I also used a hammer to help get the hub off the center spindle, but was left worrying that I had damaged the CV joint. It was a relief to see you using the same method. Thanks for the excellent tutorial!
+GarageKing22 Probably better to use a punch centered on the end of the shaft but as long as you don't damage the threads your good. Super glad you liked the vid. Hope you visit the channel again soon. Take it easy.
Thanks a bunch for this video. Very helpful. Expecting to take on this job myself next week and you just gave me loads of peace of mind with the tips you've passed on. Thank you!
Your video is the best ever, in the history of the planet. Dude, you crack me up. I told a bunch of my friends about your channel. Thank you for making vids. They are so thorough, accurate and efficient!! Intelligence and humor sets you apart from the majority. I'd give you twenty thumbs up if I could. Kudos from Maine.
Thanks so much. I appreciate the positive feedback. I get plenty of negative so its helps to hear encouraging remarks. I enjoy helping anyway. Take care.
Hey Tim and hope you're doing well. Didn't even know you existed as I came over here from a recommendation from Steve Rob. Good stuff that you've got on your channel and you've earned my sub...
+stuzman52 Hello and thanks for the complements and add. Steve is a super nice guy and I sure appreciate his promotion of my channel. I hope I can continue to exceed your expectations. Take care!
At 10:52 pause it! Look at that frame bushing! This is the reason the ball joints wore out! The shifting of the frame and the stress on the suspension. THE CAR DOCTOR is a INTERN!
easiest way I find with the rivits is grind then and use a punch and they come right out! being I'm in new England the salt does a number on the rubber bushings so alot of times it's cheaper to just do the whole assembly!
I'm a plumber. I grind with a diamond blade all the time. Right angle grinder. I cut 4" cast iron with it. Those rivets are nothing. If you can get the blade in there. I'll be finding out soon. Why I'm watching this. 😊
The Car Doctor , , , arabs throw shade at anything that isn't done by them, dont mind him, he's looking up videos on how to build bombs, not replace ball joints anyway.

Great Video! CAR DOC. LEARNED LOTS FROM YOU, AND MAKES MY HANDS ON JOBS EASIER!
Tim, you should get a big pair of pliers to help take the caps off easier. It can make the job a whole lot easier than the little ones you used...
+South Main Auto Repair I actually have some but didn't want to overdo it. Im not a show off like you.
Ohhhh I see.... yeah no sense in being like "hey look at me and my big tool"... way to keep it on the DL
+Greg Wells I just got the matching set of cutters to go with them. Already trying to decide how I'm supposed to use them.
The cutters are for trimming your nose hairs, ya big silly. Oh; and for clipping extra length off from zip ties of course.

Kewl
On 2WD, if the upper one shatters like on my truck, a ball joint separator will get that stud out easily
