From what I've read Diesels introductory episode was originally meant to be aired before Percy takes the plunge. Apparently the reason he roles through the back of shot and blows his horn is because he's still feeling cocky for getting Duck demoted and is now lurking at the docks so he can laugh at Percy as he continues to boast about diesels being revolutionary and steam engines being useless.
Who would have known Terence had a LEGO piece on him? I never knew the tar and milk tankers used the same props in season 1, that explains why ERTL released them together.
Yes, funnily enough ERTL released a set of 2 "Sodor Fuel Tankers" together and there was only 1 Fuel tanker prop used for the entirety of it's existence in the model seasons.
@@FlyingFishProductions funnily enough, Wooden Railway and Take Along paired up the fuel tanker with the tar tanker but the fuel tanker’s Take Along model was released individually in Ireland and Britain, but strangely not the tar tanker. Meanwhile Plarail paired the milk and fuel tankers together with an engine who never pulled them in the show.
@@joshuaW5621 It's interesting how toy companies make those decisions, I wouldn't expect them to sit down and watch the entire show start to finish, (as they have a business to run). But I'd expect them to do a little more research, I've always quite liked the tankers in the show having owned all three of the Wooden Railway tankers, and recently I purchased a Gauge 1 Tenmille Tanker kit. The exact same kit the crew used for the show, I'm still deciding whether I'll make it into a Tar Tanker or Milk Tanker, or possibly even one of the plain silver ones seen in Seasons 1 and 2.
@@ww08 Yes, there's a few other scenes in Seasons 1 and 2 where LEGO parts can be spotted, although you'll need a sharp eye to see some of them, and I will point them out in future videos.
Worked at The Great Train Store near Atlanta and loved to see kids playing with these on the train table. My son and I went to the Strasburg Railroad and saw “Thomas” being fired up.
Not gonna lie, some of these are actually very clever, especially with the ways the crew saved money in the first season, I never would’ve thought to do that myself
I had always known that the 4-wheeled green coaches had differently painted sides due to GWR Studios' video on Henry's Special Coal, but I never knew that technique was also used for the tankers! There were a lot of really cool facts that I never knew until I saw this video! Keep going man!
I actually worked on your thomas for clearwater productions who made the series, unfortunately a lot of your information is not correct, a lot was filmed in battersea with the remaining series filmed in Shepperton
You know, they could have just split the tanker models into two bunches, one to be painted white and the other to be painted black. That way, the tankers could be painted the same colours all over. Similarly, they could have just not bothered painting the old coaches, and then they would not have Keep turning them around.
These facts are very interesting. I didn't know any of these facts thanks so much for making this! I'm American and I used to watch Thomas on a channel called PBS Kids and I really enjoyed it!
Tamiya models aren't toys, just so you know. If you played with them like they were toys, they would break. It's generally incorrect to call a model kit like those a 'toy'.
Yes! They weren't ever shown on screen together at the same time. While they were both shown and introduced in Season 2, (albeit in different episodes), in Season 3 BoCo is present often. While Daisy is absent, while vice versa for Season 4, and then in Season 5 BoCo is more present in the show again while Daisy isn't.
@@bernarda1247 it's not proteus. Proteus wasn't even a character until 7 years after the episode. Besides that doesn't even matter because the ghost *isn't* sir handel's model, if you actually watched the big behind the scenes video of season 5 you'd see it's skarloey's model
@@bernarda1247 well... Watch it again I guess idk 😭 It's definitely not sir handel's model, there wasn't even a larger scale model of him during season 5, they started building one during season 9
The single car Unit Daisy would in fact have two 4 wheel bogies. No Single car units a multi car DMU's ever had 4 and 6 wheel bogies, and only ever had two 4 wheel bogies. Try doing some research before posting you videos. The Class 28 where the onlu UK locomotives to have this unusual Co-Bo wheel arangement!
Hey Mike, if you actually watched the video and watched the model series you would know that Daisy had a custom built chassis that was shared with BoCo. The back axle carried the motor while the front was unpowered so that it could be changed between a four-wheeled bogie and a six-wheeled bogie depending on which diesel was wearing the chassis. The model had a 4 wheeled bogie and a 6 wheeled bogie. gotcha :>
The show makers really liked to put new characters in the background before having their own episodes. Arthur, Diesel, James etc
I believe they did this with Spencer as well

pre-enrolling cameos are a specialty
Same with Duncan

well the show was known for using lego in the first season, like the steps in Thomas's Christmas Party.
Idk, just kinda cool

5:37 Actually she's supposed to have 4 wheels at both the "front" and "rear" ends.
Yep that's true

So Daisy is just BoCo in drag.
We stan.
Perhaps Diesel made an early cameo so it can be a mystery. "Who's that running in the background at night?". :)
2:10 Skarloeys lost brother?
Diesel in the background is a jaw dropper
I know Diesel was in Percy takes the Plunge and the song Pop goes the Diesel was on in Dirty Work.
📺 good evening all 🌆 I enjoyed watching Thomas wish it was still on PBS
How did I not notice that about Daisy and Boco?! 😂😂😂
What about Henry's story for Flying Kipper?
I like how for every number, the background is the color of that engine’s number (with some exceptions) :)
#9 we call that a Crawler in USA with blade its a bulldozer & Caterpillar is a trademark too hehe
Terence
Heil hit entertainment
Ringo was the best narrator
Never thought Terence and Thumper would share caterpillar tracks from toy tanks
Surprised you didn't mention the lowered buffers on annie and a troublesome truck
I'll definitely mention them in the next video😎.
I actually worked on your thomas for clearwater productions who made the series, unfortunately a lot of your information is not correct, a lot was filmed in battersea with the remaining series filmed in Shepperton
I always love some good camera trickery to fool people. It takes more effort and shows how talented the people involved are.
I wonder if diesels little adventure in Percy takes the plunge could be made into a story in future?
I found the hand that was pushing James it's after the crash
It's also in the episode James and a mess
Appreciate you using the sudrian afro's boco theme :)
Daisy is basically boco in drag lol
The telling of The Railway Stories was never better than in the days of real modelling. Derek Meddings would have been impressed.
Yeah I knew these things but I forgot about the tankers and old coaches.

The coaches that were painted differently on both sides. That was found out by GWR Studios in the episode "Coal".
I don't think he discovered that fact himself specifically, but many people haven't seen the images of them clearly.
Did they really save that much time in not painting the coaches if they then needed to spend more time on quality control and editing?
Now i know why i kept thinking boco was a girl as a kid. It was just daisy's face
Terence the German Tank lol
All jokes aside, these facts were very interesting! Thank you for sharing!
that would be in episode Nein!
Pretty sure Daisy and BoCo both had separate faces that just used the same molds
Thank you for the fun facts.
Knew most of them, a few were new tho. Keep up the good Work👍
the only ones i didn't know were 9, 8, and 6
Can you make another runaway theme please

also at 1:21 look at the left very closely you can see a finger pushing the cars
0:18 u mean antagonist?
Yep, my mistake.
Quite an interesting video, a few of these facts I’ve never known
Nice job!
at 1:38 you can kinda see the white on the tar tanker
Nice!

I definitely will.
4:05 what theme is this from
Petersams theme, Mavis M original.

I did notice
Thumper literally Russian 💀
