A lot of people says that Metallica hasn’t made anything good since black album. But I’m pretty sure if they heard the songs like this, they would have loved them. So the problem isn’t the quality of the songs, but their understanding of aging and good music.

Yep. The songs are fine, it's just that overproduction and modern tones they use now on the modern albums. Its doesn't work good with thrash metal. Thrash needs to be more raw and old school
@@RyansShack i think a proper thrash album done with the level of production on the black album could be the heaviest metal album ever. the problem is they arent willing to commit to totally raw metal nor super polished uber production and so they get the worst of both and the arrangements need work too.
As a musician, it’s definitely the way their new music has been produced. It’s much dryer and punchier. His vocals in their old work, was layered, with more reverb than nowadays. So it’s definitely an issue of production. Imo many of their songs would be incredibly hard if they has the same production as demonstrated here. This is incredibly well done. Jasons background screams are such an amazing detail 🙏

These kind of videos just prove how good these songs are, just the execution and production is not the same level of badassness as when they were young. Sucks to get old when you're a metal musician, I guess

Imagine that in about 10 years from now you will be able to say "generate metallica playing crazy hard version of Bleeding Me in Seattle 1989' and it will do this on the fly together with the video. Crazy shit approaches!

I Know i'm in the Minority but albums from this century are one of my favorites with a DM absolutely on top. I do agree that MoP was their best album, considering the Sound design, tone, meaning, album art, lyrics etc. There is just something magical about middle aged men making absolute crazy songs. Like All Nightmare Long or Spit Out the Bone are some of the finest creations of Metallica
Holy Shit! As a Die-Hard Metallica Fan, if you didn't tell me this was an AI cover, I would have been pissed at myself for thinking I somehow missed the boat on this gem; because this sounds JUST LIKE they would have sounded like back then. Hat's off to you man. I would be curious to know your process on the production.
Definitely an 80s thrash sound that I fell in love with after years of Iron Maiden n Ozzy n priest n dio n dozens of other early 80s metal bands. I like those bands but Metallica was my first taste of thrash n now a fan for life. I’d have loved it 40 years ago I’m certain
Voice changes over time, James is 60 years old so it’s obvious he doesn’t sound the same as he did when he was 20-30, that being said he is a much better singer nowadays, very expressive even though he sounds Less powerful
I see alot of people saying this format is making them appreciate the albums more or see how the crowd that mostly likes the early albums will now appreciate the newer stuff. I think it shows that the production/sound of the last three records is really lacking a lot of the energy that was conveyed even on the records back in the day. The production is now sanitized and they just don’t have the energy to deliver like this today. No hate, but there’s good reason people prefer the first four records to everything else.

Agree 100%. Most of the songs are reallye good but the sound of "modern" albums are awful.
It's not the main reason for me, they make songs soo long and repetitive sometimes, but they still got it.

lol.
Nice injection of Newsted
Thank you sir
Seeing Lars play this in 89 would've been just as impressive as the Battery performance of that year.

We can even hear Jason backing vocals, this is insane, well done man !
