Sort off, but yes!
Hell yeah it sound so rad
Although technically if we went back in time, Chasing Light wouldn’t exist lol haha
Holy SHIT, this sounds amazing. I didn't expect those high notes to be so clean.
I had to comment again, this sounds unbelievable. GREAT start to my day... 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
That's why I make good voice models, you're welcome :)

@@litre963 Oh god, I'd love to hear Layne on the new AIC stuff!
HIS VOICE!! SOUNDS LIKE HE IS 22 YEARS OLD AGAIN!
GREAT JOB!!
He was actually 20 when they recorded RTL, which is even more amazing!!! 🤩
@@matthoranofficial his vocals sound more Master Of Puppetsy, but nonetheless, it sounds like he is in his 20s all over again 🤘🏻
@@Pifmeisterthe album vocals on both of them are practically identical, RTL is just pitched higher
@@matthoranofficial- shit I didn’t realize that since he’s born in Aug. Ride the Lightning came out in 84, and either recorded late 83 or early 84 and released idk, I’m guessing before summer 84?
@@vs4571 The release for Megaforce was July 27, 1984! They rereleased it for Elektra on November 19 of the same year
Proof modern Metallica songs sounds fantastic with their older tones. Just gotta find the right one that would sound like it belonged
True but lyrically they don't fit anywhere. Hetfield was once a master lyricist but lately not so much. For me last great lyrics are on Load and Reload, ironically two albums most people hate.
James voice aside, it's stunning how Metallica could never quite get production / studio sound quite back on par with ROL, MOP, AJFA, or Black after... Black. Death and Hardwired not bad just sound ... dunno just not enough of that raw power from back in the day. ZoSo and others prove that it didn't have to be this way. They're giving us what we always wanted.
@@ginjordom6065Totally agree on Load/Reload lyrics being great. I still think there are some good lyrics on modern metallica songs eg. You must burn, Atlas rise, Unforgiven 3, Halo on fire and many more. I also like some of St. Anger lyrics due to their raw and unfiltered nature.
Yeah they can sound good, but the actual songs are still kinda weak.
@@emolga3147Load/Reload were the last good albums lyrically. Unforgiven III is one of the worst offenders. Forgive me, forgive me not?
Tis version of AI James is the absolute cleanest I have ever heard.
Glad I did my job right ✊

@GreenmiIe Epic job dude. Best Hetfield vocs I've ever heard
@@jimmy56100 thanks man, glad I could convince you 🔥
How is this done? It’s so accurate 😮
That AI voice is great. The "lean on me" part sounds like the screams we would hear in RTL.
The world is gonna be just fiction... This is not James Hetfield.

It's still based on Hetfield's singing and melodies. They just de-aged his voice.

It's no more fiction than another human being replicating his voice, when it's not their own, like those worship bands do.

WOW. James Hetfield needs to hear this, he'd be amazed, I certainly am.
Nope. Hetfield hates his singing and the sound of his own voice from the Ride The Lightning days. He would absolutely hate this.
@@illyb514i don’t think i’ve ever heard james say this, as these early vocals and ajfa-black album vocals are what he’s most known for vocally speaking (no pun intended lol) as an older man i can definitely see him shitting on his younger chaotic self lol
@@illyb514damn calm down 💀
I’m not upset. Just saying I saw an interview where he says he hates the sound of his own voice on the first 3 albums.
He’s already said multiple interviews how he hates his voice from kill/ride. As far as AI goes, it’s not real. So I doubt he would be interested in it and see how James is in his current state, he’ll more likely say “it’s liking soul”.
I instantly felt like I was a kid hearing them for the first time again wow
Alternate timeline Metallica..... Man can you imagine. It's so trippy... The song, the album cover, it's really like being in an alternate dimension
I literally can’t stop listening to this
yeah me too!
Same, it's an absolute mindf**k how AMAZING and EPIC this turned out, I simply can't believe this isn't an actual unreleased track from RTL

Yup, even after a few weeks, hearing the "LEAN ON ME" still gives me chills
Oh my fucking god I'm blown away!! This is CRAZY!!! That voice is haunting me, it sounds so natural... Just as if he sang it in 84. Well done both of you!!
This is so good. It’s actually listenable. This guy needs to do the same to Sepultura. Add Max Cavalera’s Arise era vocals and tone to all of Sepultura. Someone needs to start a gofundme for that. Quadra with Max would be killer!
SOMEONE NEEDS TO MAKE THAT
Listenable???
@@silverstone3228Just another hater. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the original track. There's little to no changed composition-wise. James' voice isn't drastically different either. Just more refined.
I'm 52 been a Metallica fan since I was a kid and I am in an absolute state of shock
Damn well done holy sh-t
Fantastic work
I saw Metallica for the first time at the Stone in SF, I went an Exodus fan and left a Metallica fanatic...
Well DAMN, now I wish the original song was this aggressive.
God,,,imagine this was actually on RTL,, When that big riff comes in at 0:44 ,,everybody's head would have exploded, back in the day 🤟🏻
This is amazing work 👌🏻
I like this riff way more then the original tbh
They would have put this on the album instead of Escape. Everyone knows James hates the song Escape.
@@Suddsy. Would've been a perfect replacement for Escape.
@@ryanrooprai5104 I wonder if it would be more loved than master of puppets as an album if it were switched out with chasing light
So cool! Not a lot of people (metal heads) realize that Metallica still create great songs that easily could’ve been made in the beginning of their career. When you watch videos like this one, it just proves that point that they’re still a good thrash band.
They still create good riffs and lyrics.... their musical ability? lol no. Overkill and Testament are the only bands that old going as fast as they used to.
@@NotoriousNIG The musical hability includes songwriting, not only technique bro. Metallica is better at composing rather than playing exceptionally good.
@@GabrielSarria It's almost like I literally said that in first sentence of my comment. Neither of the bands I mentioned are overtly technical, though Alex Skolnick is undoubtedly miles above Kirk, if I wanted to argue on which band is more technical I could list Megadeth, Coroner, Voivod, Dark Angel, etc. You completely missed the point, obviously.
Minus Load, Reload and St. Anger they had a great run.
@@scottashe984oh yeah for sure no doubt! But I wasn’t referring to those records just strictly to the 80s album
Sent me back to 1986 when things and people made sense...
@4:10 that vocal buildup to that riff-> " one step down!! turn so u won't seeeee, One step down, HE'S JUST LIKE U AND MEEEhh!!!" vocal is damn catchy and then right after when that guitar riff kicks, highlight of the song for me. That moment. 👍
BRING BACK THE 80'S METAL SOUND!!! 🔥
I thought it was an old song left undisplayed from the album... It can't be!! It sounds incredible
vocals are actually crazy
Seems like this song was especially written for early 'Tallicas works. James' screaming feels really "goosebumping" and reminds 80's albums🔥
This where I come to listen to Metallica's latest album.
I wanna hear Room of Mirrors in this style and voice!
Every Metallica fan should hear this. The voice sounds so real this sounds like a bside rdl track!
I noticed an evolution on james' voice precision. Perfect
If I wasn't a metallica fan I would think this was a proper song from them, and it would probably be my favourite
The guitar tones, the AI vocals, the embellishments on the original riffs.........AMAZING! This feels like I'm listening to a lost track off RTL. Better than that, it feels like this could've been one of their biggest songs in another dimension.
BRO YES I LOVE HOW ALL THE RIFFS HAVE BEEN CHANGED (a lot of what I heard is you adding triplets and more alternate picking at some parts like the main riff and I love the ride the lightning harmony guitars in the intro that was genius!!!! Gotta say this is awesome dude andI love just hearing that ride the lightning echo whenever he says LEAN ON MEEEE!
Dude I just spent the last 10 minutes listening and playing along to this version with my guitar and dude holy fuck it's so much more fun to play with all the triplets and alternate picking and I love the way the main riff had been changed like omg its so good thanks dude!
@@zuckleyplays4120 LOOOL that main riff is hella addicting bro I can' top myself from plying it
@@zososound nah dude but adding those triplets makes it so much more challenging but also I just love the extra complexity to the riff it’s sick and definitely took me a minute to get down 😂. I thought at first you could’ve added even more triplets between some notes but I was trying and that shit was way too hard for me atleast 😭
@@zososounddo you have tabs for this?
I have listened to many Metallica what ifs over the past few years and it is amazing how far it has come along in that time frame.
However, I have never listened to a Metallica rework where I’ve been able to go “Yup, this could come straight off the album without question.”
Until now.
Your RTL rhythm guitar tone is one of the closest I’ve ever heard when compared to the record. The “frostiness” and crunch of the tone is absolutely on point and it chugs hard through the low end like the record. The tone reminds me the most of Fight Fire With Fire and Trapped Under Ice. The leads in the beginning are very RTL like and is captured well. I also love the added RTL touches with the alternate picking and triplets in the riffs. It is EXTREMELY accurate.
The drums are also very on point, you capture Lars’s drumming from this era very well. It is exactly how I’d envision Lars would play this on Ride The Lightning.
The only thing I would say is that the solo at 4:27 has more of an AJFA quality to me then Kirk’s RTL lead tone. However, I don’t mind it at all.
@Greenmile
I must say, you have done an absolute fantastic job. This is the best James AI vocal model that I’ve heard yet and I know it’s only going to get better from here. It is extremely clear and smooth.
Great job! I am extremely impressed. This is an absolute masterpiece and a huge milestone in the Metallica what if world👍
Keep up the great work!!
Thank you brother, this feedback means a lot and makes it all worth it. I hope you enjoy what's to come! 🖤
Just saw this now, my handle name is a little funky so I didn't get the mention.
Thanks dude, the feedback is greatly appreciated! I worked hard to get a good voice and it really payed off in the end. It is among the many voices I've done my best of perfecting, and continue to do so.
I'm glad I did my job well in how accurate it sounds, considering the initial quality of the rip I used. The final lyric of "There's No Light" is not from the original song, however; that is my voice with the AI voice that you are hearing.
Glad you enjoyed ZoSo's incredible rework.
i think this is actually the best new to old remaster i’ve heard. the riff adjustments just add an extra level to all of the riffs. it also affirms my belief that part of the reason that the newer albums aren’t as heavy sounding is because of the guitar tone
You just created my new favourite Metalica song
Holy shit, I’m impressed by the quality of this song.
Yoooo the mixing is very good, and the vocals sounds absolutely like young het. Well done brother
Appreciate that🖤
(Holy Shitballs!) It sounds amazing!!!
They should hire you to re-release the whole new album with this exact voice and tone.
They need to rehire thier producer from the first 4 albums.
What the hell? That was incredible. This one here is really something special. Huge props my dude!
These versions of the new stuff just makes me respect 72 seasons even more. Metallica WROTE these songs, the songs are brilliant and could easily have existed in the 80s/90s. Great work!
ZoSo....I'm 52. I remember buying that album. You just warped my freaking mind! You're awesome good job 👍
This honestly sounds like a long lost B-side that didn't make album, complete with the fact that the songwriting is a notch below the songs on the actual album so it makes perfect sense ;)
Intro still makes my jaw drop. Perfection, great work man! Too Far Gone should be a blast next.
Too Far Gone with KEA tone would be great

I cant stop imaginening this being released in the 80s. It would most certainly be a smash.
I just played this through a vintage 1984 SEARS boombox. The panning is well done, certainly feels like time travel as others have commented. Its just so good
Jesus christ this absolutely slaps. Not just the vocals which are amazing but actually changing things up a little with fills . Amazing job.!
wow! It rocks! it's crazy. As Gondor says, we go back in time, and we reimagine it! Fabulous.
Glad you like it!
These tracks make me realize once again how close we are to the end of the world.
Can you imagine how this will change everything in years to come?
The world change a long time ago, because fckn garbage music like reggeton and similars, millions of fckn assholes that don't know nothing about music came to light, unfourtunly most of them are womans....so don't worry about IA , Metallica AND others being in charge of sue them or whatever are responsable 😂
Every day is the end of the world.
Tomorrow is not the same world as today, and today is not the same world as yesterday.
This is the unchanging change of time.
It is the only thing that remains forever.... until the heat death of the universe (of course)
Also AI is not intelligent, it's unreliable, and requires an intelligence to sift through the results and make sure that they are valid.
They do not, and functionally cannot, perform reason or actually "understand" anything.
It can produce results that seem like they were produced by a conscious entity, but that's is only because a conscious entity was using it as a tool.
The way they decide to produce their outputs is largely arbitrary, and chaotic. Requiring extensive training...and even then they're not reliable enough to do anything of importance.
It essentially has no power on it's own to do anything.
The term artificial intelligence is a misnomer.
The public, and many entrepreneurs do not understand this lmao
That being said, it will still make everything shitty for a while, because many people think are capable of intelligence, and people are going to try and replace actual conscious entities with them....
but they will quickly see that this doesn't work the way they think it does. Because, they are in fact, not intelligent or conscious, in any sense of the word.
And this leads to all sorts of whacky hijinks... which negate the possibility of ever using them for ethical or moral considerations in place of a thinking entity.
Like when an AI was diagnosing cases of tuberculosis based on the age of the testing equipment, instead of relevant data... because the older machines had more positives and the newer machines didn't have as many... and yes the results of the AI using the faulty methodology was actually somewhat accurate... but it was accurate in an arbitrary way which lacked any meaningful connection to reality...
This is the intrinsic incompatibility of AI.
And there is no easy way to tell the machine "hey buddy, thats wrong, can you do it the other way" because it just decides how to do things on its own.
I used to be anxious about AI... but now i just think its sort of a joke.
It won't destroy the world.
Humanity will be the one's to do that... don't doubt that for a moment.
If this song was on RTL, it would be on their Playlist constantly. Everybody would loose their minds on the concerts with this one. Seems on the same level of Damage Inc, Disposable Heroes, Fight Fire with Fire. So fast and agressive. 😛
This is the only 80's recreation that I've heard that doesn't sound funky, Well done!
Even the riffing style is very 80's Metallica. Even the drums are accurate as well. Vocals and everything as well, just perfect as if it was recorded in 1984.
Dude wtf!!!! This sounds wayyyy too good!! This is unreal
Honestly I'd love to see Hetfield's reaction to this just due to how awesome it is
First 5 seconds in, yes this is gonna be good.
6 seconds in, you know its gonna be spectacular
My mind is blown! This actually sounds like a lost RTL gem! \m/
Genuinely gonna listen to this instead of the 72 version
you are doing god's work
Suena hermoso...
Es como entrar a una dimensión donde Metallica compuso esto en aquella época
This is so addictive
This seriously feels like a unreleased song from the RTL era. 🤘🏽
For those of you who didnt experience Metallica back when they sounded like this all the time, welcome to back in the day!
All of 72 seasons would be awesome!!!❤
That picture goes soooo hard
Start a gofundme I’ll pay for you to put in the work and redo Death Magnetic, Hardwired and all of 72 in this tone
hell yeah, especially with the vocals
I agree I'm a broke ass b**** and I'll find a way to give him some money! It's just a real f****** shame that Metallica with all their money can't figure this out for themselves..
@@kskip4242 well can’t really blame James for being 60 and not being able to scream like his 18 year old self
@@guitarthrasher81 I think you're missing the point I'm talking about the general sound of the band. Those guitar tones are horrible, needs alot of dirt thrown on them. Plenty of bands out here from those days that are still sounding heavy as hell. Metallica sou ds like radio friendly hard rock at best. This video here with the Ride the Lightning tone added to it is proof that that's thier tone is what is standing between them either being epic or keeping thier current tone and staying mediocre. The material is solid, has been since Death Magnetic.

I love this song the way it was originally, and you topped it. If you had super thanks available, I'd tip 12.99. Old school price for old school tone.
They really write songs like a Metallica cover band nowadays lol I guess that’s probably the best route they could’ve gone seeing the phases they’ve been in. You nailed the tone dude, the lead sounds identical.
