I'm pretty sure my issue is the sprocket at the end. The engine was rebuilt last year and it runs good, but that stupid code won't go away. I've changed out the VVT solenoid and that didn't help. Your video is the only one I've found that explains all the troubleshooting scenarios. Thanks for the great info.
Great video. Just did a timing chain kit and new intake/exhaust vvt sprockets job on a 11 Toyota Camry..customer used eccpp parts but there was a ton of sludge inside the motor..car drives good but got this exact code right after..
Dirty oil caused clogging in the solenoid so you probably need to replace the solenoids , clean them, and change the oil a couple times maybe even do a engine oil flush?
Just so you know the Kia engine you showed, you got the intake and exhaust oil control valves backwards. Intake Ocv is next to the intake manifold.
I just got this code after running over something. The wiring might have been ripped out? The last repair was the water pump. Timing chain not changed. Checking oil tomorrow the low oil light did not come on and was changed 1500 miles ago.
I had this code on my ecotech and it was the camshaft positionING sensors and the chain tensioner was bad..I replaced the vvt chain gears and tensioner..The 2011 ecotech is known for this problem they all get it at 70 to 110 k ..Gm should have recalled these but never did.
Customer self installed timing chains on 5.4 navigator and it knocks after driving. I assume he is 1 tooth off on each side. First, I changed his ultra black oil and oil filter feels like 5 pounds of crap. 😂 Clearing codes now. I hope it isn't the o ring on oil pump, but I am going in deep later today and pull it all apart.
Hi, I have 2010 toyota corolla, and it pops up code p0012 and i open the valve cover, and front side oil is so slow compared to the back side what can be help please
Thank You! My 2018 1.5 liter Ford Escape has dirty synthetic Oil, changing oil soon and checking parts needed
Lots of good info here, thanks
You are awesome. You explained that so clearly, thank you.
i have 06 camry 2.4 vvt. i get the code here when driving and after about 10 minutes of driving i will get the p0420 code. clear the codes while driving and the cam code comes back and once i parked and let it idle, it shuddered and threw a code regarding cylinder 3 misfire..i was wondering if this was timing related or could it just be a dirty/clogged fue
l injector
Very good video. Very concise and informative.
Thanks for the info... really appreciate it. 👍👍👍
Toyota told me the 4 camshaft sensors needs to be replaced
Currently je said thr bank 1 A timing over back 1 is the one giving issues. Can u do a video on how to replace it as well as the 4 camshaft sensors? Is it easy enough to do myself? Toyota wants to charge me 1700 bucks
Mine is going to have to go to shop to fix this code, which also has the P0016 code also. Is this a costly repair? Any thouights on how much?
V knowledgeable video , thanks for it
Great video thank you for your time
I have a 2019 Infiniti Q50 3.0t (94K miles). My car was driving very sluggish when I was trying to accelerate.
I ran my OBD scanner and got the two codes:
P0012 - A Camshaft Position Timing Over - Retarded Bank 1
P0022 - A Camshaft Position Timing Over - Retarded Bank 2
What does this mean? What should I be replacing?
i got the same codes bro.. did you ever get it figured out? please let me know.
You ever figure it out
@@Jonathan-cv4tk yeah. I took my car to the dealership so they could assess the situation. My turbochargers were failing. It was going to cost me $8,300 to replace them. So i decided get rid of the car LOL!
@@ChrisBrown-xq8ji should've done the turbos yourself and save yourself 5-6k $, turbos are not hard at all
@@horror0100 Infiniti changed their engine on the 2019 and up. They made it difficult to change the turbochargers yourself.
is this 12valves engine ?
I got a 07 f150 with this code and it idles rough when I’m at a stop or reversing any idea what it could be?
Did you figure out the problem?
Could be a Faulty VCT silinoid
