it's so easy to get behind and support. I hope we can become masters of our own destiny and end aging to see all the beautiful universe has to offer.
What good does age reversal cellularly do when our bodies are full of everything consumed and breathed in over our lifetimes? If I take David's pill today for a few weeks to get back to where I want to be and my cardio is clogged, lungs are darkened, etc, etc won't that also increase the risk of disease (maybe cancer, maybe not) since they younger cells will have a harder time with all the pollutants?
The problem with MNM I’m having now its an open market. Where do you buy guaranteed working, best quality MNM where Sinclair himself would stand behind. I want to start using this as well long term, just not sure where to start…
The first thing that came to my mind was: Wait, he was born in the 1960's? Wow. He looks great. Let's say, he was even born in 1969. The talk is roughly 1 year old (i guess), that would still make him 52 years of age. He looks younger. Awsome. And now I am going to watch the whole video :D Maybe we all get to be 200+ years old, who knows. Wouldn't say not to that, I guess. ;D
Most importantly everything we know regarding eating might be wrong, we are all under effect of the marketing. Even though I was telling about these to my family, they still stick with the 3 meals a day approach. It's hard to change people's behavior.
The tissue in the petri dishes that are "mini" brains is scary. My first thought was that this technology will be used for AI development. I think it's great we make scientific advances. I would love to live well into my hundreds and beyond. But we need to be prepared for the unintended consequences.

My right eye has a crushed optic nerve (caused by high IOP (intra occular pressure)) - which has resulted in about 5% vision in my right eye ( practically useless).

*we need people like you brah!* 💪🏼
I think he was talking one day about gathering some volunteers, but that might have been for something else. Either way, I think you may wait for a year or 2, but the technology is going to be there pretty soon I believe. If it works in mice and human cells and whole organs, there's only legislative and ethical reasoning slowing this down. They can also use mRNA tech to deploy it anywhere in the body, so I think it's really gonna be pretty soon and change the world.

Maybe it will force us to finally grow up. As for our emotional maturity, humans have always neglected it in almost every society.
I have to smile during that lecture. I have been using antioxidants exclusively for 19 years. I refuse any signaling pathway activators, flavonoids and polyphenols. The goal is that I'm as young as David Sinclair and I look so young too.
He looks younger every time I see him. Incredible
Maybe the cookie 🍪 jar 🏺 is actually empty.
Great facial esthetic treatments (Botox etc). Notice almost zero facial express on his forehead.
@@sterlingrooke4712 maybe, but then again maybe not. he has been self treating himself with his discoveries for over a decade. If any of what he says is true, which we know at the majority is in some way, then why wouldnt he look younger if all his cells are genetically younger than they were before?
Hi how is your age reversal going?
So informative, but also nice to see somebody doing something they are really passionate about. This is clearly David's life mission.

The next sir Dr Fred hollows
It’s admirable, but he sold his discovery for over $70 million. The lab then ditched resveratrol because the human guy can’t absorb it.

What’s your fasting cycle and when do you take cold showers (morning, night, both)?
@@jammies6228 been fasting for so long think I’m past cycles. I typically eat 1 meal a day 90% of the time and then when I feel the urge I do 72hr water only fasts. I don’t really do longer fasts mainly because I see fasting as a way of life now. So 72hrs is that sweet spot for me.
As far as cold showers go depends on the season. In winter I prefer evenings to make sure I feel the cold water shock. In the summer mornings seem to provide colder water.

So good to see him again after quite a break. Dr Sinclair please do some more podcasts. Missing your guidance and knowledge immensely!

Yes, new findings so good to follow.

@@AlexanderMoen Thank you for the explanation!
Fantastic! This is research I get really excited about!
It's research born out of love of family and the love of life, which is why it's so easy to get behind and support. I hope we can become masters of our own destiny and end aging to see all the beautiful universe has to offer.
Love this guy
What good does age reversal cellularly do when our bodies are full of everything consumed and breathed in over our lifetimes? If I take David's pill today for a few weeks to get back to where I want to be and my cardio is clogged, lungs are darkened, etc, etc won't that also increase the risk of disease (maybe cancer, maybe not) since they younger cells will have a harder time with all the pollutants?
This looks so good. I'm so happy for coming generations (or first person already born, maybe in January).
Hoping we catch the bus! -Gen Z
You just need to show them by example.
The tissue in the petri dishes that are "mini" brains is scary. My first thought was that this technology will be used for AI development. I think it's great we make scientific advances. I would love to live well into my hundreds and beyond. But we need to be prepared for the unintended consequences.
i keep coming back to see what David is been up to, he seems to be shifting from nmn and nr. what a time to be alive.
Crazy! Wish these discoveries would have been around years ago.
He was born in the 60’s! I’ve seen people born in the 90’s that look older then him
Amazing. I’ve been expecting this!!
This guy is 54 years old, when I look at him I belife each word he tell how look younger and stop ageing!
Wonderfull David SInclair. Where can I get the rest this interview?
Does anyone have recommendation of which NMN supplement I should take to get the same effect? Thank you.
I hope to find good NMN supplement good for my mother's eyes, since her eyes are all blind from Bietti crystalline dystrophy. I hope she will be able to see my daughter. She looks more like my mother, than me.
